CUBE fire basket
Everyone knows the atmospheric charm of an open fire – but how to extinguish the fire subsequently, above all with upcoming wind and increasingly flying sparks? CUBE is simply turned around, the fire bowl always remaining in ba- lance due to gravity, the fire is suppressed and extinguished. But before, CUBE should be grilled on, the grid being ad-justable in height and regulated in heat according to the breakouts. If no fire is burning inside CUBE, it can be used as a stool, bench or side table – a multi-purpose piece of outdoor furniture which surprises, enthuses and gives lasting pleasure due to its solid materiality.
Commissioning and handling
- CUBE is supplied fully assembled.
- Upon unpacking and before every use, please verify whether the article shows any damage. If so, please do not use the article and inform your dealer.
- Place CUBE on a solid and even underground. Please pay attention that the firebowl is inserted in a correct position.
- Place the CUBE on a level and stable surface. Ensure that before lighting the fire bowl is properly inserted.

- Use only dry firewood. Minimum drying time 3 years.
- WARNING: Do not use any liquid such as petrol, spirits or similar liquid accelerant to do this. (Only use firelighters that comply with EN 1860-3!) We recommend using grill lighters (conforming to EN 1860-3) instead of liquid firelighter.

- Only place the pieces of wood in the firebowl. Please pay attention that the pieces of wood do not overhang the firebowl. The pieces of wood may not touch the basket.
Extinguishing
CUBE is turned around in order to be extinguished; due to gravity, the firebowl always remains in balance, the fire is suffocated and extinguishes.
CAUTION: Only use this fire basket at a distance of at least 3 m from combustible materials. Examples of combustible items include (but are not limited to) wood, treated wooden floors, wooden decking and wooden porches.
- CUBE may only be extinguished by turning around if the wood has completely burnt down.
- Always wear fire-proof gloves (e.g. BBQ gloves) when extinguishing CUBE.
- CUBE may only be tilted for extinguishing. However, do not transport the fire basket during operation or as long as the fire basket or the burning material is hot.
- Always wear solid, closed shoes. Sandals do not provide protection against hot pieces of coal.
- Wear respective clothing. Long, loose sleeves quickly catch fire!
IMPORTANT: CUBE may only be tilted over the edges with foot (b and c) resp. the edges with handle (a and d), e.g. CUBE may only be tilted over the edges having the same alignment as the bearing axle of the firebowl. ATTENTION! If not observed, the firebowl will turn, not remain in balance and the content of the firebowl will be dumped.
-
Take CUBE at the edges a and b and tilt the firebowl over edge c. ATTENTION! Handle CUBE slowly, carefully and with consideration; never move CUBE quickly or suddenly. ATTENTION! Always make sure that the firebowl is not turning, e.g. remains in balance. ATTENTION! Always pay attention that a minimum distance of 3 metres is maintained to flammable or heat-sensitive material.
-
Subsequently, take CUBE at the edges b and c and tilt the firebowl over edge d. ATTENTION! Handle CUBE slowly, carefully and with consideration; never move CUBE quickly or suddenly. ATTENTION! Always make sure that the firebowl is not turning,
e. g. remains in balance. ATTENTION! Always pay attention that a minimum distance of 3 metres is maintained to flammable or heat-sensitive material. -
It now takes some time until CUBE is completely extinguished. ATTENTION! Do not transport CUBE as long as the fire basket or the burning material is hot. Leave CUBE in the open air at a well-ventilated place until it is completely extinguished.
Cooking with CUBE
In order to use CUBE as a grill, we offer you the appropriate cooking grid as accessory.
CAUTION: Always wear fire-proof gloves (e.g. BBQ gloves) when grilling with CUBE. Wear respective clothing. Long, loose sleeves quickly catch fire!
- Clean the cooking grate prior to first use.
- Do not start the grilling process before the charcoal is covered by a small ash layer. This process takes approx. 30-45 minutes.
- Take the cooking grate at the wire handles (red) and place it on CUBE. The rods protruding laterally thus lie on the sheet edge of CUBE. The vertical rods contact the inner side of the basket, the cooking grid thus being slightly twisted as regards the position of the basket.
- The cooking grid is adjustable in height. Take the cooking grate at the wire handles and slightly twist the handles clockwise. The protruding rods now no longer lie on the sheet edge of CUBE and the cooking grid can be lowered. If you turn back the cooking gird anticlockwise, the rods protrude the breakouts of the basket and lie on its sheet edges.
CUBE as furniture
In order to also use CUBE as furniture, stool, bench or side table, we offer the appropriate resting board as accessory.
CAUTION: The resting board may only be placed on CUBE when completely cooled down.
- Turn around CUBE as described under 2.2.
- Place the resting board on CUBE.
Maintenance, cleaning and storage
The fire basket is made of high-quality materials. In order to clean and care for the surfaces, please observe the following instruc-tions:
CAUTION: Let the fire basket cool down completely before starting with cleaning. Make sure that the ash does not withhold any ember. Let the ash and remains cool down completely.
- Do not use any strong or abrasive solvents or scouring pads as these corrode the surfaces and leave scrape marks.
- Take the firebowl at the lateral handles and move it upwards. Empty the firebowl into a non-flammable container.
- Empty the cold ash. It is very important to empty the ash from the firebowl before moisture combines with the cold ash. Ash cont-ains salt and – in wet condition – corrodes the inner side of the firebowl. The firebowl may thus be damaged due to corrosion over the years.
- Remove loose deposits with a wet sponge. Use a soft, clean cloth for cleaning. Do not scratch the surface – above all the varnis-hed surface – when wiping clean.
- Clean the grill with a soft detergent and water. Thoroughly rinse the grill with water and dry the surfaces.
- Store the grill at a dry, well-ventilated place.
For a long lifetime of your fire basket we recommend to protect the fire
basket – completely cooled down – with an appropriate cover hood from
environmental impact. In order to prevent dusty moisture, remove the cover
hood after rain. Subsequently, let the firebowl and cover hood dry completely.
If you follow these instructions, you will find pleasure in CUBE for years.
