QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q1: There is no sound out while making a phone call.
A: You can check whether your iPhone has pressed twice the Bluetooth device “SmartBox-xxxx” in “Connected” status in the settings. If yes, then you cannot hear any sound when making a call. After Carp lay entering to the driving mode, all the Bluetooth devices(including SmartBox-xxxx Bluetooth device) on the iPhone should show ‘not connected’, as attached image. You can try to forget all the Bluetooth devices in your iPhone’s Bluetooth setting, and pair the ‘SmartBox-xxxx’ again.
Q2: I always fail to upgrade the firmware, is there any tips?
A: If the upgrade fail in several times, pls make sure that the
‘SmartBox-xxxx’ network device still can be searched & join in your iPhone Wi-
Fi settings;
It usually takes 3-4 minutes to upgrade the new firmware and the
orange/green light will not stop flashing until the upgrade is successful;
The ‘SmartBox-xxxx’ Wi-Fi device should be forgetter after the upgrade is
finished;
- To avoid signal interference, pls forget or disconnect the other iPhone’s Bluetooth devices before connecting to the adapter, such as the vehicle’s Bluetooth or Bluetooth headphones.
Q3: Usually I wear an Apple watch, will it influence using?
A: Technically it doesn’t interference the wireless Carp lay using, since it has been tested with watch SE & iPhone XR in iOS 15.4 software version, and the wireless carp lay works as normal. If it has some difficulty in connection, pls follow the instruction below and setup the iPhone settings steps by steps:
- Forget the ‘SmartBox-xxxx’ Bluetooth & Network Device, and pair again the ‘SmartBox-xxxx’ Bluetooth device in the settings;
- Enter to the info of the ‘SmartBox-xxxx’ Bluetooth device, and make sure that the Carp lay function is on;
- After entering to the iPhone Wi-Fi settings, find the ‘SmartBox-xxxx’ network device and join it;
- After pressing the network device, wait for 10-30 seconds, and it will enter to Carp lay/Driving mode automatically.
If it still doesn’t work after the settings, pls slide to power off your iPhone, and restart it again. Sometimes the fail Carp lay connections will change your iPhone’s preference, and the iPhone won’t enter to wireless carp lay function automatically. Each time restarting your iPhone & Auto Box can optimize the Carp lay connection.
Q4: The sound often cuts out/gets staticky.
A: Pls check whether it has connected to multiple Bluetooth devices in your iPhone Bluetooth settings, such as the car Bluetooth, wireless earbuds, since multiple Bluetooth devices connection will cause the signal interference. You can try to forget all the Bluetooth devices in your iPhone’s Bluetooth setting, and pair the ‘SmartBox-xxxx’ again. After Carp lay entering to the driving mode, all the Bluetooth devices(including SmartBox-xxxx Bluetooth device) on the iPhone should show ‘not connected’, as attached image.
Q5: It always jump to the carp lay interface in my Maverick, is this
normal? I want to get it to my Ford factory screen.
A: You can wait for the auto-connection to the Carp lay interface, and
press the home/ford icon on the screen(as attached ‘Ford Carp lay interface’),
then it can revert back to the factory radio screen.
Or the other way is to remove the wireless adapter, then it can be back to the
factory radio. I’m so sorry that the current carp lay settings of Maverick are
in the same standard, and most of the wireless carp lay adapter/wired carp lay
connection are facing the same issues as well.
The autoboot adapter has connected to the USB data port of your car just like
an iPhone keep plug in the USB port for using carp lay, and surely it will
jump to the carp lay interface once you start the engine.
Q6: Why there is no sound for Sony XAV-AX5600?
A: I’m so sorry that the current firmware version still doesn’t work well with the Sony radio, specially for XAV-AX series. The technical team has purchased an XAV7000 & shall spare no efforts to optimize this audio issue. Pls feel free to contact us for further updated news about the Sony unit.
Q7: What can I do when I have other connection problem?
A: Pls send the email to us at first, and subscribe the issue you have encountered. Further information & photos are needed so that our technicians can identify the cause of the problem:
- Photos of the AutoBox interface displayed on the screen;
- Screenshots of the iPhone’s Bluetooth Settings;
- Screenshots of the iPhone’s Wi-Fi Settings;
- Operating video if available.
If it confirmed by the technicians that the current firmware might doesn’t
work well with your car, you can follow the technician’s instruction and fill
in your car model & year in the IP setting page.
Pls don’t fill in the details in the description of the problem, since too
much letter is difficult for the technician to capture some useful data, and
to optimize the issue accordingly.
Only need to inform us soon after uploading the log.
