FAQs
What is the maximum time to use a massage gun?****
Depending on the desired result, we recommend using your Theragun for a minimum of 15 seconds and a maximum of 2 minutes per muscle group. A full-body session should not exceed 15 minutes. Treat yourself 2-3 times per day.
Can you use a massage gun for too long?****
Improper or excessive use of massage guns could cause discomfort and injury. Continuous pressure or vibration in a specific area can cause tissue injury and unbearable pain.
How much force does a massage gun need?****
Budget guns will have a stall force of around 20 to 30 pounds and an amplitude of 8 to 10mm, while mid- and higher-tier guns will have 40 to 50 pounds of stall force and 12mm to 16mm of amplitude. These numbers alter the effectiveness of the device and whether it provides vibration therapy or percussive stimulation
Can I use massage gun every day?****
It is generally safe to use a massage gun every day for a few minutes on each targeted muscle group. To get the maximum benefits and avoid overuse, you should be sure to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for how long and how frequently to use your massage gun.
Where not to use a massage gun?****
Don’t use it directly over bony prominences, the front of the neck or abdomen, or acute injuries. Percussion guns work on soft, contractile tissue. Use over bones, sensitive areas, vital organs, or already inflamed areas won’t just be ineffective, it will hurt.
What is the side effect of massage gun?****
Just like with muscle strains, massage guns can cause further damage to sprains of muscle and ligaments. The body is known to become inflamed when it is injured. This is a natural response that helps to supply more blood to the region to get it to heal.
What is the science behind massage guns?****
Muscle tissue stimulation with a massage gun increases blood flow, bringing more vital nutrients into your blood to aid recovery. Better circulation helps flush lactic acid (one of the primary causes of muscle soreness) and reduce inflammation in the muscles.
Where is the best place to use a massage gun?****
Massage guns are commonly used on lower body muscles (calves, quads, hamstrings, glutes), upper body muscles (biceps, triceps, pectorals), hands and feet, shoulder blades and lower neck, or on the back (minus the spine).
How do you power a massage gun?****
Most massage guns require you to hold the power button for a few seconds to switch it on properly. Whereas, some devices require you to press the power button or move the power switch to the ON position to turn on the device properly. A quick way to tell if most massage guns are on is their power light indicators.
Does a massage gun affect fat?****
Unfortunately, no massage gun can break down fat cells. However, a massage gun or therapeutic massage therapist can help speed up the fat breakdown and eliminate sagging skin caused by weight loss.
