General questions:

Why is the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away vacuum better than traditional vacuums?

The Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away vacuum features 3 unique ways to vacuum in one! It offers the power of an upright, the convenience of a Lift- Away, and the ease of a canister. It delivers powerful cleaning on all surfaces, No Loss of Suction, is lightweight, and features enhanced swivel steering for the ultimate in maneuverability. Plus, it comes with an extra- large dust cup and our Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology that traps over 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum.Based on AS F1977 of particles between 0.3 and 0.5 microns.

What is Powered Lift-Away?

Extending the reach of the powered cleaning head to get all the way in, around, behind, and under every tough to reach area in your home! Imagine deep cleaning your entire house without ever moving a single piece of furniture.

What is the story and technology behind “Never Loses Suction”?

Never Loses Suction is an advanced cyclonic technology that separates fine dirt from the air, preventing dirt from clogging the filters and keeping suction power strong over time. The Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away vacuum maintains its suction power so you never lose cleaning power.

What is Shark Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology?

If your vacuum is an unsealed HEPA vacuum, dirt and allergens that you vacuum up can escape back into the air that you breathe before they even reach the HEPA filter. With Shark Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology incorporated with the HEPA filter, the vacuum captures and holds over 99.9%** of dust and allergens inside the vacuum, so that it is not released back into the air you breathe.

For proper operation, ensure all parts are firmly clicked into place.

How do I begin cleaning floors?

This Shark upright vacuum has two powerful settings:
For bare floors and accessories: press the power button on the vacuum pod to turn on suction, then slide the surface selector to Hard Floor and move the suction slider on the handle to MAX suction. Tilt the handle back while you gently step on the floor nozzle. Note that the brushrolls will spin slowly in this mode.

General questions about maintenance:

How do I clean the filters and how often?

Filters may need to be cleaned if the vacuum stops picking up dirt, if airflow is restricted, or if you notice lighter or no suction. Between cleanings, hold filters over the trash and tap lightly to remove dust and debris as needed.
Pre-motor foam and felt filters: Rinse the pre-motor filters every 3 months.
Remove the dust cup, then take out the filters. Rinse filters with water only, and allow them to air-dry completely before reinstalling. Return the filters to their housing, reinstalling the felt filter first, followed by the foam filter. Reattach the dust cup.
Post-motor HEPA filter: Rinse the HEPA filter every 12 months, or as needed.
Press the tab on top of the filter cover and lift off the cover, then remove the HEPA filter. Rinse the filter with water only, then allow it to air-dry completely before reinstalling. When filter is completely dry, reinstall it and reattach the cover.

How do I empty the dust cup and how often?

For optimal performance, empty the dust cup each time you vacuum, or when debris reaches the MAX FILL line.

Hold the dust cup over the trash and press the bottom release button. The bottom lid will drop open. Tap gently to empty contents. Press the lid shut again until it clicks. If needed, turn the dust cup upside down over the trash and lift the tab under the Shark logo to open the upper lid. Tap gently to remove contents and wipe the interior of the dust cup with a soft cloth.

How do I maintain the brushroll and softroller?

If any hair is wrapped around the brushroll, continue vacuuming, using Carpet/Low Pile mode on a bare floor surface, a low-pile carpet, or a small area rug. This will allow the self-cleaning brushroll to remove the hair wrap and send it to the dust cup. If you run over a hard or sharp object or notice a noise change while vacuuming, check for blockages or objects caught in the brushroll. If some fibers remain wrapped around the brushroll after continued use, carefully remove them.

Softroller: Slide the Soft Roller access button forward to release the Soft Roller.

Hand wash the Soft Roller as needed. Use only water, and allow it to air-dry completely for at least 24 hours. Reinsert the Soft Roller in the front of the nozzle until it clicks into place.
