QUICK USER GUIDE
Thank you for purchasing imation Portable HOD. Please refer below for installation guide of proper and warranty policy.
How to Connect
-
Turn on your computer and wait for it to finish loading.

Connect the Type-C cable to the drive.

Connect the Type-A cable to your computer.

Follow any on-screen instruction to complete the hardware installation of your new Portable Hard Disk Drive. You can also verify the drive has been installed properly by doing the following.

Windows
On your desktop, double click “‘My Computer”, and verify that Portable Hard Disk Drive is listed along with your other drives. -
Mac
Verify that the drive appears on your desktop.

If the drive does not appear on your computer, please consult the PC or laptop manufacture’s documentation for installing USB storage devices.
Windows
- From your desktop, click on the “Safely Remove Hardware” icon inside the system tray.
- Click on the “USB Mass Storage Device”
- The “Safe to Remove Hardware” message will now appear on your desktop and your drive can now be safely removed from the system.
Mac
- Locate the External USB Hard Drive or the Removable Drive named “IMEH100”.
- Click and drag the icon to the Trash or the Eject icon.
- After the disk icon is no longer on the desktop, you can safely disconnect the drive’s USB cable from your computer.
Precautions
- Do not connect wrong USB cable to imation External HOD.
- Do not remove External HDD from the device while writing, reading or deleting data or LED indicator lighting is flashing.
- Do not strike, bend, drop, wet or apply excessive force to Portable HDD. This may cause losses or damages to the product.
- Do not disassemble or damage External HOD. If External HDD has been disassembled or damaged by the user, all warranties will be void.
Warranty Policy
- imation External HDD product is covered by 3-year limited warranty from the original purchase date. Pursuant to the terms of imation warranty policy. imation will provide proper warranty service if the product fails under normal use. For products that are out-of-warranty period hereunder. imation may refuse to provide any warranty service.
Warranty Limitations

The warranty stated herein does not apply if any product failure is caused by
- Acts of improper use such as prolonged exposure to(* abnormal humidity and temperature)
- Malfunction of other equipment.
- Acts of nature.
- Defects or damages from moving or dropping after purchase.
- Damaged connector.

- imation is not responsible for any cost caused by defects or damages of products from misuse or neglect. Moreover, never does responsibility apply to any data loss or recovery. It is your responsibility to always have backup copies of important data.
