The Swidget Wi-Fi Control + HD Camera Insert is a modular smart home solution engineered for seamless integration with all Swidget wiring devices. Swidget’s Wi-Fi Control Devices and Inserts simplify the process of upgrading your home to a smart living space. Swidget Devices are installed in your home just like any other wiring devices, ensuring there is no unnecessary complexity during installation. Once your device is installed, simply select your desired sensor capability, and snap your Swidget Wi-Fi Control Insert into the Swidget wiring device. The modularity of Swidget’s Inserts ensures that the solution is adaptable to your needs as they change, and future-proofs your investment by enabling you to adapt to new technologies, sensors, and trends as they emerge.”

Swidget Wiring Devices
The Insert must be installed in a Swidget wiring device to operate. The
following wiring devices are available.
- Auxiliary Control Switch – S16009WA
- 20/40/60 Switch – S16008WA
- Dimmer Switch – SD3001WA
- 1P/3Way Switch – S16001WA
- 15A Outlet – R1015SWA
- 20A Outlet – R1020SWA
The final features and functionalities will depend on your selection of Insert
- wiring device combination.
IMPORTANT
This Insert must only be installed and used with an approved/certified Swidget
wiring device. Usage with any other devices is not permitted and will result
in the warranty becoming void.
WARNING
- While not required, it is recommended to avoid any risk of shock or death, turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse and test that the power is off before installing or removing any Insert.
- Not for use to control medical or life support equipment.
- For INDOOR use only: 0°C – 40°C (32°F – 104°F).
- Insert can only be installed in one orientation. Rear alignment pins prevent incorrect installation. Do not forcibly install an Insert.
- Do not use Swidget devices to control electric heaters or any other appliances which may present a hazardous condition due to unattended or unintentional or automatic power on control.
- Requires a wireless router and Internet connection for device setup.
- Double check any external Wi-Fi settings for accuracy before using them.
- Actual wireless performance in a home depends on the numbers of walls/obstacles between the Insert and wireless router.
Using A MicroSD Card
Enhance your Swidget Wi-Fi Control + HD Camera Insert functionality with the
addition of a microSD card.
This feature allows for expanded storage and recording capabilities. Please
note the following important points regarding the use of a microSD card with
your device.
NOTE
Please be aware that a microSD card is not included with the purchase of the
Swidget Wi-Fi Control + HD Camera Insert.
You will need to acquire this separately. It is recommended to use a good
quality, high endurance microSD card to increase the recording and storage
reliability.
Compatibility And Installation
The Swidget Wi-Fi Control + HD Camera Insert is compatible with microSD card
format. To install, simply insert the microSD card into the designated slot
located at the back of the insert.
Recording Options
With a microSD card installed, you have the flexibility to enable event-based
recording or opt for continuous recording. This feature ensures you capture
what isimportant to you and your home’s security.
Requirements
Storage Capacity: The Swidget Wi-Fi Control + HD Camera Insert supports
microSD cards with a maximum capacity of 256GB. This allows for extensive
video storage, accommodating your security needs.
Formatting Requirements: The microSD card needs to be formatted in exFAT. Upon inserting a new card, the Swidget app will prompt you to format it. Please be aware that formatting the card will erase all existing data on it. Ensure any important data is backed up before proceeding with the formatting.
Installation
CAUTION
It is recommended to turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse and to test
that the power is off before installing or removing an Insert.

Orient the Insert to line up with the pins in the wiring device cavity.
NOTE
Alignment pins will prevent incorrect installation. -
Push Insert into the wiring device cavity until the two side latches engage.

Re-enable power to the circuit breaker.

The LED on the Insert will be solid green for approximately 30 seconds as the device prepares. It will then blink blue, indicating it’s ready for network pairing.

For Inserts being moved from a previously paired wiring device, the Insert will power up with the previous location settings.
Insert Operation
Wi-Fi Network Pairing/Joining

Download the Swidget app from the iOS App Store or Google Play.

Open the S widget app and sign-in or create an account. Tap the + icon on the top right and follow the App’s instructions to pair your insert using the QR code pairing method.

Ensure the Insert is ready to pair. If the Insert is not in pairing mode, remove the Insert from the wiring device and re-install or perform a factory reset.
Wi-Fi Control + HD Camera Insert Pairing

The Wi-Fi Control + HD Camera Insert is ready for pairing when the LED is blinking blue. Tap the + icon on the top right and follow the App’s instructions to pair your insert using the QR code pairing method.

When prompted to scan the QR code, you can do one of the following:
a. Scan the QR code on the security card includedin the package
b. Remove the Insert, scan the QR code located on the top and re-install the Insert.
c. If none of the above work, you can enter the QR code manually using the 16-digit code printed on the security card. -
A confirmation on the App will confirm if the QR code has been scanned successfully followed by a prompt to select a room and name your device.

To provide network credentials to the Insert, select the network name and provide the network password and tap continue. This will generate a QR code on your mobile device which needs to be scanned by the Wi-Fi Control + HD Camera Insert

Hold you mobile device 15cm (6in) away from the camera, aligning the QR code with the camera’s lens and move back and forth slowly until the LED on the insert turns purple.
NOTE
If the Wi-Fi Control + HD Camera Insert LED keeps blinking blue and doesn’t
turn purple, try the pairing process with a different mobile device or print
the QR code and hold the print in front of the camera’s le
Factory Reset
- Lightly press Insert push button and hold for 12-15 seconds until the LED turns SOLID RED, and then release.
- The LED on the Insert will be solid green for approximately 30 seconds as the device prepares. It will then blink blue, indicating it’s ready for network pairing.
IMPORTANT
When a factory reset is performed, all of the insert’s information will be
deleted, including settings and automations.
Manual Device Switching
- Lightly press the Insert push button and hold for 1-5 seconds then release. The wiring device will toggle states.

Warranty
After having been installed according to your local electrical code and by a certified electrician when applicable, and having been used within normal operating conditions, Swidget Corp. will repair or replace (at Swidget’s discretion) any product that fails due to manufacturing defects for a period of 5 years for Swidget Host Devices and for a period of 2 years for Swidget Inserts. Any repair or replacement of defective products will extend the warranty by 90 days or the time remaining on the original warranty, whichever is longer. Post warranty repairs are not available.
Swidget shall not be held liable under this warranty for reasonable wear and tear, or damage(s) caused by the following: misuse, neglect, improper installation, abnormal operating conditions, unauthorized modifications or attempts to repair the product.
Any claims to Swidget made under this warranty shall not exceed the cost of the repairs or replacement of the product.
This warranty applies only to Swidget products purchased from an authorized distributor or retailer, and as such, Swidget reserves the right to request proof of purchase, and reject claims for purchases made through unauthorized distributors or retailers.
