SAFETY / CAUTIONS

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR CORDLESS VACUUM.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and serious injury. When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should be observed including the following:

WARNING
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY:

  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts. Brushroll continues to rotate when in the upright position.
  • Brushroll continues to turn while product is turned on and handle is in upright position. To avoid damage to carpet, rugs, furniture and flooring, avoid tipping cleaner or setting it on furniture, fringed area rugs, or carpeted stairs during tool use.
  • With brushroll on, do not allow cleaner to sit in one location for an extended period of time, as damage to floor can result.
  • Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces
  • Do not allow to be used as a toy.
  • Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
  • Do not use for any purpose other than described in this user’s guide.
  • Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
  • Do not use with damaged cord or plug.
  • Do not use without dust cup or filters in place.
  • If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, have it replaced at an authorized service centre.
  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
  • Do not handle charging base, including plug and charging base with wet hands.
  • Do not charge the unit outdoors.
  • Use only charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge.
  • Do not incinerate the appliance, even if it is severely damaged. The batteries can explode in a fire.
  • Do not put any object into opening.
  • Do not use with any opening blocked. Keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow.
  • Use extra care when cleaning stairs
  • Use only on dry, indoor surfaces
  • Do not pick up flammable materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in the presence of explosive liquids or vapours.
  • Do not pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.)
  • Do not use vacuum cleaner in an enclosed space filled with vapours given off by oil-based paint, paint thinner, some moth proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapours.
  • Do not pick up hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
  • Keep appliance on a level surface.
  • Always turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting motorized nozzle
  • Disconnect battery pack before cleaning or servicing
  • Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to battery pack, picking up or carrying the appliance.
  • Disconnect the battery pack from the appliance before making any adjustments, changing accessories or storing the appliance. Such preventitive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.
  • Recharge only with the charger type SAW30A-300-0800U specifie d by the manufacturer from SHENZHEN SHI YING YUAN ELECTRONICS CO. LTD.
  • A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
  • Use appliances only with specifically designated battery packs FBP073.
  • Use of any other battery pack may create a risk of injury and fire.
  • When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
  • Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes accidentally, seek medical help. Liquid ejected from battery may cause iritation or burns.
  • Do not use a battery pack or appliances that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
  • Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to first or temperature above100°C (212°F) may cause explosion.
  • Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
  • Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.
  • Do not modify of attempt to repair the appliance or battery pack except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.
  • Do not put the vacuum close to fire or other high temperature facilities.
  • Do not use or store the machine under extreme conditions, for example, extreme temperature. It is recommended to use it indoors between 0°C and 40°C. Store the machine in a dry place and avoid direct sunlight.
  • Whe storing the machine for a long time, ensure that the battery is fully charged before storage and charge the machine at least every three months.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

SET UP DIRECTIONS
ASSEMBLY

WARNING
Do not plug in your cordless vacuum until you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures.
Your SurfaceElite™ + Lighweight Cordless Stick Vacuum comes in three easy-to- assemble components and does not require any additional tools to assemble.

  • Motorized Brushroll
  • Tube
  • Main Body
  1. Insert the tube into the motorized brushroll. When you hear the tube “click” it has securely locked into place.
  2. Then, insert the top of the tube into the main body of the vacuum until the “click” sound is heard again.

CHARGING

  1. The unit can be charged by plugging the adaptor directly into the lower side of the vacuum handle.
  2. Alternatively, mount the provided storage rack, and insert the adapter into the base of the rack to charge when the unit is stored.
  3. NOTE : A blue indicator light will flash while the unit is charging. The light will become steady when fully charged. The unit will take approximately 3 to 3.5 hours to fully charge. When fully charged, swap the batteries and charge the second battery to double your vacuuming run time.

BATTERY LIFE

When the unit’s battery is below 30%, the LED light on the base of the unit will flash to indicate it needs to be recharged. See the table below for approximate run times. Note: Run time may vary slightly from environment to environment and with the use of various tools.

CONTROLS AND SETTINGS

  1. Press and release the trigger on the base of the unit to start and stop the vacuum.
  2. Select the “Auto” button on the front of the unit to enable FloorDetect™ for specialized cleaning on multiple surface types or adjust power manually using + and – buttons.

REMOVABLE HAND VACUUM

  1. To convert your stick vacuum into a handheld vacuum, first remove the tube from the base of the body.
  2. Insert your selected accessory firmly into the base of the body. Pull the trigger on the base of the unit to start and stop the vaccum. The trigger does not need to be held while in use.

  1. Make sure the vacuum is turned off. Locate the bin release button on the bottom of the dirt bin.
  2. Gently remove the dirt bin by pulling it down and away from the unit.
  3. Remove the metal filter inside the bin by pulling up. Empty the dirt and debris into a waste bin.

CLEANING FILTERS

  1. To disassemble and clean, pull up on the handle at the top of the dirt bin and remove the dust barrel. Rotate the top to remove the filter element completely. Rinse with water to clean. Wait to dry completely before reassembling. Filters should be cleaned every four weeks.
  2. The HEPA filter can also be cleaned. Rotate and pull the top of the main body of the vacuum to reveal. Remove the filter and rinse with cold water. Wait to dry completely before reassembling. HEPA should be cleaned every four weeks.

CLEANING YOUR BRUSHROLL

  1. If your unit’s brushroll stops spinning while in use due to tangled debris, turn off the vacuum immediately. Flip the motor head over to reveal the brushroll.
  2. Press the “Push” button on top of the floor head to eject the brushroll. Remove the brushroll and manually clear debris. Hair threads and other tightly wrapped debris can be cleared by gliding a pair of scissors along the groove on the brushroll.

TROUBLESHOOTING

| 1)    Ensure the charging port is properly connected with the main body of the unit. Confirm the charger prongs are firmly inserted into the wall outlet. The light on the main body of the vacuum will blink when charging.

2)    Allow the unit to cool down for a couple of minutes to allow the thermal protection to reset. Try turning the unit on again.

3)    Call NOMA® Customer Support.

Brushroll has stopped turning

|

  1. Rolling brush is blocked.

  2. Brushroll is not firmly

attached to motor head.

  1. Vacuum is being used on shag rug/bath mat.

  2. Belt has snapped.

| 1)    Check whether the brushroll is blocked or tangled. See page 11 for instructions on how to clean.

2)    Inspect the brushroll where it attaches to the motor head and confirm it is firmly in place.

3)    Vacuum should not be used on bath mats.

4)  Call NOMA® Customer Support.

Vacuum has low suction

|

  1. Unit battery is low power.

  2. Dust cup is not properly installed.

  3. Dust cup quilted filter is

blocked.

  1. Floor brush suction is blocked.

  2. Dust cup is full.

|

1)   Charge the unit.

2)   Reinstall the dust cup.

3)   Rinse the filter, allow to dry

completely before reinstalling.

4)   Clean brushroll and inspect tube for blockage to remove.

5)   Empty the dust cup.

Vacuum will not charge

| 1) Charging port is not firmly connected to main body of vacuum.

  1. Adaptor is not firmly connected

to wall outlet

  1. Wrong adaptor is in use.

  2. Unit has overheated and activated temperature protection.

| 1)  Ensure the charging port is properly connected with the main body of the unit.

2)  Confirm charger is firmly insert into wall outlet

  1. Use the original adaptor.

  2. Allow unit to cool for several minutes. Then, try charging the unit again.
