functions and features, along with directions for assembling, operating,
cleaning, and maintaining your appliance. Please read all safety instructions

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury, including the following:

Read all instructions.

This appliance is not intended for use by children or by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.

Discard all packaging materials immediately to avoid a choking hazard.

Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.

To protect against fire, electric shock and other injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs or coffee maker in water or other liquid.

a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to an authorized service center for examination and repair. -
Do not use this appliance for anything other than its intended use.

The use of an accessory not recommended by the appliance manufacturer for use with this appliance may result in fire, electrical shock or injury to persons.

Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

Do not touch hot surfaces, including the carafe. Exercise caution. Use handles or knobs.

Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

Do not place on or near a hot electric or gas burner, or in a heated oven.

Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.

To disconnect the appliance, ensure the brew light is off and that the power cord is unplugged from the electrical outlet. Do not disconnect by pulling on the cord; instead, gently pull on the plug.

Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing and cleaning cycles. Allow to cool before opening the lid.

Keep your hands, face and other body parts away from the steam vent on the top of the coffee maker. The steam from the appliance becomes very hot during use. Do not cover the steam vent.

Do not attempt to operate the appliance with an empty water reservoir.
-
Do not remove the carafe or other vessel from the base of the coffee maker without the drip switch in the closed position.
-
Do not set a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface. Avoid sudden temperature changes.
-
The carafe is designed for use with this appliance only. It must never be used on a range top.

Do not use a damaged carafe or a carafe with a loose or weakened handle.
-
Always place the carafe, a tumbler, or mug on the base of the coffee maker to receive the brewed coffee.
-
Do not clean carafe with abrasive cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.
-
Check funnel and filter for presence of foreign objects before using.
-
Do not place fingers in the pod adapter to avoid contact with sharp needles that puncture the pod.
-
Do not use outdoors.

CORD AND PLUG SAFETY
- A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If an extension cord is used:
- a. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least equal to the electrical rating of the appliance; and
- b. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
ELECTRICAL POLARIZED PLUG
This unit has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk of electric shock, the plug is intended to be used by inserting it
into the electrical outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit securely
into the outlet, reverse the plug and re-insert. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician for assistance. Do not modify the plug in any
way.

KNOW YOUR COFFEE MAKER
MODE BUTTONS DRIP SWITCH DISPLAY AND CONTROL PANEL
CARAFE
BEFORE FIRST USE
- Remove all packaging materials, including stickers and labels.
- Thoroughly clean all parts with hot water, dishwashing liquid, and a non-abrasive sponge.
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before use.
- Before brewing coffee for the first time, cleaning the system is recommended. To do so, fill the water reservoir with water and run a brew cycle without coffee; then discard the water.
WARNING:
- Do not open the lid during brewing!
- Only hold the carafe by the carafe handle.
- Place and use the appliance on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface.
SETTING THE CLOCK
- Tap MINUTE or HOUR twice to adjust time.
- Tap HOUR to set the hour.
- Tap MINUTE to set the minute.
NOTE: Press and hold HOUR or MINUTE to adjust the time rapidly.
KEEP WARM & FRESHNESS TIMER
In CARAFE Mode, the keep warm mode will be on by default to keep coffee hot
for 2 hours. To disable or change the default settings:
- Press and hold HOUR and MINUTE together for 5 seconds. The keep warm time will blink on the display.
- Press HOUR or MINUTE to add 30 minutes, for up to 4 hours of keep warm. Continue to press for the OFF option.
- To confirm your settings, wait 5 seconds. These settings will then become the default keep warm settings.
WARNING: In CARAFE Mode, when brewing into a tumbler, only use a metal tumbler and turn keep warm off.
When in keep warm mode, the freshness timer on the display counts up, showing the time since the coffee was brewed.
BREW LATER
To program the coffee maker to brew coffee at a later time:
- Follow BREWING INSTRUCTIONS steps 1-7.
- Tap BREW LATER. The brew later light will blink.
- Tap HOUR / MINUTE until the display shows your desired brew time.
- Wait 5 seconds for the unit to program your selected time. The brew later light will then appear steady.
NOTE:
Ensure the drip switch is positioned under the word OPEN.
To cancel brew later, tap BREW LATER again. The brew later light will go off.
PAUSE & SERVE
During brewing, you can remove the carafe to pour a cup.
First, position the drip switch under the word CLOSE before removing the
carafe.
Aftter serving, return the carafe to the base and position the drip switch
under the word OPEN.
NOTE: Do not stop the brewing process for more than 1 minute.
CARAFE MODE
NOTE: Ensure there is no coffee pod in the unit before using carafe mode.

Place the carafe on the base of unit.
-
Press the CARAFE button. The lid will open, revealing the filter.
The word CARAFE will blink on the display. -
Scoop coffee into the filter.
(Suggested amount: 1 tablespoon per cup; add more for stronger coffee) -
Close the lid.
The word CARAFE will appear steady on the display.
The default size, 4 cups, will appear on the display. -
To choose another size (2-12 cups), tap SIZE until your desired amount appears on the display.

For stronger coffee, tap STRONG. The strong light will go on.

Position the drip switch under the word OPEN.
-
Tap BREW NOW to begin brewing. The brew light will blink.
NOTE: To cancel brewing, tap BREW NOW again.
When brewing is complete, the unit will beep and END will appear on the display. -
Position the drip switch under the word CLOSE before removing the carafe from the base.
The keep warm mode will keep coffee hot for 2 hours; the coffee maker will then automatically turn off. See KEEP WARM on page 8 for more information.
To turn off the keep warm mode at any time, tap BREW NOW and ensure the brew light is off.
POD MODE

Place a mug on the fold-away shelf, or a tumbler on the base of the unit.

Press the POD button. The lid will open, revealing the pod holder.
The word POD will blink on the display. -
Place a coffee pod into the pod holder.
-
Close the lid.
The word POD will appear steady on the display.
The default size, 6 ounces, will appear on the display. -
To choose another size (6-14 oz.), tap SIZE until your desired amount appears on the display.
-
For stronger coffee, tap STRONG. The strong light will go on.
-
Position the drip switch under the word OPEN.
-
Tap BREW NOW to begin brewing. The brew light will blink.
NOTE: To cancel brewing, tap BREW NOW again.
When brewing is complete, the unit will beep and END will appear on the display. -
Position the drip switch under the word CLOSE before removing the mug or tumbler.
IMPORTANT: Remove the used coffee pod from the unit after brewing.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
- Always turn off the coffee maker, unplug the power cord from the outlet, and allow the appliance to cool before cleaning.
- Do not immerse cord, plugs or coffee maker in water or other liquid.
BREW PLATE
Clean all removable parts after each use.
REMOVABLE PARTS
Clean with warm soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge.
NOTE: Ensure all parts are completely dry before use.
INTERIOR
Use a sponge or non-metal brush to clean the inside of the coffee maker. Then
wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
EXTERIOR
Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the coffee maker and carafe. Then
wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
NOTE FOR CLEANING CARAFE: Do not use harsh cleaning agents or metal
brushes, in order to avoid scratching the stainless-steel surface.
STORAGE
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.
- Make sure all parts are clean and dry.
- Store the appliance in a clean and dry place.
ENVIRONMENT
Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste
at the end of its life; instead, hand it in at an official collection point
for recycling. Doing so will help to preserve the environment.
