  • Unpack the fixture and glass from the carton.
  • Carefully review instructions prior to assembly.

INSTALLATION

  1. To install the glass the post fitter (P) must first be removed from the bottom of the cage. This is accomplished by removing the 4 screws (A) that hold the crossbars (B) in place – see Drawing 1.
  2. After the screws are removed lift off the post fitter with the crossbar and set it aside.
  3. To install glass panels follow the instructions below. After the panels are installed replace the post fitter.HINKLEY-23301-LED-Post-Top-or-Pier-Mount-Lantern-fig- \(1\)

DRAWING 2

  1. To install the glass panels (1), first, remove the four screws (2) that hold the four glass brackets (3) in place – see Drawing 2.
  2. After screws and brackets are removed The glass panels (1) can be slipped into place. This is accomplished by taking one panel and slipping the top edge of the glass into the slot (S) located in the top of the cage. Next center the glass between the upright (U). Now replace one of the brackets (3) removed earlier. Now slip in the second panel of glass and thread a screw (2) in the corner where the brackets (3) overlap. Repeat the process until all glass (1) panels are installed and all brackets and screws are replaced.
  3. The glass installation is complete.
  4. After the glass is installed secure loop (L) to the top of fixture (C). Note washer (F) should go in between the loop and the top of the fixture

Wiring Instructions

Indoor Fixtures

  1. Connect positive supply wire (A ) (typically black or the smoo the, unmarked side of the two-conduc tor cord) to positive fixture lead (B ) with an appropriately sized twist on the connector – see Dra wings 1 or 2.
  2. Connect negative supply wire (C) (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to negative fixture lead (D).
  3. Please refer to the grounding instructions below to complete all electrical connections.
Outdoor Fixtures
  1. Connect positive supply wire (A) (typically black or the smoo the unmarked side of the two-conductor cord) to positive fixture lead (B) with an appropriately sized twist on the connector — see Drawings 2 or 3.

  2. Connect negative supply wire (C) (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to negative fixture lead (D).

  3. The cover opens the end of connectors with silicone sealant to form a watertight seal.
If installing a wall mount fixture, use caulk to seal gaps between the fixture mounting plate (backplate) and the wall. This will help prevent water from entering the outlet box. If the wall surface is lap siding, use caulk, and a fixture mounting platform especially.

  4. Please refer to the grounding instructions below to complete all electrical connections.

Grounding Instructions

Flush Mount Fixtures

For positive grounding in a 3-wire electrical system, fasten the fixture ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) to the fixture mounting strap (M ) with the ground screw (S) – see Draw in g 1.
Note: On straps for screw supported fixtures, first install the two mounting screws in the strap. Any remaining tapped hole may be used for the ground screw.

Chain Hung Fixtures

Loop fixture ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) under the head of the ground screw (S) on the fixture mounting strap (M) and connect to the loose end of the fixture ground wire directly to the ground wire of the building system with appropriately sized twist-on connectors – see Draw in g 2.

Post-Mount Fixtures

Connect fixture ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) to the power supply ground with an appropriately sized twist-on connector inside the post. The cover opens the end of the connector with silicone sealant to form a watertight seal – see Drawing 3.
