SIGMA X-Style 31 Mobile Phone

We thank you for buying a mobile phone X-style 31. The manual includes a description of the main mobile phone functions.

The phone X-style 31 allows to use 2 SIM cards of GSM standard at dual standby mode, i.e., in standby mode, there are 2 cards in the connection; during the call 1 card works in active mode, 1 other card is unavailable. The content of the given manual is right. The description of some functions may differ due to changes in software or provider services. The company keeps the right to arrange changes in technical specifications without previous warning. Key remarks in security technics. Given phone is assigned for calling and receiving calls, sending SMS messages, surfing the Internet (may be unavailable) etc. Read carefully the below section and strictly keep following instructions. The phone doesn’t contain any materials harmful for health.

• Don’t use the phone during a thunderstorm in the open air.
• Keep the battery off from high temperature, explosive and flammable liquids.
• Power the phone off in case if using the phone can cause an obstacle or danger.
• Do not put the prone in heating devices such as microwave oven, hot plate or heater.
• Do not try to open the mobile phone’s case. If the phone or any of the accessories do not work properly, please contact the closest authorized service center.
• Use only accessories and charging devices assigned to this model. Do not use defective or second-hand chargers.
• Do not let the battery short circuit happen.
• If you use any personal medical devices, please clarify from the producer whether the device has sufficient protection from radiation in radio spectrum. Power the phone off in medical institutions if it is required with inner regulation rules.
• Do not use the phone during driving. Follow mobile phone using recommendations while driving.
• Keep the phone, all its components, and accessories in a place unavailable for kids and pets. They may damage the device or accidentally choke on small details.
• Avoid contacting phone with water.
• Do not use potent chemicals, dissolvents or bleaches for cleaning the phone.
• Do not subject the device under the effect of direct sun rays.
• To avoid getting heavy metals, acids, and chemicals in water or ground that cause significant damage to the environment, wasted accumulator battery should be utilized after end of service term in accordance to the law regulations. Juristic responsibility occurs in case of failure to comply with legislation.

Inserting SIM cards and memory card

Open the back cover.

Insert SIM cards in proper device slots. Insert also micro-SD card, if required. Insert battery, controlling that battery contacts fit phone contacts. Be careful, broken card or batteries cards lead to device breakage and cancelling warranty. Close back cover. Power on the phone long pressing button 9 (red handset). It is recommended to arrange full battery charge before first use.

Power on\off the device
To power on the device press and keep button «power» until activation of device display. To power off press and keep button «power» until shutdown. Device locking occurs automatically, or after consequent pressing left soft- button and button «». Unlocking occurs through consequent pressing left soft- button and button «».

Calling
To call – dial number on digital keyboard in local or international format, or choose number from phone contacts list, and press calling button. Choose from which SIM-card to call. To cancel call – press button ‘cancel’. During call it is also possible to: switch volume in a speakerphone mode, start conversation record, add more persons to conference conversation, turn off\switch on microphone and etc.

Device menu

To access the main device menu you need to press left soft-button or central navigation button.

Menu includes the following sections:

• Contacts: phone book including phone, SIM cards storage; Calls: incoming, outgoing and missed calls register;
• Extras: Calendar, E-reader, Alarm, Torch, Calculator Multimedia: device media-functions are concentrated in this menu: video recorder, video player, sound recorder, audio
• player, image viewer,
• Message: to send SMS messages and read received messages;
• User profiles: settings volume profiles
• Camera: to capture a photo
• Setting: Power bank on/off, phone settings, dual SIM settings, security settings, network settings, connectivity and Restore settings

FM-radio
NB! FM radio uses a built-in antenna. This phone do not support wired headset. FM radio audio output uses phone speaker. Bluetooth headset works with voice calls and MP3 player.

Calls

The «Calls» menu contains incoming, outgoing, and missed calls register, counters GPRS traffic, and allows: dialing contact number, sending SMS messages, adding new numbers to contacts, add numbers to the blacklist, deleting information about call and etc.

Contacts

The Contacts menu is your phone book, which contains contacts stored in the phone and on SIM cards. The phone memory is designed to store 500 contacts.
Contacts are in alphabetical order. The search string allows you to find contacts, the search is organized by the first letters of the name of the contact. To switch the method/language of the search press the # key New contact: Add a new contact. Before creating, you have to choose a place to save the contact. To view the contact, select the cursor and press the center navigation key. For a call, press the call button. Additional options open with the left soft key.

• Send SMS: Create and send a text message to a contact. Edit: edit the contact
• Delete: delete the selected contact.
• Copy: Copy contact between phone and SIM card.  Add to blacklist.
• Select multiple: select multiple contacts for further copying / deleting / grouping SMS.
• It is also possible to: view the status of the memory, and delete all contacts, make backups or restore contacts (only if there is a memory card) When backing up contacts in the root of the memory card, a system file named ~vcard.vcf is created. When restoring contacts, information is taken from the same file.
• Adding a new contact: Choose “New” in the options, choose a place to save the contact, enter a name and phone number, press “options-save”
  For one contact, you can add the following information: Name (line length – 20 characters), Phone number

Messaging

This menu contains everything you need to send, store, view and delete SMS messages.

• New SMS: Select to write and send (or save) a new message. Inbox: Folder with received messages.
• Outbox: Folders with sent messages.
• Drafts: incomplete messages.
• Sent: Messages that have been sent.
• Settings: settings for sending SMS
  The Settings menu allows you to set the SMS center numbers for both SIM cards, set the validity period of the message, configure receipt of the delivery status report, adjust the settings for saving messages, switch off or enable push messages.

User Profiles:

This menu is assigned for setting sound profiles, i.e. volume characteristics, ringtones, vibrate mode, button sound and systems for different conditions of phone using, such as: outdoor, meeting, silent and etc. Built-in settings are editable as well as custom settings may be created. To activate settings choose profile in menu and press central button.

Settings

Power bank. On/off the function.

• Phone: contains date and time settings, interface languages, settings of shortcuts buttons and dedicated keys. Display: wallpaper settings, screen and backlight timeout.
• Security: set up SIM-card lock, phone lock and lock of special phone functions. Blacklist management is in this menu as well.
• Network: allows to set up GPRS, choose card to transmit data by default, set up network accounts.
• Connectivity: allows to set up Bluetooth.
• Reset settings. Lets you reset your phone to factory settings.

Multimedia

Caution: It is desirable to use the following functions in the menu “Multimedia” under the condition of the installed memory card. Programs to work with photo, video and sound are collected in this section.

• Video recorder – for video recording.
• Video player – for viewing video
• Audio player – for listening music .

All music must be at memory card in My music folder

• Sound recorder for sound record.
• Image viewer – for viewing images.

Extras

The following programs are available in this menu: Calendar – for viewing calendar. Calculator – for arithmetic calculations. E-book – for reading texts in TXT format (UNICODE txt files). Alarm – allows to set few alarms SIMultaneously. Torch on/off

File manager

File manager allows to work with files in phone memory and in memory card. Following operations are available: copying, moving, deleting, creating files, or setting melodies as phone ringtones.

FM radio

Listed in the separate menu application for listening to FM radio. To turn on / off, press the center key. To search for radio stations, press Right / Left. To switch between saved channels – Up / Down. Use the * (to decrease) and # (to increase) keys to adjust volume. The Options menu has the ability to automatically and manually search channels, view saved stations and enable / disable background playback.

Camera
A separate program for photographing is issued. To capture a photo, press the center key. To switch to the settings, press the Options key (LSK).

Troubleshooting

Following recommendations may help to solve some problems with phones independently. In case problems occurs try to solve it yourself with following recommendations. If the problem is not solved, contact to Sigma mobile service center. Check whether battery is charged and whether problem continues after device reset. Try to restore factory settings through menu «Settings – phone – Default settings» (password by default – 1122) Problems with memory card mostly occurs in case of memory card breakage. Thus, firstly check given card separately. Also recommended to: take off and insert a memory card in port, check whether card is put in port correctly, reload phone. Phone does not power on: check the battery charge, repeatedly connect the charging device, and wait at least 10 minutes. Press and keep the button «Power on» not less than 5 second. If device does not power on contact in service center. Battery discharges rapidly: reasons for increased battery charges may be: low air temperature, active using of media programs, huge distance to the cellular tower of the connection operator. The battery does not charge: check the charging adapter connection to plug. Use only complete charging adapter and cable. Impossible to call: this problem may be caused by law connection signal, network overloading, incorrect input of contact number, activated function of calling prohibition. Try to change location, check level of connection signal, wipe phone to factory reset. Contact in service center. Low receiver volume: during conversation, press button «up» to increase volume. Set volume during a conversation in profiles. Check the signal of the cellular connection.

Passwords

Requests to input the following passwords may occur during activating and phone use :

• Phone password: request occurs during activating. This is the password of general locking.
• PIN-code: if Pin-code checking is active, it is required to input code that is given with SIM card.  PUK code, PIN2 code – also given with SIM card.
• Be careful installing blocking passwords: if they are lost, renewing phone functionality is possible only in the service center.
