This Draper Tools manual describes the purpose of the product and contains all
the necessary information to ensure its correct and safe use. Following all
the instructions and guidance in this manual will ensure the safety of both
the product and the operator and increase the lifespan of the product.

Warranty
Draper Tools products are carefully tested and inspected before shipment and
are guaranteed to be free from defective materials and workmanship.
Should the tool develop a fault, return the complete tool to your nearest
distributor or contact Draper Tools directly.

Proof of purchase must be provided.
If, upon inspection, it is found that the fault occurring is due to defective
materials or workmanship, repairs will be carried out free of charge. This
warranty period covers parts and labour for 12 months from the date of
purchase.
Where tools have been hired out, the warranty period covers 90 days from the
date of purchase.
This warranty does not apply to any consumable parts, batteries or normal wear
and tear, nor does it cover any damage caused by misuse, careless or unsafe
handling, alterations, accidents, or repairs attempted or made by any
personnel other than the authorised Draper Tools repair agent.
In all cases, to make a claim for faulty workmanship or materials within the
standard warranty period, please contact or return the product to the place of
purchase. Proof of purchase may be required.
If the place of purchase is no longer trading or if you experience any
difficulties with your warranty, please contact Customer Services with the
product details and your proof of purchase. Contact details can be found at
the back of this manual.
Ifthe tool is not covered by the terms of this warranty, repairs and carriage
charges will be quoted and charged accordingly.
This warranty supersedes any other guarantees expressed or implied and
variations of its terms are not authorised.
Your Draper Tools guarantee is not effective until you can produce, upon
request, a dated receipt or invoice to verify your purchase within the
guarantee period.
Please note that this warranty is an additional benefit and does not affect
your statutory rights.

Product Introduction
4.1 Scope
This multipurpose tester may be used to indicate the power levels of dry cell
1.5V batteries (AAA, AA, C, D and button type), 9V batteries (PP3 and 6LR61),
and to test household and automotive fuses, domestic bulbs with bayonet
fitting, and push/screw-type torch light bulbs for continuity. Any other
application beyond the conditions established for use will be considered
misuse. Draper Tools accepts no responsibility for improper use of this
product.

4.3 Handling and Storage
Important: This is a precision instrument that may be damaged if dropped
or used with excessive force.

Before storing the product, remove the battery power supply.
CAUTION! DO NOT allow flat batteries to be stored inside the product. -
Store in a clean and dry location, out of reach of children.

Before each use, check the product for signs of damage or disrepair.
WARNING! DO NOT use the product if defects are present and withdraw it from service until it has been repaired. -
DO NOT allow the product to come into contact with water.

DO NOT test batteries that show signs of leakage.

ALWAYS ensure that batteries are tested at the correct polarity as indicated on the device.

DO NOT test items using contacts that are designed for other products.

ALWAYS ensure the correct battery is used in any battery-powered product.

Keep batteries and the tester out of reach of children.

WARNING! This product emits a sharp audible tone when testing continuity. DO NOT put the audio openings directly to your ear.

Operating Instructions
7.1 Installing the Battery
- Slide out the battery cover on the rear of the device.
- Connect a new QV battery (6F22 or equivalent) to the cable.
- Place the battery into the battery compartment and replace the battery cover.
7.2 Testing 1.5V Batteries (AAA, AA, C, D, etc.)
- Connect the 1.5V battery to the metal contacts (1), making sure that the positive terminal of the battery is connected to the positive contact of the tester (Fig. 1).
- To read the battery level, observe the position of the needle against the scale display band marked “1.5V*:
– GREEN: The battery level is good.
– YELLOW: The battery levelis low.
– RED: The battery level is very low and the battery cannot be used.
7.3 Testing 9V Batteries (6F22, OO6P, etc.)
- Connect the 9V battery to the metal contacts (4), making sure that the positive terminal of the battery is connected to the positive contact of the tester (Fig. 2).
- To read the battery level, observe the position of the needle against the scale display band marked “9V”:
– GREEN: The battery level is good.
– YELLOW: The battery level is low.
– RED: The battery level is very low and the battery cannot be used.
7.4 Testing Fuses
- Connect the two terminals of the fuse to the metal contacts (2) (Fig. 3).
- To read the state of the fuse, observe the position of the needle against the scale display band marked “Test continuity”:
– GREEN: The fuse may be used in an appropriate appliance.
– RED: The fuse is in an open circuit state.
7.5 Testing Bulbs
- Connect the two bulb terminals to two of the three metal contacts (3), depending on the type of bulb (Fig. 3).
- To read the state of the bulb, observe the position of the needle against the scale display band marked “Test continuity*:
– GREEN: The bulb may be used in an appropriate appliance.
– RED: The bulb is damaged and cannot be used.
7.6 Continuity Test
- Connect the test leads (8) to the plug-in jacks (6); the black test lead connects to the left jack, and the red test lead connects to the right jack.
- Connect the test leads across the circuit to be tested.
- The built-in buzzer will sound if the circuit’s resistance is less than 5,0000. If the resistance is 5,000-10,0000, the buzzer may or may not sound.
CAUTION! Before testing, disconnect all power to the circuit and discharge all capacitors thoroughly.
