INTRODUCTION
The instructions are intended for users of the product. The person who is to
use the product must read and understand the instructions before first use.
Save the instructions for future reference. Replace lost instructions
immediately. Instructions are available at
www.roroshetta.no.
SAFETY
** Read, understand and follow the instructions to avoid personal injury
and product damage.
WARNING LEVELS
Danger indicates that an accident will occur if the instructions are not
followed. The accident leads to serious personal injury or possibly death.
Warning indicates that an accident may occur if the instructions are not
followed. The accident can lead to serious personal injury or possibly death.
Caution** indicates that an accident may occur if the instructions are not

OPERATION
Warning!
Risk of fire. It is forbidden to flambé under the product. The risk of fire
spreading increases if cleaning does not take place as often as specified.
Never extinguish a fire started with oil or grease with water. If possible,
suffocate the fire with a lid or fire blanket. A fire extinguisher and blanket
must be located near the stove.
The use of a stove alarm or Power Control Unit (PCU) does not replace the
function of a fire alarm in the home. Make sure that the fire safety in your
home complies with local regulations.
Using a stove alarm or Power Control Unit (PCU) does not remove your
responsibility for safe cooking.
The cooker hood controls the stove and/or oven only if it is equipped and
correctly coupled with the optional Power Control Unit (PCU).
Warning! Sufficient air must be supplied to the room when the product is
used at the same time as products that use energy other than electrical
energy, e.g. gas stove, gas or wood stoves, wood or oil boilers, etc.
Caution!
Class 3R laser is used as part of the air quality sensor system. This
classification applies only in cases where the laser is inside the product and
is not directly visible to the user during normal operation. Be careful not to
damage or disassemble the sensor unit so that the laser source is exposed. In
case of damage exposing the visible red laser beam, avoid direct eye exposure
to the beam, turn off the power and stop using the product. Contact Customer
service, see section Service and warranty.
Class 1 laser is used as part of the optical distance and gesture detection
system. This is an invisible, harmless infrared laser, similar to standard
autofocus lasers in mobile cameras. It is directed from the sensor lens area
towards the stove.
Caution!
Accessible parts of the product can become hot in connection with cooking.
The product can be used by children from 8 years and people with impaired
mental, sensory or physical ability, or lack of experience and knowledge, if
they are informed about how the product is intended to be used.
Children should not play with the product. Cleaning and maintenance of the
product should not be performed by children without supervision.
WARNING SYMBOLS/-LABELS
Label for Class 3R laser is placed underneath the product. Remove the filter
cartridge to see the label.

IN CASE OF ACCIDENT (FIRE)
Warning! Never extinguish a fire started by oil or grease with water. If
possible, suffocate the fire with a lid or fire blanket.
If necessary, contact the emergency services immediately.
DESCRIPTION
The product consists of a complete system for an automated cooker hood, which includes: fan motor/motorized valve, sensor unit, sensors, LED lighting and aluminium filters filter cartridges). The product might have been installed with transformer*.
SENSOR UNIT
Via integrated sensors, the sensor unit automatically monitors and regulates
the functions of the cooker hood.
Stove alarm
The sensor unit automatically monitors temperature changes in the stove area.
An alarm is issued with a sound and light signal (the OK button on the sensor
panel blinking red) when the stove alarm detects a potentially dangerous
situation. Examples of dangerous situations:
- An overheating pan.
- No registered activity or human presence around the stove for a long time.
Power Control Unit (PCU)
The product can be supplemented with a Power Control Unit (PCU).

- Air quality sensor, intake.

- Stove monitoring sensor.
- Fan speed indicator: Lights up white when the fan is running. Speed 1–4, Boost. In Boost mode: Constantly flashing all indicator lights.
- Auto indicator: Lights up white when the fan is running automatically. Off when lighting and fan speed are changed manually via push of a button.
- Lamp button: Pressing the button switches the lighting on/ off. Pressing the button turns off the automatic light control. Hold down the button: Cycle between the presets defined in the smartphone App.
- Plus button: Increases the fan speed. Pressing the button turns off the automatic ventilation. Hold down the button: Activates Boost (runs for 9 minutes.
- Minus button: Reduces the fan speed alternatively deactivates Boost. Pressing the button turns off the automatic ventilation. When deactivating Boost: The fan speed umps back to the level that was present before the boost mode.
- OK button: Start bluetooth pairing. In the event of a stove alarm: Dismiss the alarm. Product equipped with a Power Control Unit (PCU): Test the system.

Balanced ventilation + Common Exaust (BC)
C Sensor panel – sensors, buttons and indicators
- Air quality sensor, intake.
- Air quality sensor, exhaust.
- Stove monitoring sensor .
- Time indicator: Off when the cooker hood is operating in automatic ventilation mode. Lights up white when in manual mode (activated via Plus button). Time 15-30-45-60 minutes.
- Auto indicator: Lights up white when the cooker hood is operating in automatic ventilation mode (max 120 minutes per session). Off when when valve is changed manually via push of a button.
- Lamp button: Pressing the button switches the lighting on/ off. Pressing the button turns off the automatic light control. Hold down the button: Cycle between the presets defined in the smartphone App.
- Plus button: Opens the valve (open in 60–0 minutes). Pressing the button turns off the automatic ventilation.
- Minus button: Closes the valve. Pressing the button turns off the automatic ventilation.
- OK button: Start bluetooth pairing. In the event of a stove alarm: Dismiss the alarm.

External engine + Central ventilation (EC)

- Fan speed indicator: Lights up white when the fan is running. Speed 1–3*/4, Ventilate mode. In Ventilate mode: Constantly flashing all indicator lights.
- Auto indicator: Lights up white when the cooker hood is running automatically. Off when fan speed is changed manually via push of a button.

- Minus button: Reduces the fan speed alternatively deactivates Ventilate mode. Pressing the button turns off the automatic ventilation. When deactivating Ventilate mode: The valve and the fan speed jumps back to the level that was present before the Ventilate mode.

(temperature limit values) can be configured via RørosHetta app. Smart Pan
Temperature detector helper is enabled and the temperature of the hob
approaches the limit value.

Blinking blue| No| The sensor unit searches for a bluetooth device (pairing).
Illuminates blue| No| The sensor unit is in software updated. Keep your mobile
phone close and do not close the RørosHetta app.
Illuminates green| No| The sensor unit is entering software update mode. If
the indicator does not turn blue within two minutes: Restart by turning the
power supply off and on again.
Illuminates purple| No| The sensor unit is in optional accessory pairing mode.
Illuminates yellow| No| Factory reset is in progress, this may take a few
minutes.
RØROSHETTA APP
The product can be controlled and configured via the RørosHetta app. The app is required for software updates, configuration and advanced features, such as:
- Alarm limit adjustment In order to obtain reliable monitoring of the stove, the sensitivity of the alarm must be adapted to the stove’s location in the kitchen and the product’s installation height.
- Remote alarm on the mobile phone A remote alarm can be set to receive alarms from the stove alarm or stove guard to the mobile phone.
- Air quality monitoring To obtain a good kitchen environment, the sensor unit can monitor the air quality and alarm if certain limit values are exceeded.
- Advanced settings
- Smart cooking Facilitate cooking with automated timers and pan temperature helpers and more.

Open app and select: Connect to new device.

Press the OK button on the sensor unit. Røros Sense should appear in the list in the app.

.Select Røros Sense and click on connect.
• If the app calls for Bluetooth pairing, allow this.
• If the app prompts you to update the sensor device software, allow this. -
Go to the Installation Guide section in RørosHetta app. The app guides you through questions regarding kitchen, stove and oven type and then automatically configures the product for the specific environment.
OPERATION
PRIOR TO USE
Close the windows in the kitchen but make sure that the product can get
supply air, e.g. byhaving a door from the kitchen ajar.
STOVE ALARM – ACKNOWLEDGE ALARM
Warning! If the situation is critical after the alarm has been triggered
and danger is present: Contact the emergency services immediately.
Risk of burns! The stove is hot.
When the alarm sounds, check the situation. If there is no risk: Silence the
alarm by pressing the OK button.

- Hold down the plus and minus buttons simultaneously to return to automatic.

LIGHTING
Switch on/off manually
Note Pressing the button turns off the automatic light control.
- Press the lamp button to switch the lamp on / off.
- Hold down the button to change the brightness between the predefined steps in the app.

POWER CONTROL UNIT (PCU)
Testing the system manually

Turn on one cooker plate on maximun power.
Note With an induction cooker use a suitable dish. -
Hold down the OK button for five seconds. The system should cut off the cooker power .

Test that none of the cooker plates and oven, if connected to the PCU, are operable. If ok, switch off cooker and oven.

Press the OK button on the sensor unit to return the cooker power. The OK indicator should blink green once.
PROGRAMMING
All programming of the product takes place via the RørosHetta app.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Warning! The risk of fire spreading increases if cleaningdoes not take place as often as specified.
CLEANING
Externally
If necessary: Wipe the outside of the product with a damp cloth and a mild
detergent.
Filter cartridge
Once a month, during normal use: Clean the filter cartridge.

Remove the filter cartridge.

Soak the filter cartridge in warm water mixed with detergent or wash it in a dishwasher at a maximum of 50 °C .
N Cleaning filter cartridge -
Refit the filter cartridge after cleaning.
Note Make sure the filter cartridge snaps properly into place.

Sensor panel
If necessary (if there is a visible accumulation of dirt or grease) or every
three months: Wipe the sensor panel with a damp cloth and a mild detergent.
Note Be especially careful to clean the openings for the sensors.

REPLACEMENT OF LED LIGHTING
Caution! Cut the power to the product by the circuit breaker before
installation and maintenance.
The LED lighting must be replaced with the original spare part. Contact
Customer service.

Slide the LED lighting to the side with grip tab and pull it downwards.

Disconnect the plug from the LED lighting.

Connect the plug to the new LED lighting.

CHECKING AND TROUBLESHOOTING

- When the OK button blinks green once, the cooker hood and sensor unit are working properly.

DISMANTLING AND RECYCLING
The packaging must be handed in at the nearest environmental station for
recycling.
The symbol indicates that the product must not be treated as household waste.
It should instead be handed in at the collection point for recycling of
electrical and electronic components.
By ensuring that the product is handled correctly, you help to prevent any
negative environmental and health effects that may occur if the product is
disposed of as normal waste.
For more information about recycling, please contact your local city office,
your household waste disposal service or the store where you purchased the
product.
SERVICE AND WARRANTY
Røros Metall offers service through authorized service companies. All service
matters and complaints must be reported on a separate service form available
on www.roroshetta.no.
Documentation of the date of purchase must be included. Røros Metall only pays
for agreed service work.
Before contacting service: Check the product label and note Art. No., Date of
manufacture and S/N no.
The product label is located underneath the product. Remove the filter
cartridge to see the label.

Røros Metall offers 2 years warranty and another 3 years warranty on all products. The warranty does not cover defects and/or damage caused directly or indirectly by improper handling, assembly / electrical connection, use, maintenance or other external conditions that have damaged the product. Normal wear and tear is not covered, such as light sources and filters.
