DANGER
Disconnect electric power to the ice machine at the electric switch box before proceeding. Failure to disconnect the power at the main power supply disconnect could result in serious injury or death. The power switch DOES NOT disconnect all incoming power.
The K00522 conversion kit is design to convert your existingSPA 310 or SPA160 to an SFA model which includes a water valve in addition to the ice dispenser.

Tools required that are not included with this kit

  • 3″ saw hole
  • 1/4” drill bit
  • Cordless power drill
  • Phillips screw driver
  • 9/16” box wrench
  • 11/32” or adjustable wrench

Installation

Step 1 Disconnect power
Disconnect power from the dispenser by unplugging the power cord from the electrical outlet.
Step 2 Remove front panel

  1. Using a Phillips head screwdriver remove the two screws located on both sides of the ice chute.
  2. With the screws out, remove the front panel by grasping both sides and pulling downwards towards you until it is clear of the ice chute, then pull the panel up and out.

Step 3 Drill hole for Water Valve

  1. Stand front panel upright on end.
  2. Drill a hole from the backside of the panel using the template at the end of this manual and a 3” hole saw. Drill the hole on the flat surface to the left of the ice chute opening.
  3. Deburr the edges and clean up all shavings.

Step 4 Mount the valve and bracket in the hole

  1. Place the valve assembly and bracket into the 3” hole.

  2. Square the upper left 90” corner of the bracket to center the valve in the middle of the 3” hole. Bracket must be flush along the front edge or the front panel.

  3. Use the holes in the bracket to drill two 1/4 inch holes into the plastic.

Step 5 Mount the valve and bracket into the hole

  1. Place the valve assembly and bracket face down into the hole and fasten the bracket to the front panel with the bolts and nuts provided.

Step 6 Remove Grommet in rear panel

  1. Reach in from the front of the dispenser to remove the black grommet on the rear of the dispenser.

Step 7 Insert water tube into the back panel

  1. Insert the water hose with the left elbow through the hole, and feed the hose through until the fitting is flush with the back panel.
  2. Using the two screws, fix the flange to the back of the dispenser.

Step 8 Connect hose to the valve

  1. Run the hose line to the front of the panel and secure the hose to the water valve. Verify the nylon washer is in place. Tighten snug with a 9/16 or adjustable wrench.

Step 9 Secure the hose to the front panel

  1. Drill a 14” hole from the front side of the panel in the side wall of the dispense area.
  2. Secure the hose using the provided hose clamp, nut and screw.

Step 10 Connect the water line

  1. Connect the water line to the flange on the back of the dispenser.
  2. Turn the water on.
  3. Check for leaks, make sure there is no leakage from the water tap to the flange or dripping from the valve to ensure there are no leaks.
  4. Place cover on top of the water valve

Step 11 Install the front panel

  1. Push the front panel all the way back into its final position, replace the two screws on both sides of the ice chute.

  2. Place water label on the front panel.
