INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
JUNO QUICK CONNECT REMODEL LED HOUSINGS – QCR SERIES

**** IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
For your protection, read carefully before proceeding with installation. To be installed by a qualified electrician. Heavy duty gloves should be worn to protect hands from sharp edges. Protective eye wear should be worn to prevent injury to eyes.

Electric current can cause painful shock, serious injury, or death. For your safety, remember the following:
• Turn off the power supply.
• Ground the fixture to avoid potential electrical shocks.
• Do not handle an energized fixture.
• Check all electrical connections to be sure they are tight and correct. -
Specific safety information concerning LED trim.
• Match fixture and LED trim based on product labeling.
• Do not remove or insert LED trim when power is on.
• Do not subject LED trim to undue pressure as it may cause LED trim damage.
• Protect operating LED trim from direct contact with water -
Make sure appropriate trim and rough-in are used. Match labels on both fixture and trim.

Install and wire fixtures per all applicable national and local electrical codes.

This product may be installed in either type IC or Non-IC applications.
**CAUTION: RISK OF FIRE**
Most dwellings built before 1985 have supply wire rated 60°c. Consult a
qualified electrician before installation.
Mount per all national and local codes.
USING INSULATION:
Housings are designed for direct contact with insulating materials which are
approved for this application (Fig. 1).
USING GASKETS (only available for some models):
Housings are supplied with pre-installed gaskets for energy savings and to
comply with energy code air leakage requirements per ASTM E283.
INSTALLATION STEPS
Step 1. Locate center of proposed opening on ceiling and use template to
mark and accurately cut a 4-3/8″ (for 4″ housings), 5-1/2″ (for 5″ housings)
or a 6-3/4″ (for 6″ housings) opening. (Fig. 2).
Step 2. Follow steps 1-4 under electrical connection.
Step 3. Press housing through ceiling opening so it is flush to ceiling
(Fig. 3).
Push retention clips outwards until each clip tab clicks into position.
Note: To remove housing from ceiling, push tab on clip upward to
disengage.
Step 4. For some models, apply tape strips over each of the retention
clips and slots. Cover completely with the tape strips. Use the supplied
strips, do not substitute with duct tape (Fig. 4).
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1. Provide electrical service according to your local electrical
code to the wiring box located on the remodel housing. Supply wire insulation
must be rated for at least 90°C.
Step 2. Remove wiring box cover. Remove the appropriate knock-out(s) to
accommodate the type of electrical service to be used/ allowed by your local
electrical code (Fig. 5): Flexible Metal Conduit. Remove appropriate round
knock-out(s) and connect conduit to wiring box with proper connectors (not
supplied.) Non-Metallic Cable. Remove appropriate knock-out(s) from top of
wiring box and insert cable, pushing it past the cable grip. No other
connector is required.
Step 3: Connect supply wires to fixture wires with proper size wire nuts
(not supplied) so as to cover all bare current carrying conductors. Connect
black fixture wire to hot, white fixture wire to neutral and green fixture
wire to ground.
Note: some housings include quick connectors in the junction box as an
alternative to wire nuts. If applicable, strip supply wire 3/8, insert each
supply wire into appropriate junction box connector.
Step 4. Place all wiring and connections back in wiring box and replace
cover.
TRIM INSTALLATION:
This housing is only intended to be used with trims marked on the housing. For instructions on how to install the trim, refer to the instructions supplied with the trim.
