The SIMOLIO JH-202D is a Bluetooth transmitter receiver with audio bypass function. It comes with an ON/OFF switch, a TX/Bypass/RX switch, an AUX output to speaker, an optical output to speaker, a USB & power in, an optical input from TV, an AUX input from TV, and an antenna.

Product Usage

Step 1: Connect Bluetooth headphones to SIMOLIO JH-202D

  1. Turn on SIMOLIO JH-202D and set TX/Bypass/RX switch to RX mode
  2. Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the PAIR button for 3 seconds, the transmitter will enter pairing mode with RED and BLUE LED flashing alternately
  3. Search for Bluetooth devices on your headphones and select “SIMOLIO JH-202D” to connect
  4. The LED indicator will turn solid blue when connected successfully

Step 2: Connect SIMOLIO JH-202D transmitter to your device

  1. Turn on SIMOLIO JH-202D and set TX/Bypass/RX switch to TX mode
  2. Connect the transmitter to your device using the appropriate interface (OPT, AUX or USB)
  3. Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the PAIR button for 3 seconds, the transmitter will enter pairing mode with RED and BLUE LED flashing alternately
  4. Search for Bluetooth devices on your receiving device and select “SIMOLIO JH-202D” to connect
  5. The LED indicator will turn solid blue when connected successfully

Step 3: Use SIMOLIO JH-202D as Bluetooth receiver with audio bypass function

  1. Turn on SIMOLIO JH-202D and set TX/Bypass/RX switch to Bypass mode
  2. Connect the transmitter to your audio source using the appropriate interface (OPT or AUX)
  3. Connect your speaker or soundbar to SIMOLIO JH-202D using the AUX output to speaker or optical output to speaker interface
  4. The audio signal will bypass through SIMOLIO JH-202D and transmit the signal to your headphones or other Bluetooth devices

Note:

  • When using low latency priority, it is recommended to connect to TVs or other suitable audio devices that support aptX LL
  • When using HD priority, it is recommended to connect to audio sources that support aptX HD
  • If you want to clear pairing history, press and hold the PAIR button for 10 seconds until the RED and BLUE LED flashes out

Use SIMOLIO JH-202D as Bluetooth Transmitter

(TX Mode)
Connect Bluetooth Headphones to SIMOLIO JH-202D

Power and Turn on SIMOLIO JH-202D
Plug the supplied USB cable to a compatible TV USB or USB power adapter(5V 500mA-2A), plug the other end of the USB cable into the port labeled “USB & POWER IN”. Then slide the ON/OFF switch to “ON”. Slide the TX/Bypass/RX switch to “TX & Bypass”.

Get SIMOLIO JH-202D into Pairing Mode
When using the transmitter for the first time, or after the pairing history of SIMOLIO Bluetooth transmitter is cleared, the transmitter will automatically enter pairing mode after being powered on. Bluetooth indicator will flash RED and BLUE alternately.
For non-first time use, please press and hold the “PAIR” for 3 seconds until the Bluetooth indicator flashes red and blue alternately.

Get Bluetooth Headphones into Pairing Mode
For this part, please refer to your headphones’ user manual for instructions. In most cases, Bluetooth headphones enter pairing mode when the headphones’ LED flash red and blue alternately, or when it flashes blue quickly.

Connecting 1st Bluetooth Headphones to SIMOLIO JH-202D
During the pairing process, please bring the 1st Bluetooth headphones close to SIMOLIO
JH-202D and wait. After connection, the Bluetooth indicator on SIMOLIO JH-202D will turn SOLID blue.

Connecting 2nd Bluetooth Headphones to SIMOLIO JH-202D
After the first headphones are connected to SIMOLIO JH-202D, press and hold the PAIR button for 3 seconds until Bluetooth indicator flash RED and Blue alternately. Get the headphones into the pairing mode. Bring the 2nd headphones close to SIMOLIO JH-202D and wait. After connection, the Bluetooth indicator on the transmitter will turn SOLID purple.
NOTE:

  • a. SIMOLIO JH-202D will not enter pairing mode if there are already two sets of Bluetooth headphones connected to it.
  • b. If Bluetooth headphones support LL and HD, SIMOLIO JH-202D will automatically select and go into LL. You may select “HD” while streaming musical content with HD quality, and select “LL” while watching TV programs or films, etc…
  • c. With dual streaming, please make sure that BOTH sets of Bluetooth headphones are aptX LL supported. If either set of the Bluetooth headphones do not support LL codec, aptX LL codec will not be available.

Connect SIMOLIO JH-202D Transmitter to Your Device

Choose your TV/Audio Source Output Options Before Setup

Connect SIMOLIO JH-202D to Your TVs

  1. Optical Connection & Coxial Optical Connection (Ref. Fig 2)
  • Select OPT via “OPT/AUX/USB” switch; use the supplied optical cable to connect JH-202D to your TV as in Fig 2 Option A.
  • If your TV has a Coaxial Audio Out Port, please perform the connection as shown in Fig 2 Option B. DAC needs to be purchased separately.
  • If your TV only has a Digital Optical Audio Out port and it is currently occupied by soundbar, you may refer to Part 7 on Page 16 in this manual.

Note:

  1. Please check and remove the protective plastic caps from both ends of the optical digital audio cable.
  2. Ensure “TV Audio Format” is set to “PCM” or “Dolby/DTS” is OFF (This is IMPORTANT.) (Ref. Fig 3)
  3. Ensure your TV speaker is set to “External Speakers”, or other suitable selections. (Ref. Fig 4)
  4. Please place the transmitter away from Router/ smart WiFi TV/TV sticks/WiFi TV box to avoid interference.
  5. PCM setting and TV speaker setting differ from TV brands and models. For more information, please refer to your TV manual or consult your TV manufacturer.

RCA Analog Connection (Ref. Fig 5)
Select AUX via “OPT/AUX/USB” switch; use the red and white RCA cable to connect the transmitter to your TV as shown in Fig 5 (must be red and white ports labeled “AUDIO OUT” or “OUTPUT” on the back of the TV/TV box (cable/satellite box/DVD etc).
Note:

  1. Make sure to use TV Red/White ports labeled “AUDIO OUT” or “OUTPUT”, other Red/White ports are incorrect. (Ref. Fig 6)
  2. Ensure your TV speaker is set to “External Speakers”, or other suitable selections.
  3. Please place the transmitter away from Router/smart WiFi TV/TV sticks/WiFi TV box to avoid interference.
  4. TV speaker settings differ from TV brands and models. For more information, please refer to your TV manual or consult your TV manufacturer.

Note:
If your TV only support single sound out, the TV’s speakers will be either automatically muted when you plug something into an audio out port (Optical/AUX/RCA, etc.) or they become disabled once you choose “External Speakers” as your TV’s audio output. It depends on TV circuit design.

3.5 AUX Connection & Connecting with AVR Using 6.35 Phone Jack
Select AUX via “OPT/AUX/USB” switch; use the 3.5mm AUX cable to connect the transmitter to your TV as shown in Fig 7 Option A.
If you are connecting the transmitter to your AV receiver’s 6.35mm BIG PHONE JACK, purchase a 6.35mm to 3.5mm adapter and perform the connection as shown in Fig 7 Option B.SIMOLIO-JH-202D-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver

Note:

  1. Ensure your TV speaker is set to “Headset”, or other suitable selection.
  2. You may plug a wired headset/earphone into the 3.5mm audio out port of theTV/ TV box (cable/satellite box/DVD etc) to test whether if you can hear the sound. (Ref. Fig 9)
  3. Please place the transmitter away from Router/ smart WiFi TV/TV sticks/WiFi TV box to avoid interference.
  4. TV speaker setting differ from TV brands and models. For more information, please refer to your TV manual or consult your TV manufacturer.
  5. Connect to TV & DVD/STB/other devices at the same time (Ref. Fig 2-12), just press OPT or AUX according to the audio source being played, avoiding repeated unplugging and connecting between different audio sources(Ref. Fig 10)

Connect SIMOLIO JH-202D to Your PC/Laptop

Select “USB” via “OPT/AUX/USB” switch and the USB LED will light up white. Then use the supplied USB cable to connect SIMOLIO
JH-202D Bluetooth transmitter to your PC/Laptop.

Please note:
If the USB cable you used for connection is not the supplied one, please make sure that the USB cable supports both data syncing and power charging.

Disconnect and Reconnect in TX Mode

To disconnect, you may either turn off Bluetooth receiver, or the Bluetooth on the transmitting device like cell phone, PC, etc…

Reconnect
SIMOLIO JH-202D will automatically connect to the last paired devices after both devices are powered on. If not, please restart either the Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth transmitter.

Use SIMOLIO JH-202D as Bluetooth Receiver (RX Mode)

Power on and Set up SIMOLIO JH-202D Bluetooth Receiver

  • Step 1: Connect Bluetooth receiver to a power source using the supplied USB cable. (Ref. Fig12) SIMOLIO JH-202D
  • Step 2: Connect your speaker to Simolio JH-202D Bluetooth receiver using one of the three audio cables provided (optical/RCA/3.5mm AUX). (Ref. Fig 13)
  • Step 3: Switch the “ON/OFF” switch to “ON” position. You will hear “Power on” from your speaker.
    Please note: The receiver will automatically power off if there is no connection for 10 minutes.
    To use it again, switch the receiver off first, and then on again.

Connect SIMOLIO JH-202D to Bluetooth-enabled Device

  • Step 1: Activate Bluetooth on your phone, PC, Tablet, etc. The following paths are popular: (Ref. Fig 14) iPhone: Settings>Bluetooth>Bluetooth: On; Andriod: Settings>Bluetooth: On>Scan for devices (Operation may vary slightly across devices. For more details, please refer to your device’s user manual)
  • Step 2: Select “SIMOLIO 202” from the available devices on your phone, PC, Tablet, etc. (You may confirm the pairing status on your phone)
  • Step 3: Once successfully paired, you will hear “Connected”. The Bluetooth indicator will turn solid blue.

Disconnect and Reconnect in RX Mode

  • Disconnect: To disconnect, you may either turn off Simolio Bluetooth receiver, or the Bluetooth on the transmitting device like cell phone, PC, etc…
  • Reconnect: Turn it on again, and Simolio will automatically reconnect with last paired device. If not, please reboot the Simolio receiver.
    Note : Simolio JH-202D cannot connect to 2 transmitting devices simultaneously (like smart phone, tablet, PC, iPad). To connect Simolio to a different transmitting device, first make sure Simolio is disconnected, then re-enter the Simolio into pairing mode by pressing and holding the“PAIR”button for 5 seconds until the RED and BLUE LED flashing alternately quickly.

Use Bypass Function

Bypass mode allows you to stream audio from TV AND TV speakers /sound bar via cable simultaneously. It works under TX & Bypass mode and Bypass only mode. In Bypass only mode, only Bypass works. In TX mode, Bluetooth transmitting function and Bypass can work at the same time.

Bypass ONlY Mode:

  • Step 1: Power on SIMOLIO JH-202D: connect SIMOLIO JH-202D Bluetooth receiver to a compatible USB power adapter(5V 500mA-2A), plug the other end of the USB cable into the port labeled “USB & Power IN”.
  • Step 2: Switch the “ON/OFF” switch to “ON”, and switch “TX&bypass/RX”to “Bypass”, Bypass LED indicator will light up solid white.
  • Step 3: Connect SIMOLIO JH-202D to the speakers or other suitable audio devices using any of the three audio cables as shown in Fig 13 on Page 14. (Ref. Fig13)

TX+Bypass Mode

  • Step 1 : Power on SIMOLIO JH-202D: connect SIMOLIO JH-202D Bluetooth receiver to a compatible USB power adapter(5V 500mA-2A), plug the other end of the USB cable into the port labeled “USB & Power IN”.
  • Step 2: Switch the “ON/OFF” switch to “ON”, and switch “TX&bypass/RX to “TX&bypass”, TX LED indicator will light up solid white.
  • Step 3: Connect your TV, DVD, CD player or other suitable audio devices to the “OPTICAL INPUT FROM TV” or “AUX INPUT FROM TV” on SIMOLIO JH-202D, select “OPT” or “AUX” audio input via “OPT/AUX/USB” button accordingly.

Connect SIMOLIO JH-202D to the speakers or other suitable audio devices using any of the three audio cables.
Please note in this TX+ bypass mode, it will only work when:SIMOLIO-JH-

Clear Pairing History

Disconnect all the Bluetooth devices connected, press and hold the “Bluetooth Button” simultaneously for 10 seconds until the Bluetooth indicator flashes red and blue alternately. After the pairing history is cleared, SIMOLIO JH- 202D will automatically enter pairing mode, with Bluetooth indicator flash RED and BLUE alternately.

Troubleshooting

When used as Bluetooth transmitter

Bluetooth headphones are far from SIMOLIO JH-202D.

| Move the Bluetooth headphones closer to the transmitter. Please note that work range is decided by both devices on both ends. You may test the workrange of your Bluetooth headphones with your cell phone, for example.
Unstable Bluetooth connection.| Reset the transmitter and Bluetooth devices. / Clear pairing history and repair.
Physical obstacles or wireless signal interference.| Remove obstacles, and put the transmitter away from the interference sources, including Router/ smart WiFi TV/TV sticks/WiFi TV box…, if any.
Faulty audio out port.| Check by connecting SIMOLIO to another audio source, or check via wired headphones if you are using the AUX port for connection.
Loose audio cable connection between TV and transmitter.| Make sure the connection is firm between the transmitter and TV/other audio source.
