FRIGIDAIRE FRTD2021AS Top Freezer Refrigerator
Before you start
Set up your refrigerator
Remove the tape and glue residue from surfaces before turning on the
refrigerator. Choose a place
near a grounded electrical outlet, allowing for clearances for ease of
installation, proper circulation,
and plumbing and electrical connections.
Before operating for the first time
After you remove all of the packaging materials, clean the inside of your
refrigerator before using it.
See the CARE AND CLEANING section in your Use & Care Manual.
You’re in control
Your refrigerator
controls
It’s easy! When first turning your appliance on, adjust the controls to the
factory set Recommended. After 24 hours, adjust the controls in small
increments (if desired), allowing the temperatures to stabilize. The
refrigerator control changes temperatures in both the refrigerator and the
freezer. The freezer control moves the damper in the freezer. Adjust the
freezer control toward Cold to open the damper, making the freezer
temperature warmer. Adjust it toward Coldest to close the damper, making
the freezer colder.
- Adjusting the refrigerator temperature control to OFF turns off the compressor and prevents the refrigerator from cooling, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb and other electrical components. To turn off power to your refrigerator, you must unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- For warmer temperatures, adjust the temperature toward Cold.
- Both the refrigerator and freezer controls can be left at the factory preset (Recommended) or adjusted as desired.
- For colder temperatures, adjust the setting toward Coldest.
Remember
For the best circulation, do not block cold air vents with food.

FAQs
Why does my refrigerator run most of the time? Is this normal?****
Today’s refrigerators are designed with a variable speed compressor to be more
energy efficient than previous models. This means that they run longer cycles,
or run continuously, to maintain an even temperature inside.
Please note: starting a unit takes about 10 times as much energy as it
does to keep it running.
Is it normal for my refrigerator to make noises?****
Your new high-efficiency refrigerator may make unfamiliar sounds due to the variable speed compressor. See the NORMAL OPERATING SOUNDS section of your Use & Care Manual.
