INSTALLATION
PARTS INCLUDED:
- Aluminum Flex hose (Expands to Approx. 6’)
- Aluminum Screen
- Inside Wall Plate
- Outside Wall Plate
- Weather Hood
- Hose Clamps
NOTE: Fasteners are not provided with this kit, as you will need to obtain screws and bolts that are made for your home’s wall type (i.e. drywall, masonry, wood, etc.). See below.
- Drill a 3 ½” hole through the wall that the intake air hose will exit through. This should be done after the exhaust piping system has been installed for your stove, so that you can avoid interfering with the exhaust pipe routing. Position the hole for the intake air kit as near to your stove as possible.
- Position one end of the flex hose over the Intake Air Tube of your wood unit. Apply the first hose clamp over this end of the flex hose and tighten it. See Figure 1.
- Route the flex hose from your stove, through the Inside Wall Plate (flat plate), through the 3 ½” hole in the wall, then to the Outside Wall Plate. The flex hose will bend and stretch (up to 6’ long) as necessary.
- Install the aluminum screen to the Outside Wall Plate, then attach it to the end of the flex hose, with the second hose clamp around this end of the hose. Once the clamp and screen are installed, the hose should fit snugly to the hole of the outside wall plate, with the hose clamp on the inside of the wall plate and the screen on the outside of the wall plate.
- Fasten the Inside and Outside Wall Plates and Weather Hood to the interior and exterior walls of your home. For the Outside Wall Plate, lag bolts can be used (size of 1/4” x 1 ½”). For the Interior Wall Plate, decorative drywall screws (1”) will work (if your interior wall is drywall), or you will need to choose the type screw that is appropriate for your type wall. Pass the bolts through the two holes in the Weather Hood before passing them through the top two holes of the Outside Wall Plate. Remember to adhere to local codes, and please call our Technical Support department at 1-800-251-0001 if you have any questions.
