INTRODUCTION

We recommend all new users familiarise themselves with the correct use of this centrifuge first before use.

  1. Ensuring mains switch is in OFF position, connect power- lead plug to mains supply and the lead pin into its recess in the back of the centrifuge.
  2. Open lid and check rotor is firmly in position on motorVetlab-Supplies-Micro-Microcentrifuge-Range-FIG-2
  3. Keeping lid open, turn both power switch at the back of the unit and mains switch ‘ON’. Power indicator light should show on screen.
  4. Load rotor with sample tubes in a symmetrical weight pattern i.e. each sample tube must have another tube of similar weight (identical tube with similar sample volume) placed directly opposite it in the rotor, to ensure correct balance and safe running.
  5. Turn ‘Speed’ dial to desired speed in steps of 100 rpm and ‘Time’ dial to desired time in steps of 1 minute
    • Suggested Centrifuge Settings
    • Serum / Plasma:  Speed 6000rpm, Time 3 mins.
    • Urine Sample: Speed 1000rpm, Time 1 min.
  6. Start by closing lid by pressing down firmly on top of lid until lock clicks into place. Run will start.

Safety

Monitor centrifuge for at least 10 secs after starting to check for correct smooth, quiet running. If any unusual noise and/or vibration occurs release the lid lock immediately by pressing down firmly on top of lid with one hand and the lid lock tab with finger of the other hand to release the lid lock. Check rotor for stability and uneven sample loading, the most common causes.
