CAUTION To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury observe the following during installation:

  1. Operate this unit only as intended by the manufacturer. If in doubt contact the manufacturer’s representative or the point of purchase.
  2. Not for use in a flammable atmosphere or near explosive gases.
  3.  Not for use in a hazardous atmosphere or near chemical dust.
  4. Not for use where there is significant moisture or where the humidity is above 90%.
  5. Not for use where the temperature is less than 15° F or -10° C.
  6. Not for use where the temperature is above 110° For 43° C.
  7. Not for use where there is significant dust.
  8. Do not install where children or pets have access to the fan blades.
  9. Install with duct on inlet and duct and/or fan attenuator/silencer on exhaust of fan.
  10. Install guard screens if personnel have access to inlet or exhaust of fan.
  11. Install only as intended by manufacturer.
  12. This product is intended for indoor use only.
  13. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use this fan with any solid-state speed control device.
  14. WARNING: For general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors.

HOW TO INSTALL

  • Unpack and check fan and outer housing for damage. Check to ensure that the fan impeller spins freely and does not scrape or touch housing. If any damage is evident, return to supplier.

  • Use a pre-filter on the intake to prevent dust, oil and other foreign substances from building up on the
impeller. Build up of dust and or foreign material can cause an out of balance impeller and excessive vibration. Excessive vibration will reduce life of product.

  • Use the appropriate attachment screws for the surface material being selected to mount the fan.
    Use the supplied mounting bracket.

  • Do not attach to sheet rock or a weak surface.

  • Do not deform the mounting bracket or fan housing.

CAUTION – ELECTRICAL HAZARD
In using your fan, you should follow the IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS listed below. As part of these instructions we have used the word WARNING which indicates a hazard that, if not avoided, could result in injury or death.

WARNING! ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD – Do not use near water or other fluid. Do not used with damaged plug.
Use with adequate electrical system.

WARNING

  • Check that the voltage rating on the fan is the same as supply voltage [ 22 O 240V].

  • Use only with adequate power supply. Use only where the electrical supply meets the applicable codes.

  • Check for damage to plug, wires, fan impeller and fan housing. If any damage is evident do not use.
Return to supplier. There are no user serviceable parts inside.

  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects into fan or duct connected to fan. It will damage the fan blades and/or cause electric shock or fire.

  • Do not connect fan to power before duct work is in place. Fan rotates at high RPM and contact with fan blades will cause injury.

  • Do not allow any liquids to contact the fan or the fan housing as this may cause electric shock and/or fire hazard.

  • Do not place objects on the fan housing as this may cause fire hazard or electric shock or injury. Do not puncture fan housing with screws, bolts, etc.

  • Make sure that the power is disconnected whenever performing maintenance. Failure to do so may cause injury and/or electric shock.

  • In event of power outage the fan may start without notice. Always disconnect power source before performing maintenance.

  • In event that fan is being controlled by thermostat or control circuit, fan may start without notice. Always isolate the thermostat or control circuit from the power source before performing maintenance.

SPEED CONTROLLER
The speed controller is for low voltage use only. To reduce the risk of electric shock:

  • Always turn off the power or isolate the fan from the power source before connecting or disconnecting the speed control cable to the fan.
  • Always turn off the power or isolate the fan from the power source before connecting or disconnecting the speed control cable to the speed control box.
  • The Speed Control will allow the user to select the desired RPM [revolutions per minute) of the fan.
  • Selecting different RPM will affect the volume of the airflow and also the pressure in the duct.
  • The fan may be operated without the speed controller. In this case the RPM will default to maximum RPM.

WHEN USING SPEED CONTROLLER:

  • Do not use near water or other fluid.
  • Do not use near gasoline or combustible materials.
  • Do not used with damaged plug or damaged cable.
  • Do not use near flammable gasses or source of heat.

WARNING! Use of other speed controllers with HyperFan

  • HyperFan'” shall not be used with other “router type” speed controllers.
  • Use HyperFan'” with the provided HyperFan” speed controller and Gavita compatible.

NOTE: HyperFan'” can be used with third party environmental controllers that switch the fan on and off.

TEST OPERATION
After completing the installation, electrical work and duct work, perform the test operation to confirm if the fan operates normally.
After turning the power on the fan should rotate freely and build up speed normally.
If there is abnormal noise or no rotation, check all connections and check power supply.

WARNING! Fan may start without warning
Always isolate power supply to Hyper Fan before servicing or inspecting
Switch off mains supply
Fan may be in standby – and may start without warning – causing serious injury
