Safety information for vacuum cleaners

Read all the safety information and instruc-tions. Failure to observe the safety informa-tion and follow instructions may result in elec-tric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

  • This vacuum cleaner is not inten-ded for use by children or persons with physical, sensory or mental impairments. It should not be used by persons who have insufficient experience and knowledge. Other-wise, there is a risk of operating er-rors and injuries.

  • Supervise children. This will ensure that children do not play with the va-cuum cleaner.
WARNING Do not vacuum any harmful sub stances, e.g. beech or oak wood dust, rock dust or asbestos. These substances are con-sidered carcinogenic. Make sure you inform yourself about the applicable regulations/laws on how to handle harmful types of dust in your country. able for vacuuming dry sub- stances. The penetration of liquids increases the risk of an electric shock.

  • NOTE: The vacuum cleaner must only be used and stored indoors. The penetration of rain or moisture into the top of the vacuum cleaner increases the risk of elec-tric shock.

  • Ensure that the workplace is well ventilated.

  • The vacuum cleaner should be repaired exclusively by a qualified professional using only genuine spare parts. This will ensure that the safety of the vacuum cleaner is maintained.

  • Before using the equipment for the first time, check that the vacuum hose is in perfect condition. Leave the vacuum hose fitted to the vacuum cleaner while doing this so that no dust escapes accidentally. Other-wise, you may end up inhaling dust particles.

  • Do not clean the vacuum cleaner by spraying a jet of water directly at it. Water entering the top of the va-cuum cleaner will increase the risk of electric shock.

  • Do not open the battery. There is a risk of short-circuit-ing.

  • In case of damage and improper use of the battery, va-pours may be emitted. The battery can set alight or ex-plode. Ensure the area is well ventilated and seek medical attention should you experience any adverse effects. The vapours may irritate the respiratory system.

  • If used incorrectly or if the battery is damaged, flam-mable liquid may be ejected from the battery. Contact with this liquid should be avoided. If contact accident-ally occurs, rinse off with water. If the liquid comes into contact with your eyes, seek additional medical attention. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause ir-ritation or burns.

  • The battery can be damaged by pointed objects such as nails or screwdrivers or by force applied externally. An internal short circuit may occur, causing the battery to burn, smoke, explode or overheat.

  • When the battery is not in use, keep it away from pa-per clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that could make a connection from one terminal to another. A short circuit between the battery terminals may cause burns or a fire.

  • Only use the battery with products from the manufac-turer. This is the only way in which you can protect the battery against dangerous overload.

  • Only charge the batteries using chargers recommen-ded by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery may pose a fire risk when used with a different battery.

  • Protect the battery against heat, e.g. against continuous intense sunlight, fire, dirt, water and moisture. There is a risk of explosion and short-circuiting.

  • Do not vacuum hot or burning dust or in potentially ex-plosive areas. Dust can easily ignite or explode.

Rechargeable battery

Charging the battery

Use only the chargers listed in the technical data.

  • Only these chargers are matched to the lithium-ion battery of your dust extractor.

  • Note: The battery is supplied partially charged. To ensure full battery capacity, fully charge the battery in the charger before using your power tool for the first time.
The lithium-ion battery can be charged at any time without reducing its service life. Interrupting the charging process does not damage the battery.
The lithium-ion battery is protected against deep discharge by the “Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)”. A protective circuit switches the cordless dust extractor off when the battery is drained.

  • Do not continue to press the on/off button after the dust extractor has automatically switched itself off. This can damage the battery.

Inserting the Battery

  • Push the charged battery into the battery holder until it clicks into place.

Removing the Battery

  • To remove the rechargeable battery, press the battery re-lease button and pull the battery out. Do not use force to do this.
  • The rechargeable battery has two locking levels to prevent the battery from falling out if the battery release button is pressed unintentionally. The rechargeable battery is held in place by a spring when fitted in the dust extractor.

Battery charge indicator

  • The green LEDs on the battery charge indicator indicate the state of charge of the rechargeable battery. For safety reas-ons, it is only possible to check the state of charge when the dust extractor is not in operation.
  • Press the button for the battery charge indicator or to show the state of charge. This is also possible when the re-chargeable battery is removed.
  • If no LED lights up after pressing the button for the battery charge indicator, then the rechargeable battery is defective and must be replaced.

Recommendations for Optimal Handling of the Battery

  • Protect the battery against moisture and water.
  • Only store the battery within a temperature range of −20 to 50 °C. Do not leave the battery in your car in the summer, for example.
  • Occasionally clean the ventilation slots on the battery using a soft brush that is clean and dry.
  • A significantly reduced operating time after charging indic-ates that the battery has deteriorated and must be replaced. Follow the instructions on correct disposal.
