Tips for fresh food refrigeration

  • Do not place hot food directly into the refrigerator or freezer as this will increase the internal temperature causing the compressor to run more vigorously thus consuming more energy.
  • Cover or wrap food, especially if it has a strong smell.
  • Position food correctly so that air can circulate freely around it.

Tips for freezer

    • On first start-up or after a period of non-use, before placing food in the chamber, allow the appliance to run for at least 2 hours on the highest setting.
  • Divide food into small portions so that it can be quickly and  completely frozen and so that you can defrost only the amount you need.
  • Wrap food in foil or plastic wrap and make sure the packages are airtight.
  • Fresh, unfrozen food should not touch the already frozen food to prevent the temperature of the already frozen food from rising.
  • Frozen products, if eaten immediately after removal from the freezer compartment, may cause ice burns to the skin.
  • It is recommended that you note the contents and date of each frozen package so that you can keep track of the storage time

Tips for storing frozen food

  • Ensure that commercial frozen products have been properly stored by the retailer.
  • Once thawed, food spoils quickly and cannot be refrozen.
