Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before using the fan, carefully read the safety instructions in the user manual and store them for future reference.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  •  Before use, always check that the appliance, plug and power cord are in good condition
    The appliance must be used in normal conditions of use as defined in this notice. For models VU/VF687x the appliance must be used with the air-inlet grids fitted and the closure system in the closed position.

  • Never allow water to get into the appliance.

  • The appliance must not be used without the grids.

  • Do not touch the appliance with wet hands.

  •  Never insert objects into the appliance (e.g. needles…).

  • Children should be supervised to ensure they do not put their fingers through the safety grids.

  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  • Your device must be unplugged before any maintenance.

For countries subject to European regulations (CE)

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

For other countries :

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Only use on 220-240V, 50Hz power supply.
    The electrical facilities of the room, as well as the installation and use of the appliance must comply with the standards in force in your country.

  • Do not use your appliance near inflammable objects or products. In general, you should always place the appliance at least 50 cm away from any object (walls, curtains, aerosols, etc.).

  • Do not pull on the power cord or the appliance, even when unplugging it from a wall socket.
    This appliance is designed for indoor domestic household use only. In case of professional use, inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the guarantee does not apply.

  • Always unroll the power cord completely before use.

  • Do not use the appliance in a dusty room or a location where there is a risk of fire.

  • This appliance must not be used in a humid environment..

  • The warranty will be invalidated if damage occurs due to incorrect use.

FIRST USE

Before first use, ensure that the voltage, frequency and power of your appliance are suitable for your electrical supply.
Your appliance can function using an unearthed plug. It is a class II (double insulation ).

Before switching on your appliance, ensure that :

  • The appliance is completely assembled as described in the safety instructions,
  • The appliance is placed on a stable, horizontal surface,
  • The appliance is positioned in accordance with the instructions given in this manual. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FORCE OSCILLATION MANUALLY.
  • APPLIANCE(S) WITH REMOTE CONTROL (VU/VF687X) :
    VU/VF687x : The remote control uses 2 alkaline batteries of type ‘AAA’ which are included.
    Place the battery in its compartment making sure that you put it in with the positive and negative ends the right way round as shown in the battery compartment.

IMPORTANT: You are advised to switch off and unplug the appliance when not in use. When storing the appliance for a longer period of time, please remove the battery from the remote control.

  • Check battery regularly for signs of expiry.
  • EXPLOSION HAZARD! Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries, short-circuit and / or open batteries. This can cause them to overheat, burn or burst. Never throw batteries into fire or water. The batteries may explode.
  • If batteries have leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the affected areas with fresh water and seek medical attention!
  • Leaked or damaged batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs.
  • In the event of a leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries, immediately remove them from the product to prevent damage.

IN CASE OF ANY PROBLEM

Do not disassemble the appliance yourself. A poorly repaired appliance may be dangerous for the user. Do not use the appliance and contact an Approved Service Centre if :

  • your appliance has been dropped;
  • your appliance or its power cord are damaged;
  • your appliance no longer functions properly.

Take it to a collection point or an approved service centre for processing.
