USER INSTRUCTIONS

Please read this instruction manual carefully before using the heater for the first time and always keep these instructions.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using the Quartz Heater, the following safety precautions should always be followed:

  1. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  3. The product is for household use only.
  4. Connect the appliance to a single-phase AC supply of the voltage specified on the rating plate.
  5. In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
  6. Never leave the heater unattended while it is in use. Always turn the product to the OFF position and unplug it from the electrical outlet when not in use.
  7. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children, invalids or elderly people and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
  8. The heater must not be located immediately below an electrical socket outlet.
  9. Do not run cord under carpeting and do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners or the like. Arrange cord away from traffic areas and where it will not be tripped over.
  10. Do not operate the heater with a damaged cord or plug, or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped, or damaged in any manner.
  11. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer’s service agent or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.
  12. Avoid the use of an extension cord as this may overheat and cause a risk of fire.
  13. The heater should only be used on flat, dry surfaces.
  14. Do not place this heater near flammable materials, surfaces or substances, as there may be a risk of fire. Keep the above flammable materials, surfaces or substances at least 1 m from the front of the product and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  15. Do not use the heater in any areas where petrol, paint or other flammable liquids are stored e.g. Garages or workshops.
  16. Don’t use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool. Never position the heater where it may fall into a bathtub or any body of water.
  17. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns and personal injury, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handles when moving the product.
  18. Be sure that no other appliances are in use on the same electrical circuit, as an overload can occur.
  19. After switching on or off the appliance it is possible to hear a slight noise (click) due to the heating or the cooling of the appliance. This is normal.

Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer or any other device that switches the heater on or off automatically, as this could cause a fire risk if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Before using the heater verify that the appliance and cable are not damaged. In case of doubt, call a qualified electrician.
  • Do not place this heater near flammable materials, surfaces or substances, as there may be a risk of fire. Keep the above flammable materials, surfaces or substances at least 1 m from the front of the product and 0.5 m from the sides and rear.
  • Place the heater on a steady, horizontal, flat surface to ensure the safety tip-over switch is in contact with the floor or this will prevent the heater from working.
  • Make sure the cable is positioned to prevent contact with the hot surfaces of the heater. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
  • Do not use the appliance with a timer or a programmer or with a system that can switch on the appliance automatically, to avoid the risk of fire.
  • Do not hang anything on or in front of the quartz heater.
  • Kindly revert to the repairs policy should the heater not function correctly

SAFETY TIP – OVER SWITCH

This heater has a safety tip-over switch, which activates if the radiator is tilted or toppled over to prevent a fire hazard.

STEPLESS SWITCH

The varied temperature control allows you to adjust the temperature setting in the room to any desired level. The rated power of the elements is from 600 W – 2400 W.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Unplug the heater before cleaning and wait till the heater has cooled.
  • Only the exterior of the heater requires regular cleaning.
  • Use a damp cloth to clean the heater.

WARNINGS

  1. Do not immerse the heater in water.
  2. Do not use any cleaning chemicals such as detergents and abrasives.
  3. Do not allow the interior to get wet as this could create a hazard.
  4. This heater is not equipped with a thermostat to regulate the room temperature.
  5. Do not leave the Heater unattended while in use.
  6. In case of malfunction or doubt, do not try to repair the radiator yourself, it may result in a fire hazard or electric shock.

CONFORMITY WITH DIRECTIVES

This product is CE marked to denote conformity with Directives 2006/95/EC (Low Voltage) and the EMC directive (2004/108/EC), as amended.

Please remember to respect the local regulations: hand in the non-working electrical equipment to an appropriate waste disposal centre.

2 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

The Manufacturer hereby provides a warranty to the original purchaser of this product (‘the consumer’) that this product will be free of manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship which under normal, personal, family or household use (commercial use expressly excluded) manifest themselves within the 2 year from the date of purchase.

EXCLUSIONS
  • The warranty does not include and will not be construed to cover products damaged as a result of disaster, misuse, commercial use, not in accordance within the written instructions included with the product, abuse and/or any non-authorised modification of the product, incorrect installation of the product or normal wear and tear.
  • Insect infestation of the electrical or motor makes the claim invalid.
WAIVER

The warranty and the obligations of the Manufacturer provided herein are in lieu of, and the consumer, waives all other warranties, guarantees, conditions or liabilities, express or implied, arising by law or otherwise, including without limitation, any obligation of the manufacturer in respect of any injury, loss or damage (direct, indirect or consequential) arising out of the use of, or inability to use this product and whether or not occasioned by the manufacturer’s negligence or any act or omission on its part.

ROOF OF PURCHASE

Any claim in terms of the warranty must be supported by a proof of purchase. If such proof is not available, then not withstanding anything to the contrary herein, the service agent’s prevailing charges for services/repairs and/or spares will be payable by the Consumer upon collection of the repaired product. The Consumer should call the Pick n Pay CUSTOMER CARE number on 0860 30 30 30 (only in South Africa). Customers residing outside South Africa may return the product back to a Pick n Pay store. During the warranty period the product may only be serviced and/or repaired by the Manufacturer’s duly authorised agent(s).

REPAIRS PROCEDURE

Should you experience any faults on your Aim product, please adhere to the following procedure to have the fault rectified speedily and professionally.
You can return the product to the store.
Call the Pick n Pay CUSTOMER CARE number on 0860 30 30 30 (only in South Africa) to report the fault and make arrangements for the next steps.

Note: Should you live in an outlying area or outside South Africa, it may be necessary to return the product to the store nearest to you.

COST OF REPAIRS

UNDER WARRANTY
Any items still under warranty will be repaired free of charge, as long as it complies with the terms and conditions of the warranty (refer to “warranties” section in this manual). Any items that need to be repaired that are NOT covered in the warranty will be for the consumer’s expense. A quote for the repair/replacement of these items will be provided to the consumer for approval prior to repairs being conducted.

OUT OF WARRANTY
Any items that need to be repaired once the warranty has expired will be for the consumer’s expense including call out fees. A quote for the repair/replacement of these items will be provided to the consumer for approval prior to repairs being conducted.
