U-V521S-MBLK High Performance Light
Product Information
This product is a high-performance E-Bike front light from Supernova. The light is available in three different models: MINI 2, MINI 2 PRO, and V521s. It has a Terraflux 4 lens and comes with a 5-year warranty. The light is powered by a Bosch E-Bike system of the second generation onwards and has a power connector cable that is compatible with Bosch systems. The product also includes a Fernlichttaster high beam switch, MSH22 mounting bracket, and a blue/red cable for tail light connection.
Product Usage Instructions
Before using the Supernova E-Bike front light, please ensure that your E-Bike has a Bosch system of the second generation onwards. The light is not compatible with Brose motors or Bosch systems of the first generation.
To install the front light, use the MSH22 mounting bracket to attach it to your E-Bike. Connect the power connector cable to the Bosch system and use the Fernlichttaster high beam switch to turn on and off the light.
It is important to note that aggressive cleaners or alcohol-containing fluids should not be used to clean the lens of the front light as they may cause damage. The front light is also not suitable for use with the Brose motor.
If you have purchased the V1280 model, connect the blue/red cable to the tail light connection (6/12V) and use the blue indicator light to activate the high beam function.
Please refer to the E3 Tail Light Manual for more information on connecting the tail light.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
VALID FOR ALL FRONT LIGHTS

To ensure the correct function and to preserve the longevity of the front light only Supernova rear lights should be used.

Always connect the front and rear light with the 2-core wire (no mass connection to the frame!).

Please note: Any kind of short circuit will severely impair the function of the light.
Please always insulate unused cable ends of the front light if the rear light is not installed. -
The cable exits have to point downwards to keep the housings waterproof.

Never use a high-pressure hose to clean the light.
LEGAL INFORMATION
Only approved for use on bicycles with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h, which
have their own battery charge status display and an automatic engine shutdown
to avoid deep discharge of the battery. For bicycles with electric pedal
assistance, the supply for the lighting system via a coupling to the energy
storage for the drive can be made if after discharge-related shutdown of the
backup drive nor an uninterrupted power supply of the lighting system is
guaranteed for at least two hours and / or the drive mo-tor can be used as an
alternator transitional to continue to power the lighting system. The
headlight only works when the external power supply is activated. It turns off
when disabled.
PLEASE NOTE! The 6 V light port of the Bosch E-Bike system of the first generation is not strong enough to power E3 E-Bike front lights and can be damaged. 2nd generation Bosch systems have been adapted to work with Supernova lights. The light is switched on and off with the main E-Bike control unit. The light is also not suitable for Brose motors.
- Never use a high-pressure hose to clean the light. The lens is held in place with a spring in some lights and the pressure of a water jet could push it back – water will get into the sealed housing and cannot get out again.
- Rear lights of other manufacturers must not be grounded on the frame.
- The electronics and the lens can be damaged by opening the housing of the light.
- The warranty is void if the housing is opened.
- Lamp-body should not be assembled with the cable-outlet on top.
- Never look into the light. Even the stand light is dangerously bright.
- Only clean the light with water – not with aggressive cleaners or alcohol-containing fluids.

IMPORTANT! Please check if the light port is set to 6 V or 12 V or if it is activated at all. A certified e-bike dealer can check this for you. If another light was installed before, you can use that as voltage reference.

In order to protect the gold coating, we recommend not to disconnect the plug
connection to the high beam switch frequently.
ACTIVATING THE HIGH BEAM
The high beam switch activates and deactivates illumination above the dipped
beam’s light–dark threshold.
Please note that high beams dazzle oncoming drivers and must therefore be
switched off in situations posing this risk. The dipped beam is generated by 1
x 5 W LED. The high beam is generated by three additional LEDs and has a
consumption of 10 W.

- Never use a high-pressure hose
- Clean the front glass with water and a soft, clean cloth
- Do not use aggressive cleaning agents (also no alcohol!)
- Check the mounting bolts from time to time
