Important: Use only secure communication channels (e.g. MyChart) to send and receive patient data.

For patients

  1. Establish secure patient communication portal
  2. Remove SD card from the device
  3. Insert SD card into SD card reader
  4. Click on the Attach Files icon
  5. Locate the SD card drive from the list on the left-hand side (may be named “RESMED”)
  6. Select:
    • SETTINGS folder
    • Identification.crc
    • Identification.tgt
    • STR.edf
    • Identification.json (Air11 only)
    • journal.jnl (Air11 only)
  7. Right-click the selection and choose
  8. Send To > Compressed (Zipped) Folder
  9. You may rename or accept the default file name
  10. Select the compressed zip file (e.g. TestPatient.zip)
  11. Attach compressed file and send secure message to the provider communication portal.

For providers HME/PHYSICIAN

Important: Before downloading the data onto the SD card, ensure that the SD card is blank.

  1. Insert blank SD card into SD card reader
  2. Open secure patient communication portal
  3. Open patient message with attachment with patient’s data
  4. Select the attached file, click on Save As and save file to the SD card from the list on the left-hand side
  5. Right-click the compressed file and choose Extract All
    • Select your SD card drive as the Destination Folder
    • Remove any default folder information and only use the drive (e.g. E:\)
  6. Open AirView™ or ResScan™ and download card data as normal.

It is preferable for patients to make an appointment with their provider to have their data securely downloaded from their SD card.
