Why does the nozzle tube have a hole in it?

Yes, this hole is intended to be there. There is nothing wrong with the unit. It is designed to prevent difficult push/pull and not allow debris to affect the nozzle.

How do I attach the floor nozzle/power head to the main unit?

The neck of the power nozzle must either be flat down (180 degrees from nozzle) or at a straight angle (90 degrees) to ensure it is locked in place. Push firmly until a click is heard. Attach the hose beforehand to prevent it getting squeezed on wheel.

Why are there holes on the Crevice Tools?

If you need to increase suction when using the crevice tool, simply cover one or both the holes to increase the suction. Always test suction level BEFORE covering the holes as it is very strong by default.

Can I just buy the wheels?

Wheels are not replaceable. The entire power nozzle will be required.

What is the light on top of my power nozzle for?

That is the Brush Roll Indicator. That will glow RED when something is blocking the brush roll. Should that happen, you will need to turn off the machine and check the brush roll.

How do I wash the filters?

Rinse filters under running tap water until the water runs clear. Squeeze filters and let air dry for 24 hours before replacing. Do not wash in dishwasher or washing machine.

How often should I wash the filters?

• For optimal performance, wash pre-motor foam and felt filters every month under normal use.
• For optimal performance, wash post-motor filter every 12 months under normal use.

Can I get this machine with a HEPA filter?

Regrettably, no. At this time, the Shark Navigator Deluxe Upright is not offered with a HEPA filter. However, the combination of pre-motor and post motor filters will help protect you from allergens with only minimal maintenance.
