Read these instructions carefully before using your microwave oven and keep it carefully.
If you follow the instructions, your oven will provide you with many years of good service.

PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY
a) Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door open since this can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is important not to break or tamper with the  safety interlocks.
b) Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
WARNING: If the door or door seals are damaged, the oven must not be operated until it has been repaired by a competent person.

ADDENDUM
If the apparatus is not maintained in a good state of cleanliness, its surface could be degraded and affect the lifespan of the apparatus and lead to a dangerous situation.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, injury to persons or exposure to excessive microwave oven energy when using your appliance, follow basic precautions, including the following:

1. Read and follow the specific: “PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY”.

2. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and  knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play  with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Children less than 8 years of age shall be  kept away unless continuously supervised.

3. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

4. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

5. WARNING: Ensure that the appliance is switched off before replacing the lamp to avoid the possibility of electric shock.

6. WARNING: It is hazardous for anyone other than a competent person to carry out any service or repair operation that involves the removal of a cover which gives  protection against exposure to microwave energy.

7. WARNING: Liquids and other foods must not be heated in sealed containers since they are liable to explode.

8. When heating food in plastic or paper containers, keep an eye on the oven due to the possibility of ignition.

9. Only use utensils that are suitable for use in microwave ovens.

10. If smoke is emitted, switch off or unplug the appliance and keep the door closed in order to stifle any flames.

11. Microwave heating of beverages can result in delayed eruptive boiling, therefore care must be taken when handling the container.

12. The contents of feeding bottles and baby food jars shall be stirred or shaken and the temperature checked before consumption, in order to avoid burns.

13. Eggs in their shell and whole hard-boiled eggs should not be heated in microwave ovens since they may explode, even after microwave heating has ended.

14. The oven should be cleaned regularly and any food deposits removed.

15. Failure to maintain the oven in a clean condition could lead to deterioration of the surface that could adversely affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a  hazardous situation.

16. The appliance must not be installed behind a decorative door in order to avoid overheating. This is not applicable for appliances with decorative door.

17. Only use the temperature probe recommended for this oven. For ovens provided with a facility to use a temperature-sensing probe.

18. The microwave oven shall not be placed in a cabinet unless it has been tested in a cabinet but all the doors need to be open during operation.

19. This appliance is intended to be used in household use only.

20. The microwave oven is intended for heating food and beverages.
    WARNING: The drying of clothing and heating of warming pads, slippers, sponges, damp cloth and similar may lead to risk of injury, ignition or fire.

21. Metallic containers for food and beverages are not allowed during microwave cooking.

22. The appliance shall not be cleaned with a steam cleaner.

23. The appliance is intended to be used freestanding.

24. The rear surface of appliances shall be placed against a wall, but allow for a minimum of 20 cm of space.

GROUNDING INSTALLATION
DANGER!
Electric Shock Hazard
Improper use of the grounding can result in electric shock. Do not plug into an electrical power supply until appliance is properly installed and grounded. This appliance must  be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This appliance  is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.

If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a 3-wire.

1. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
2. If a long cord set or extension cord is used:
   2.1. The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
   2.2. The extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
   2.3. The long cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

CLEANING

Be sure to unplug the appliance from the power supply.

1. Clean the cavity of the oven after using with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Clean the accessories in the usual way in soapy water.
3. The door frame and seal and neighboring parts must be cleaned carefully with a damp cloth when they are dirty.
4. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the oven door glass since they can scratch the surface, which may result in shattering of the glass.
5. For easier cleaning of the cavity walls that the food cooked can and heat on 100% microwave power for 10 minutes. Wipe the oven clean using a soft, dry cloth.

See the instructions on “Materials you can use in microwave oven or to be avoided in microwave oven”. There may be certain non-metallic utensils that are not safe to use for microwaving. If in doubt, you can test the utensil in question following the procedure below.

Utensil Test:

1. Fill a microwave-safe container with 1 cup of cold water (250 ml) along with the utensil in question.
2. Cook on maximum power for 1 minute.
3. Carefully feel the utensil. If the empty utensil is warm, do not use it for microwave cooking.
4. Do not exceed 1 minute cooking time.

MATERIALS YOU CAN USE IN MICROWAVE OVEN

must be at least 3/16 inch (5 mm) above the turntable.
Incorrect usage may cause the turntable to break.
Dinnerware| Microwave-safe only. Follow manufacturer’s instructions.
Do not use cracked or chipped dishes.
Glass jars| Always remove lid. Use only to heat food until just warm.
Most glass jars are not heat resistant and may break.
Glassware| Heat-resistant oven glassware only. Make sure there is no metallic trim. Do not use cracked or chipped dishes.
Oven cooking bags| Follow manufacturer’s instructions. Do not close with metal tie. Make slits to allow steam to escape.
Paper plates & cups| Use for short-term cooking/warming only. Do not leave oven unattended while cooking.
Paper towels| Use to cover food for reheating and absorbing fat. Use with supervision for a short-term cooking only.
Parchment paper| Use as a cover to prevent splattering or a wrap for steaming.
Plastic| Microwave-safe only. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Should be labeled “Microwave safe”.
Some plastic containers soften, as the food inside gets hot.
“Boiling bags” and tightly closed plastic bags should be slit, pierced or vented as directed by package.
Plastic wrap| Microwave-safe only. Use to cover food during cooking to retain moisture. Do not allow plastic wrap to touch food.
Thermometers| Microwave-safe only (meat and candy thermometers).
Wax paper| Use as a cover to prevent splattering and retain moisture.
Aluminum tray| May cause arcing. Transfer food into microwave-safe dish.
Food carton with metal handle| May cause arcing. Transfer food into microwave- safe dish.
Metal or metal trimmed utensils| Metal shields the food from microwave energy. Metal trim may cause arcing.
Metal twist ties| May cause orcing and could cause a fire in the oven.
Paper bags| May cause a fire in the oven.
Plastic foam| Plastic foam may melt or contaminate the liquid inside when exposed to high temperature.
Wood| Wood will dry out when used in the microwave oven and moy split or crack.

SETTING UP YOUR OVEN

Parts Description
Remove the oven and all materials from the carton and oven cavity.
Your oven comes with the following accessories:

C) Turntable ring assembly
D) Glass tray
E) Observation window
F) Door assembly
G) Safety interlock system

NAMES OF OVEN PARTS AND ACCESSORIES

Cleaning the cooking compartment and putting the turntable in place.
For new installations, make sure all packaging and shipping tape has time, you will need to put the turntable in place correctly. You must clean the cooking compartment and accessories.

Note:

1. Never use the appliance without the turntable. Make sure that it is properly engaged. The turntable can turn clockwise or anti-clockwise.
2. Never place the glass tray upside down. The glass tray should neverbe restricted.
3. Both glass tray and turntable ring assembly must always be usedduring cooking.
4. All food and containers of food are always placed on the glass trayfor cooking.
5. Never restrict the movement of the turntable.
6. If glass tray or turntable ring assembly cracks or breaks, contact your nearest authorized service center.

COUNTERTOP INSTALLATION

Remove all packing material and accessories. Examine the oven for any damage such as dents or broken door. Do not install if oven is damaged.
Cabinet: Remove any protective film found on the microwave oven cabinet surface.
Do not remove the light brown Mica cover that is attached to the oven cavity to protect the magnetron.

INSTALLATION

1. Select a level surface that provide enough open space for the intake and/or outlet vents.

2. The minimum installation height is 85 cm.

3. The rear surface of appliance shall be placed against a wall.
   Leave a minimum clearance of 30 cm above the oven, a minimum clearance of 20 cm is required between the oven and any adjacent walls.

4. Do not remove the legs from the bottom of the oven.

5. Blocking the intake and/or outlet openings can damage the oven.

6. Place the oven as far away from radios and TV as possible. Operation of microwave oven may cause interference to your radio or TV reception.

7. Plug your oven into a standard household outlet. Be sure the voltage and the frequency is the same as the voltage and the frequency on the rating label.

WARNING: Do not install oven over a range cooktop or other heatproducing appliance. If installed near or over a heat source, the oven could be damaged and the warranty would be void.

OPERATION

1. Power Level
11 power levels are available.

2. Clock Setting

1. Press “CLOCK”, “00:00” will display.
2. Press the number keys and enter the current time. For example, time is 12:10 now, then press “1,2,1,0” in turn.
3. Press “CLOCK” to finish clock setting. “:” will flash and the clock will be highlighted.
4. If the numbers input is not within the range of 0:00-23:59, the setting will be invalid until valid numbers are input.

Note:

1. In the process of clock setting, if the “STOP/CANCEL” button is pressed or if there is no operation within 1 minute, the oven will go back to the former setting  automatically.
2. If the clock needs to be reset, please repeat step 1 to step 3.

3. Kitchen Timer

1. Press “KITCHEN TIMER”, the screen will display 00:00, the first hour figure flash.
2. Press the number keys and enter the timer time. The maximum cooking time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds.
3. Press “START/+30 SEC” to confirm setting.
4. When the timer time has counted down, the buzzer will ring 5 times.
   If the clock be set (12-hour system), the screen will display the current time.

Note:

1. The kitchen timer is different from 12-hour system, Kitchen Timer is a timer and will count down.
2. During kitchen timer, no other programming can be set.

4. Microwave Cook

1. Press “TIME COOK” once, the screen will display “00:00”.

2. Press number keys to input the cooking time; the maximum cooking time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds.

3. Press “POWER” once, the screen will display “PL10”. The default power is 100% power.
   Now you can press number keys to adjust the power level.

4. Press “START/+30 SEC” to start cooking.

Example: To cook the food with 50% microwave power for 15 minutes.
a. Press “TIME COOK” once.”00:00” displays.
b. Press “1”, “5”, “0”, “O” in order.
c. Press “POWER” once, then press “5” to select 50% microwave power.
d. Press “START/+30 SEC” to start cooking.

Note:

1. In the process of setting, if the “STOP/CANCEL” button is pressed or if there is no operation within 1 minute, the oven will go back to the former setting  automatically.
2. If “PLO” selected, the oven will work with fan for no power.
3. During microwave cooking, “POWER” can be pressed to change the power you need. After pressing “POWER”, the current power flash for 3 seconds, now you can  press number button to change the power. The oven will work with the selected power for the rest of the cooking time.

5. Speedy Cooking

1. In standby state, instant cooking at 100% power level can be started by select a cooking time from 1 to 6 minutes by pressing number pads] to 6. Press “START/+30  SEC” to increase the cooking time; the maximum cooking time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds.
2. In standby state, instant cooking at 100% power level with 30 seconds’ cooking time can be started by pressing “START/+30 SEC”. Each press on the same button will  increase cooking time by 30 seconds, the maximum cooking time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds.

Note:
During microwave cooking and time defrost, time can be added by pressing “START/+30 SEC” button.

6. Weight Defrost Function

1. Press “WEIGHT DEFROST”, the screen will display “dEF1”.
2. Press numerical buttons to input weight to be defrosted. Input the weight ranged between 100~2000 g.
3. If the weight input is not within 100~2000 g, the input will be invalid.
4. Press “START/+30 SEC” to start defrosting and the cooking time remained will be displayed.

7. Time Defrost Function

1. Press “TIME DEFROST”, the screen will display “dEF2”.
2. Press number pads to input defrosting time. The effective time range is 0:01~99:99.
3. The default microwave power is power level 3.
4. Press “START/+30 SEC” to start defrosting. The remained cooking time will be displayed.

8. Popcorn
(a) Press “POPCORN” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display, “50”,”100″g will display in order. For example, press “POPCORN” once, “50” appears.
(b) Press “START/+30 SEC” to cook, the buzzer sounds once when pushed. When cooking has been completed, the buzzer sounds five times and then turn back to standby state.

Important Information About Microwave Popcorn Feature:

1. When selecting 100 g of popcorn, it is suggested that you fold down a triangle on each corner of the bag before cooking. Refer to the picture at right.
2. If/When the popcorn bag expands and no longer rotates properly, please press button once and open the oven door and adjust the bag position to ensure even cooking.

9. Potato
(a) Press “POTATO” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display, “1″,”2”,”3” will display in order.
“1″SET : 1 potato (approximate 230 grams)
“2” SETS: 2 potatoes (approximate 460 grams)
“3” SETS: 3 potatoes (approximate 690 gram )
For example, press “POTATO” once, “1” appears.
(b) Press “START/+30 SEC” to cook, buzzer sounds once. When cooking finished the buzzer sounds five times and then will return to waiting state.

10. Frozen Vegetables
(a) Press “FROZEN VEGETABLE” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display, “150”,”350″,””500” g will display in order. For example, press “FROZEN  VEGETABLE” once, “150” appears.
(b) Press “START/+30 SEC” to cook, the buzzer sounds once.
When cooking has been completed, the buzzer sounds five times and then turn back to standby state.

9. Potato
(a) Press “POTATO” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display, “1″,”2”,”3” will display in order.
“1″SET : 1 potato (approximate 230 grams)
“2” SETS: 2 potatoes (approximate 460 grams)
“3” SETS: 3 potatoes (approximate 690 gram )
For example, press “POTATO” once, “1” appears.
(b) Press “START/+30 SEC” to cook, buzzer sounds once. When cooking finished the buzzer sounds five times and then will return to waiting state.

10. Frozen Vegetables
(a) Press “FROZEN VEGETABLE” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display, “150”,”350″,””500” g will display in order. For example, press “FROZEN  VEGETABLE” once, “150” appears.

13. Pizza
(a) Press “PIZZA” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display, “100”,”200″,”400” g will display in order. For example, press “PIZZA” once, “100” appears.
(b) Press “START/+30 SEC” to cook, buzzer sounds once. When cooking has been completed, the buzzer sounds five times and then turn back to standby state.

14. Memory Function

1. Press “O/MEMORY” to choose memory 1-3 procedure. The screen will display 1,2,3.
2. If the procedure has been set, press “START/+30 SEC” to use it. If not, continue to set the procedure. Only one or two stages can be set.
3. After finishing the setting, press “START/+30 SEC” once to save the procedure and turn back to the standby states. If press “START/+30 SEC” again, it will start  cooking.

For example: to set the following procedure as the second memory, that is memory 2. To cook the food with 80% microwave power for 3 minutes and 20 seconds.

The steps are as follow:
a. In standby states, press “O/MEMORY” twice, stop pressing when the screen displays “2”.
b. Press “TIME COOK” once, then press “3″,”2””,”0″ in order.
C. Press “POWER” once,”PL10” display, then press “8” and “PL8” displays.
d. Press “START/+30 SEC” to save the setting. Buzzer sounds once then turn back to standby states. If you press “START/+30 SEC” twice after step c, the procedure will  be saved as memory 2 and operated.
e. If the electricity is not cut off, the procedure will be saved all the time. If it is, the procedure need to reset.
f. If you want to run the saved procedure, in standby states, press “O/MEMORY” twice, screen displays “2”, then press “START/+30 SEC.” to run.

15. Multi-stage cooking
At most 2 stages can be set for cooking. In multi-stage cooking, if one stage is defrosting, then defrosting shall be placed at the first stage automatically.
Note: Auto cooking cannot work in the multi-stage cooking. Example: if you want to cook with 80% microwave power for 5 minutes + 60% microwave power for 10  minutes. The cooking steps are as following:

1. Press “TIME COOK” once, then press “5″,”0″,”0″ to set the cooking time.
2. Press “POWER” once, then press “8” to select 80% microwave power.
3. Press “TIME COOK” once, then press “1”,”0””,”0″,”0″ to set the cooking time.
4. Press “POWER” once, then press “6” to select 60% microwave power.
5. Press “START/+30 SEC” to start cooking.

16. Inquiring Function

1. In cooking state, press “CLOCK”, the screen will display clock for three seconds.
2. In the microwave cooking state, press “POWER” to inquire microwave power level,and the current microwave power will be displayed. After three seconds, the oven will turn back to the previous state. In multi-stage state, the inquiring way can be done by the same way as above.

17. Lock Function For Children
Lock: In standby state, press “STOP/CANCEL” for 3 seconds, there will be along “beep” denoting the entering the children-lock state; meanwhile, the screen will display “ “ Lock cancellation: In locked state, press and hold “STOP/CANCEL” for 3 seconds, there will be-a long “beep” denoting that lock is released.

18. Cooking End Reminding Function
When the cooking is over, the buzzer will sound 5 “beeps” to alert user the cooking is finished.

19. Other Specifications

1. In standby state, the set time will have the icon “: “ would flash, otherwise, it shows “ 0:00 ”.
2. In setting function state, the screen displays corresponding setting.
3. In working or pause state, the screen displays surplus cooking

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Normal Functionality

Microwave oven interfering with TV reception| Radio and TV reception may be interfered with when the microwave oven is operational. It is like the interference of small electrical appliances, like, mixer, vacuum cleaner and electric fan. This is normal.
Dim oven light| In low power microwave cooking, the oven light may be dim, this is normal.
Steam accumulating on door, hot air out of vents.| In cooking, steam may come out of the food. Most of the steam will come out of the vents, but some may accumulate on cool place like the oven door. This is normal.
Oven started accidently with no food.| Stop the microwave immediately. The microwave should not run with any food in it and can be very dangerous.
Trouble| Possible Cause| Remedy
---|---|---
Oven can not be started. .| 1. Power cord not correctly inserted in the electrical power supply.| Unplug the microwave and plug it in again after 10 seconds.
2′ Fuse blown, or circuit breaker has tripped| Replace the fuse or reset your circuit breakers.
3. Trouble with the electrical power supply.| Test the electrical power supply outlet with an alternative appliance.
Oven does not heat| 1. Ensure the door is close properly| Ensure the door is closed correctly.

2 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

The Manufacturer hereby provides a warranty to the original purchaser of this product (‘the consumer’) that this product will be free of manufacturing defects in materials  and workmanship which under normal, personal, family or household use (commercial use expressly excluded) manifest themselves within the 2 year from the date of  purchase.

EXCLUSIONS

• The warranty does not include and will not be construed to cover products damaged as a result of disaster, misuse, commercial use, not in accordance within the written  instructions included with the product, abuse and/or any non-authorised modification of the product, incorrect installation of the product or normal wear and tear.
• Insect infestation of the electrical or motor makes the claim invalid.
• Broken Glass or Customer abuse do not fall under the warranty.

WAIVER
The warranty and the obligations of the Manufacturer provided herein are in lieu of, and the consumer, waives all other warranties, guarantees, conditions or liabilities, express or implied, arising by law or otherwise, including without limitation, any obligation of the manufacturer in respect of any injury, loss or damage (direct, indirect or  consequential) arising out of the use of, or inability to use this product and whether or not occasioned by the manufacturer’s negligence or any act or omission on its part.

PROOF OF PURCHASE
Any claim in terms of the warranty must be supported by a proof of purchase. If such proof is not available, then not withstanding anything to the contrary herein, the  service agent’s prevailing charges for services/repairs and/or spares will be payable by the Consumer upon collection of the repaired product. The Consumer should call the  Pick n Pay CUSTOMER CARE number on 0860 30 30 30 (only in South Africa). Customers residing outside South Africa can return the product back to a Pick n Pay store.  During the warranty period the product may only be serviced and/or repaired by the Manufacturer’s duly authorised agent(s).
If this product proves to be faulty during normal use due to defective materials or workmanship. Refer to our website for terms and conditions.

Note: Should you live in an outlying area or outside South Africa, it may be necessary to return the product to the store nearest to you.

COST OF REPAIRS
UNDER WARRANTY
Any items still under warranty will be repaired free of charge, as long as it complies with the terms and conditions of the warranty (refer to “warranties” section in this  manual). Any items that need to be repaired that are NOT covered in the warranty will be for the consumer’s expense. A quote for the repair/replacement of these items will  be provided to the consumer for approval prior to repairs being conducted.

OUT OF WARRANTY
Any items that need to be repaired once the warranty has expired will be for the consumer’s expense including call out fees. A quote for the repair/replacement of these items will be provided to the consumer for approval prior to repairs being conducted.
