Brief description of the press device
Automatic press cycle
The press device features positive control. During pressing, the press device remains in the position reached, even if start button (1) is temporarily released. When the intended switch-off force is achieved, it is perceptible by means of an increase in the motor speed and a discernible decrease in pressure. After releasing start button (1), the device returns to its initial position. For safety reasons, the positive control is only activated after a minimum force has been attained. Until this force is achieved, the pressing process can be interrupted at any time by releasing the button. The device then automatically returns to its initial position.
Release button
In the event of an emergency, release start button (1) immediately. During pressing, the press device remains in its current position. By pressing and holding release button (2), the piston in the press device returns to its initial position.
Rotatable head
The press tool is equipped with a rotatable crimping head. The head is rotatable by 270°. Within the range of these 270° the crimping head can be moved into any position. It is only possible to adjust the crimping head before the pressing operation. The crimping head cannot be rotated while the pressing operation is being performed.
Commissioning and operation
Preparing the EFP203
CAUTION: Fingers risk being crushed if the device is operated without a press jaw/adaptor jaw (Fig. 2)
If no press jaw/adaptor jaw is fitted, fingers could be placed in the at-risk zone. Fingers could be crushed when the device is started.
