MIJIA Two-way Radio Instruction Manual

Notes

The Public Channel of this radio (409.7500 MHz – 409.9875 MHz) meets the current industry standards for public radios specified by the government of People’s Republic of China. It is available for anyone to use, with or without SRRC certification.

To use the Remote Channel and Self-defined Channel (144.000 MHz – 148.000 MHz, 430.000 MHz – 440.000 MHz), you first need to go through the radio station setting procedure at local regulation and administration office of radio services to receive a radio station license before activating the two channel modes.

Channel Descriptions

The transmitting power of the radio is low and its communication distance is short as the Public Channel is being used;
The transmitting power of the radio is high and the communication distance is as long as the Remote Channel or the Self-defined Channel is being used;
For the VHF (Very High Frequency) spectrum 144.000 MHz – 148.000 MHz, a specialized antenna is enclosed to extend communications distance in open spaces. It is unseen by default and has to be activated via the APP.

Product and Accessories

Tips: The USB cable and the antenna are packed in the back of the white cardboard lining of the pack for extraction.

Initial Installation

Installation of Antenna

Hold the bottom of the antenna, point it at connecter which is located at the top of the radio and then rotate clockwise until tight and secure.

Notice: Please ensure the antenna has been properly installed before using, otherwise the transmission may cause damage to the transmitter.

Charger Connection

When the radio is being charged, the indicator will light yellow, and turns green when fully charged.

Notice: Please charge with original USB cable and power adapter, which meets technical requirements.

Notice: Although the MIJIA two-way radio is compatible with most of the mainstream earphones on the market, you will need to press the PTT key on the radio to speak. If the earphones have a microphone, you need to speak to the microphone.

First Use

Communication
Radios that are powered on and on the same channel can communicate with each other.
Press the PTT button, hold the radio within 3~5 cm in front of your face and talk, then loosen the button to end the transmission.
APP Downloading and Installing
Scan the QR code to download the APP. The APP can be found in the APP store for both Android and iOS systems.
Make sure the radio is powered on, open the APP and operate according to the pop-up windows present in the APP.

Notice: Due to technology and software updates, the actual device functions may not always agree with the hardcopy instructions. To obtain the latest function instructions and safety guidelines, please download the APP of MIJIA two-way radio. Everything is subject to the instructions stated in the APP.

Warnings

Transmission of the radio may affect electronics and/or medical devices, please do not use the radio in the following situations.

Hospitals, or anywhere near people wearing cardiac pacemakers or other medical devices;
Gas station and places near other flammable materials (including flammable gases, dusts, metal powders and granular powders);
On airplanes (and anywhere else near electronic devices that can be easily disturbed)
Any other place that has warnings or restrictions on radio devices.

To avoid possible equipment failure, or personal harm, please DO NOT conduct mal-operations as follows:

Charging the radio with any power higher than the prescribed voltage;
Disassemble or refit the radio;
Immerse the radio into water;
Strike or toss the radio.

If any of the following abnormal situations happens, please stop charging immediately, or turn off the power if you are using the radio, and contact the after-sales service department for further assistance.

If the radio or the charger during charging starts smoking or emitting a peculiar smell, please turn off the radio immediately and pull out the attaching plug to prevent any overheating, fire, or even possible explosions

Other Notes

Please do not put the radio in the sun or anywhere near a heater;
Please do not use the radio near a television or radio to avoid interference;
Please don’t use the radio in crowded places, as the antenna may hurt people.

Warranty Policy

Based on Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Consumer’s Rights and Interests and The Product Quality Law of the People’s Republic of China, the after-sales service of MIJIA two-way radio strictly implements the “Three Guarantees” after-sales service, with contents as follows:

Within the 7 days after you signed for the radio, if there is any malfunction that’s listed on the Product Performance Malfunction List of the Radio, after an examination and confirmation from the official after-sales service center, you may get exchange the device for free, or refunded.
Within the 8 to 15 days after you signed for the radio, if there is any malfunction that’s listed on the Product Performance Malfunction List of the Radio, after an examination and confirmation from the official after-sales service center, you can get the free exchange or maintenance service;
Within the 12 months after you signed for the radio, if there is any malfunction that’s listed on the Product Performance Malfunction List of the Radio, after an examination and confirmation from the official after-sales service center, you can get the free maintenance service;

Warranty Information

Non-Warranty Policy

For situations followed (possibly more) you will need to pay for the service of maintenance conducted by official after-sales personnel.

Any malfunction or damage caused by disassembling, repair, refit, misuse, overuse, liquid inlet, accidents, or use of non-original parts without the authorization of Xiaomi Company;
Expiration of the “Three Guarantees” period;
Damages caused by force majeure;
Any situation that is not included in the Product Performance Malfunction List;
Man-made malfunction of the product and/or accessories that is included in the Product Performance Malfunction List;
Any damage caused by the using, maintaining, and adjusting that are not defined in this Instruction Manual;
Malicious damage of the warranty card or the information on the main body of the radio, including blurring, tearing, tampering, etc.;
Other malfunctions and damages that are not caused by the design, manufacturing, or quality of the product itself;
Products that are sold in the Mainland China will only receive the National Insurance Service of Mainland China.
