Installation Instructions
SECTION A
-
CAUTION: APPLY A CONTINUOUS BEAD OF WEATHER–PROOF CAULKING BETWEEN MOUNTING BASE PLATE AND WALL TO ENSURE WEATHER–TIGHT INTEGRITY OF ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS.
-
Secure base plate to wall with (4) 1/4” diameter fasteners (by others) using the (4) holes located on the outer corners of the base plate oriented as shown with the embossed part number on the top.
Check the base plate to confirm that it is level and plumb in all directions. -
Prepare the cover plate by verifying the factory installed gasket is in place on the backside of the cover plate.
-
Note for the next steps the curved portion of the cover plate should point upwards when mounted to the wall.
Note: The next pages are luminaire specific.
Choose the SECTION B installation steps corresponding to the luminaire being
installed (also reference the luminaire installation instruction sheet).
SECTION B-RAD1
- Make certain that all power is disconnected prior to installing the fixture.
- For wall mounting, slide the square pole adaptor onto the threaded rod first. Insert threaded rod of luminaire arm into top hole of WBA cover plate and through the unthreaded top hole of backing plate. Align the center unthreaded hole of the backing plate with the WBA cover plate’s center hole. See Figure 1B.
- Using 9/16” wrench tighten nut onto threaded rod to 20-25 ft-lb.
- Using T20 driver, loosen single screw holding wiring access cover and set aside for reinstallation. See Figure 2B.
- Using the supplied 3/8” bolt, slide it into the arm, through the bottom hole on the square pole adaptor, cover plate and into lower threaded hole of backing plate. Using 9/16” wrench to 20-25 ft-lb. See Figure 3B.
- Pull wires through the center hole of the arm, square pole adaptor, cover plate, and backing plate.
- By aligning hooks within the cutouts in the front of the arm, replace the wire access cover (from step 4) and tighten the screw using T20 driver to 15-20 in-lb. See Figure 4B.
- Proceed to section C.
SECTION B-RSX/VCPG/KAX
- Open up the luminaire carton and locate the threaded steel bar, and the 2″ long, 3/8” diameter lock bolts (2). Stop Important: Installing a RSX, KAX or VCPG series luminaire, you will discard the 1-1/2” long bolts that came with the wall mounting assembly and use the 2” long luminaire bolts.
- On the underneath side of the luminaire arm, remove the wire access cover plate and set aside for reinstallation. (Figure 1B)
- Insert the 3/8” lock bolts through the back wall of the luminaire arm, through the cover plate, and then thread into the threaded steel bar, simultaneously pulling the wires through the center hole (Figure 2B). The luminaire is supplied with a clearance slot in the back to allow wires to be pulled into the WBA cover plate. Tighten the two bolts with a 9/16” hex socket to 20-30 ft-lbs.
- Make sure that wires are not pinched and tuck excess wire up into the luminaire mounting area. Reinstall the wire access cover plate from step 2, and tighten the two captive screws with the 9/64 Allen wrench to 18-20 in-lbs.
- Proceed to section C.
SECTION B- AS2, AST2, MR2, MRT2, CSX, DSX G1
- Prepare the cover plate by attaching the Aeris mounting block to the cover plate using (2) 3/8″ diameter by 1-1/4″ bolts with lockwashers by inserting the bolts and washers into the mounting block through the cover plate and thread into the threaded steel bar stock. Use a 9/16″ socket or wrench and tighten securely (Figure 1B).
- Open doorframe by loosening the (2) captive doorframe screws using 3/16″ allen wrench.
