Scope of use
This pool solar heater is designed to heat pool water. The unit has been developed for private use and not for industrial or commercial purposes. The unit must not be installed in the domestic water network (drinking water).
Scope of supply and optional accessories
Included in the product scope of supply are: Solar heater with connections, hose clamps and a user manual. Check the scope of supply for completeness. If possible, retain the packaging until your guarantee has expired. Dispose of packing materials in an environmentally friendly manner. Additional accessories may be required depending on the application. In our T.I.P. Pool range you will find other useful accessories that simplify installation, improve maintenance and pool cleaning and make it more efficient; e.g. solar pool liners from the SFF series, pool filter systems from the SPF series or pool pumps from the SPP series and pool hoses Ø 32 or 38 mm.
Location and function
Installation location of the pool heater
The pool heater should be placed on a stable, horizontal and solid base. Make
sure that the unit is always in full sunlight for best results. Position the
unit and connection hoses safely and sufficiently away from the pool so that
there is no danger of tripping. How the pool solar heater works The incoming
water is pumped through the unit with the aid of an external pump, heated by
solar energy and then fed back into the pool. With the help of the telescopic
feet, the alignment can be optimally adjusted with regard to the angle of
incidence.

***** Based on 10 hours of operation in direct sunlight (outdoor temperature approx. 20 °C) per day (may vary due to weather changes). The pool was covered with a T.I.P. solar pool liner.
Installation
A pump and pool hoses (neither included in the scope of supply) are required to put the unit into operation. Install the unit between the pump or sand filter and the return flow to the pool using additional pool hoses. Close the inlet and return of the pump or filter circuit at the pool. Ensure that all lines carrying water are tightly sealed. Now the solar heater can be installed in the circuit. To do this, proceed as follows: Inlet and outlet are marked on the lower end of the heater, where the hose connections are also located. As seen from the front, on the left side is the input “IN” (input coming from the pump) and on the right side is the outlet “OUT” (outflow to the pool) (Fig. 1).
Remove the union nut on the inlet and outlet. Now fit the enclosed seals on
the hose connections as shown in Fig. 2. Check the seal for correct fit, if
necessary use some silicone grease for easier installation. Now connecting
pieces can be tightened with union nuts at the inlet and outlet. Avoid
excessive force when tightening the union
nuts, this could possibly lead to damage.
Now attach the pool hoses with the respective desired length to the connections and fix them with the help of the enclosed hose clamps (Fig. 3). Avoid excessive force when tightening the hose clamps, this could cause damage.
All connection lines must be tight, as leaking lines can impair performance and cause considerable damage. If necessary, use suitable sealing material to ensure that the installation is airtight. Do not use excessive force that can cause damage when tightening threaded unions. In addition, the connection lines must not have any kinks or a reverse gradient; this can lead to considerable power losses. Use connection lines that have the same diameter as the supply hose of the pump, (min. 32 mm). Next, fold the telescopic feet outwards. Now set the desired height of the feet. You can change the height of the unit as follows: Turn the lower part of the feet slightly to the left (anti-clockwise) to loosen it. Pull the telescopic feet to the desired length. Fix it by turning the lower part of the feet slightly to the right (clockwise) until the feet are firm again, as described in Fig. 4.
Translation of original operating instructions
To secure the feet, insert the enclosed cotter pin into the top of the fixing
unit (Fig. 5)
Finally, remove the protective film from the top. If the protective film on the top is not removed, only a very low or no heating output can be achieved. To achieve a higher heating output, it is possible to connect multiple modules in series with the aid of additional pool hoses. However, depending on the pump capacity or filter system, we recommend connecting a maximum of 4 units. Since the passage through the solar heater can reduce the flow rate within the filter circuit, it is recommended in these cases to integrate the solar heater into the filter circuit with a bypass solution. To do this, install a T-piece in the connection area between the pump and the solar heater to allow only part of the circulated water to flow through the unit and the rest directly into the pool. This connection method is optimal if the respective flow rates can be regulated and, for example, a 3-way tap is installed instead of the T-piece. To prevent heat loss overnight, cover your pool with our solar pool liners, for example.
Maintenance and care
The entire connection system must be protected from freezing.
We are not liable for damage resulting from improper repair attempts or faulty installation. Damage resulting from improper repair attempts or installation will void all warranty claims.
Regular cleaning and gentle care reduces the risk of possible malfunctions and contributes to lengthening the service life of your unit. Do not clean the unit with aggressive liquids, but only with a soft cloth. Users should ensure that maintenance work is carried out by qualified persons and that these persons have carefully read the instructions for installation and maintenance in the first instance. If the unit is not used for a longer period of time, the unit should be emptied. In the event of frost, any remaining water can cause considerable damage by freezing. Store the unit in a dry, frost proof place. When you start the unit up again, make sure that all seals and O-rings are in good condition. Replace damaged or worn seals.
Troubleshooting/recommendations
In the event of operating faults, first check whether there is an operating error or another cause that cannot be attributed to a defect in the unit. Some possible problems, possible causes and tips for their rectification are shown in the following list. If you cannot rectify a fault yourself, please contact the customer service department or your sales point. Further repairs may only be carried out by qualified personnel. Please be sure to note that in the event of damage as a result of improper repair attempts, all warranty claims will be voided and we will not be liable for any resulting damage.
