SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND DELIVER TO OWNER AFTER INSTALLATION
- To reduce the risk of death, personal injury or property damage from fire, electric shock, falling parts, cuts/abrasions, and other hazards please read all warnings and instructions included with and on the fixture box and all fixture labels.
- Before installing, servicing, or performing routine maintenance upon this equipment, follow these general precautions.
- Installation and service of luminaires should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician.
- Maintenance of the luminaires should be performed by person(s) familiar with the luminaires’ construction and operation and any hazards involved. Regular fixture maintenance programs are recommended.
- It will occasionally be necessary to clean the outside of the refractor/lens. Frequency of cleaning will depend on ambient dirt level and minimum light output which is acceptable to user. Refractor/lens should be washed in a solution of warm water and any mild, non-abrasive household detergent, rinsed with clean water and wiped dry. Should optical assembly become dirty on the inside, wipe refractor/lens and clean in above manner, replacing damaged gaskets as necessary.
- DO NOT INSTALL DAMAGED PRODUCT! This luminaire has been properly packed so that no parts should have been damaged during transit. Inspect to confirm. Any part damaged or broken during or after assembly should be replaced.

- Disconnect or turn off power before installation or servicing.
- Verify that supply voltage is correct by comparing it with the luminaire label information.
- Make all electrical and grounded connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local code requirements.
- All wiring connections should be capped with UL approved recognized wire connectors.
- LUMINAIRES WIRING, POWER SUPPLY OR OTHER ELECTRICAL PARTS MAY BE DAMAGED WHEN INSTALLING RETROFIT HARDWARE. INSPECT WIRING AND COMPONENTS FOR DAMAGE.
- INSTALLATION OF THIS RETROFIT ASSEMBLY REQUIRES A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF THE LUMINAIRES ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND THE HAZARD INVOLVED. IF YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED, DO NOT ATTEMPT INSTALLATION. CONTACT A QUALIFIED PERSON.

- ONLY THOSE OPEN HOLES INDICATED IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS AND/OR DRAWINGS MAY BE MADE OR ALTERED AS A RESULT OF KIT INSTALLATION. DO NOT LEAVE ANY OTHER OPEN HOLES IN AN ENCLOSURE OF WIRING OR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS.
- DO NOT MAKE OR ALTER ANY OPEN HOLES IN AN ENCLOSURE OF WIRING OR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS DURING KIT INSTALLATION.
- WARNING – TO PREVENT WIRING DAMAGE OR ABRASION, DO NOT EXPOSE WIRING TO EDGES OF SHEET METAL OR OTHER SHARP OBJECTS.
- THE RETROFIT KIT IS ACCEPTED AS A COMPONENT OF A LUMINAIRE WHERE THE SUITABILITY OF THE COMBINATION SHALL BE DETERMINDED BY AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION.
- INSTALLERS SHOULD NOT DISCONNECT EXISTING WIRES FROM LAMPHOLDER TERMINALS TO MAKE NEW CONNECTIONS AT THE LAMPHOLDER. REMOVE EXISTING LAMPHOLDERS AND LEADS AND MAKE NEW CONNECTIONS USING CONNECTORS SUITABLE FOR THE APPLICATION.

- Avoid direct eye exposure to the light source while it is on.

CAUTION: RISK OF PRODUCT DAMAGE
- Never connect components under load.
- Do not mount or support these fixtures in a manner that can cut the outer jacket or damage wire insulation.
- Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Never connect an LED product directly to dimmer packs, occupancy sensors, timing devices, or other related control devices. LED fixtures must be powered directly off a switched circuit.
- Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Do not restrict fixture ventilation. Allow for some volume of airspace around fixture. Avoid covering LED fixtures with insulation, foam, or other material that will prevent convection or conduction cooling.
- Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Do not exceed fixtures maximum ambient temperature.
- Only use fixture in its intended location.
- LED products are Polarity Sensitive. Ensure proper Polarity before installation.
- Electrostatic Discharge (ESD): ESD can damage LED fixtures. Personal grounding equipment must be worn during all installation or servicing of the unit.
- Do not touch individual electrical components as this can cause ESD, shorten lamp life, or alter performance.
- Some components inside the fixture may not be serviceable. In the unlikely event your unit may require service, stop using the unit immediately and contact an ABL representative for assistance.
- Always read the fixtures complete installation instructions prior to installation for any additional fixture specific warnings.

WARNING
Risk of fire or electric shock. Install this kit only in the luminaires that
have the construction features and dimensions shown in the photographs and/or
drawings.
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Product Description.
- The GlasWerks LED with bowl glass retrofit kit consists of an electrical assembly intended to replace an existing, installed GlasWerks II HID luminaire, see Figure 2.
- Retrofit kit mounts to existing, installed mounting cover (Pendant or Arm Mount), see Figure 1.
- The fixture includes a plug-in electrical module that contains the photocontrol receptacle when specified.

INSTALLATION
2.1 Tools and Material Required.
- No tools required – Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit installation.
2.2 Fixture Installation.
2.2.1 Remove existing electrical assembly by unlatching the latch,
unplugging terminal block connector and lifting electrical assembly off hinge.
See Figure 3.
2.2.2 On new electrical assembly, units supplied with a photocontrol
receptacle require a shorting plug or a twist lock photo control to be
installed. Install the device by twisting it clockwise, See Figure 4.
CAUTION
A PHOTO CONTROL THAT MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF ANSI C136.10 AND WITH A CLEAR
WINDOW ON THE SIDE THAT EXPOSES THE PHOTOCELL MUST BE USED.
2.2.3 A new nameplate label is supplied with the retrofit electrical
assembly. Place new retrofit label in the general location as shown in Figure
3. Do not remove the old luminaire labels.
2.2.4 Install the retrofit electrical assembly and reconnect terminal
block connector. Ensure wires are secured to prevent pinching as assembly is
closed. Latch electrical assembly to the mounting cover. See Figure 3.
MAINTENANCE
3.1 Electrical Component Replacement.
3.1.1 Disconnect power to the unit prior to opening and performing any
maintenance.
3.1.2 Unlatch Cover from the electrical assembly and let swing down.
3.1.3 Unplug the terminal plug connector, see Figure 4.
3.1.4 Photocontrol Replacement, see Figure 4.
The photocontrol is removed by twisting it counterclockwise. Replace with
Holophane approved photocontrol. If no other components are to be replaced go
to Section 3.2.9.
3.1.5 Surge Protector Replacement, see Figure 4.
Disconnect surge protector via wiring quick disconnect. Remove screw securing
surge protector and retain. Carefully remove the surge protector and install
Holophane approved surge protector in the same orientation with original
screw.
3.1.6 LED Driver or Dimming Control Replacement, see Figure 4.
Remove electrical module by loosening two retaining screws. Slide electrical
module around screw heads using keyholes. Lift electrical module and
disconnect optical connector. To replace individual electrical components, tag
all leads that will be disconnected and note orientation and position of all
components that will be replaced and fasteners holding them. Remove the
components to be replaced.
Replace with Holophane supplied electrical components, positioning the new
component exactly as the old. Secure with the original hardware and tighten
all fasteners securely. Reconnect wiring per earlier applied tags and
according industry accepted wiring techniques. Bundle and secure wires as
before ensuring no pinched wires.
3.1.7 Electrical Module Replacement, see Figure 4.
Remove electrical module by loosening two retaining screws. Slide electrical
module around screw heads using keyholes. Lift electrical module and
disconnect optical connector. Replace module with new or electrical module
using only Holophane approved components.
Reconnect optical connector then install new electrical module around mounting
screws. Tighten screws securely.
3.1.8 Reconnect the electrical assembly connector to the terminal block
connector and latch mounting cover to the electrical assembly.
3.1.9 Electrically energize the fixture and check for proper operation.

Field Adjustable Output Module
The Field Adjustable Output (AO) module is an onboard device that adjusts the
light output and input wattage to meet site specific requirements, allowing a
single fixture configuration to be flexibly applied in many different
applications. The AO option is available on the GBLF2RETRO, GPLF2RETRO,
GNLF2RETRO, GELF2RETRO and GSLF2RETRO series. The following data is for the AS
and AH voltage options.
