PENTAIR PL Series Thermoplastic Convertible Deep Well Jet Pump
Product Information
The product is a pump that requires assembly before operation. The package includes a Pressure Gauge, Reducer Bushing, and Regulator that need to be installed on the pump before use. The pump is suitable for use in shallow or deep wells but requires an adjustment of the regulator before use in deep well applications. The pump body has a top where the Reducer Bushing and Pressure Gauge are installed. The Pressure Regulator assembly is installed on the pump body, and a rubber gasket must be installed for a proper seal.
Product Usage Instructions
Before using the pump, follow the assembly instructions provided below:
- Install the Reducer Bushing and Pressure Gauge in the top of the pump body as shown in the manual.
- Wrap threads with PTFE pipe thread sealant tape provided with the pump to prevent leakage.
- Install the Pressure Regulator assembly to the pump where shown. Use a wrench or similar tool on hex area and tighten just enough to slightly compress rubber gasket. Do not over-tighten!
- Adjust the regulator according to the instructions provided in the owner’s manual if using the pump in deep well applications.
After completing the above steps, the pump is ready for use. Note that the Pressure Gauge, Reducer Bushing, and Regulator are packaged unassembled to prevent damage during shipment and must be installed on the pump before operation.

- Install Reducer Bushing and Pressure Gauge in top of pump body as shown. Wrap threads with PTFE pipe thread sealant tape provided with pump to prevent leakage.
- Install Pressure Regulator assembly to pump where shown. Rubber gasket must be installed for a proper seal. Use a wrench or similar tool on hex area and tighten just enough to slightly compress rubber gasket. Do not over tighten!
- Regulator is pre-adjusted for shallow well operation only. Refer to owner’s manual for proper regulator adjustment in deep well applications.
