Disassembly
-
Remove the top part of the case — there are 3
PH2
screws on both sides. If the thermal conductive tape stays on the top cover, remove it and put it on the aluminum heatsink .
-
Disconnect all u.fl cables connected to win card WLE900VX / DR900VX (long card).
-
Remove WLE900VX / DR900VX wifi card. To unscrew the screws, use the
PH1
screwdriver. -
Insert Wifi6 card AW7915-NP1.
-
Remove the middle pigtail u.fl-RP-SMA from the back of the case (3rd position from either side). You will not need this one anymore. To remove it, use a socket wrench size 8.
-
Remove plastic plugs
PGM-6
from the back of the case (2nd and 4th position). -
Remove both diplexers from the back of the case. They are in first and fifth positions. Refit them back into the second and fourth positions where the plugs used to be. Make sure to keep a plastic holder on the diplexers. It will make attaching the antennas easier. If you did everything according to this guide, you should have u.fl-u.fl cables still connected to the diplexers and the WLE200N2 / DNXA-97-H Wi-Fi card (the short one). If you disconnected them, connect WLE200N2 / DNXA-97-H Wi-Fi card with connectors on diplexers marked
2, 4 .
Assembly
-
Connect connectors on diplexers with marking
5, 8
with new Wi-Fi 6 card.
-
Old router might have connectors swapped (as shown in the picture above), so read the marking carefully.
-
Plug u.fl-RP-SMA pigtails (16 and 18 cm long) into the new Wi-Fi 6 card
-
Put
RP-SMA
connectors from the new pigtails into the side holes in the new top cover. To tighten the nut, use the socket wrench size8
. Tooth washers are supposed to be from the outside of the case underneath the nut.
-
Close the case. All the light guides should fit into the holes in the top part of the case. Don’t forget thermal conductive tape between the aluminum heatsink and the top cover.
-
Screw back all 6
PH2
screws to the sides of the case. -
You can put plugs
PGM-6
into empty holes in the back of the case
The upgrade kit does not contain a spare plug. If you need one, you can order it here. -
Now you can plug all the cables back into your router, start it up and configure your Wi-Fi 6.
