Safety instructions
- Please read all safety instructions and observe, properly store and pass on to subsequent owners this operation manual.
- Mains connection: The voltage must comply with that shown on the appliance label.
- Regularly check if the power cable/appliance/extension lead is defective. Never switch on damaged appliances (incl. mains lead) – have repairs carried out/obtain a replacement from the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s service point or from qualified experts.
- Don’t pull the flex over sharp edges. Don’t wedge it. Don’t bend it. A short circuit can occur if the cable breaks. Never pull on the mains cable/with damp hands.
- Always switch off the device and plug out the power cable whenever you leave it unattended, before assembling/disassembling, cleaning, when it fails to work properly, after use. The plug must be within reach at all times.
- Switch the appliance off and pull the plug out of the mains when it is not in use.
- Never immerse appliance in water/other fluids. The danger of short-circuiting!
- Children aged 8 years or over and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, lack of experience or knowledge may only use the appliance if they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or if they have been shown how to use the appliance safely and they have understood the risks inherent in its use. Cleaning and maintenance tasks may not be carried out by children without supervision.
- Children should not be allowed to play with the appliance. Keep the appliance and its power cable out of reach of children aged under 8. Never leave the appliance unattended while in operation.
- Keep packaging (e.g. plastic bags) away from children.
- Never place the appliance/cable on hot surfaces or near open flames. Do not store/expose the appliance to intense heat (from radiators, or prolonged sunshine). Only extinguish burning appliances using a fire blanket.
- Do not use attachments not recommended/sold by the manufacturer.
- The appliance is designed for household use and not for industrial operation. Do not operate the appliance outdoors.
- Use the appliance on a dry, even, stable and heat-resistant surface. Allow the appliance to cool before storing away.
- Do not use this appliance near the water (bathtubs, washbasin, etc.) nor expose it to rain or other humidity. Ensure hands are dry when using the appliance!
- Should however the appliance fall into the water, only take it out after pulling the plug. Do not use the appliance anymore. It has to be checked by an authorized service department first.
- Never open the appliance yourself – risk of injury! Only trained experts should repair electrical appliances. Unskilled repairs can cause considerable danger to the user.
- No warranty for any damage can be accepted if the appliance is used for an improper purpose, wrongly operated or unprofessionally repaired. In such a case, any warranty claim is void.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated or connected to an external timer or separate remote control switch.
- Never place fingers or objects into appliance openings. Do not cover appliance opening.
- Beware of moving parts – the risk of injury!
- The appliance will become very hot during use – do not touch it, otherwise, you may burn yourself.
- Be careful of hot, rising steam when removing foods – the risk of burn!
- Only use the appliance outdoors. Keep combustible materials at least 70cm away from the appliance.
- Never pour water over the heating element or the control part.
- Never cover the grill with foil. Never operate the grill with charcoal or similar fuels – Caution: risk of overheating!
- Do not expose the grill to rain.
Disposal
- Make worn-out appliances unusable. Pull out the mains plug and sever the cord.
- Electric appliances are to be returned to a shop of sale or handed over to an official dump.
- No household waste. Must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Appliance description
Before using the appliance for the first time
Heating up
- Plug in
Manufacturing residue is burned. Smell/smoke may develop – open a window!
Grilling surfaces
Clean off with hot water, dry afterward
- Dishwasher-safe
Housing
Can be wiped with a damp cloth, then dried
Remove/mount grill plates
- Disconnect from the mains first and allow the appliance to cool.
Upper plate
- Support grill plate, unlock
- Remove grill plate
Lower plate
- Unlock grill plate
- Remove grill plate
Mounting
- Insert lower grill plate
- Insert upper grill plate
Cleaning
- Always unplug the power plug prior to cleaning and allow to cool properly.
- Clean off with hot water, dry afterward.
Dishwasher-safe
- Can be wiped with a damp cloth, then dried. Do not use scourers or solvents.
Do not clean under running water.
Important advice
- Never cut on the grilling surfaces with metal objects/knives
- Never put the appliance near easily inflamable material (e.g. near/underneath curtains).

Use
Preparation
- Place equipment in a stable position
- Open lid
- Place on a dry, flat surface
Prepare
- Plug in
- Pre-heat for ~ 2 min.

After processing
- Open lid
- Remove the grilled items
- Unplug
- Brush the grill surfaces with oil
- Close lid
- Put on the food for grilling (see recipes)
- Grilling/Toasting
- If required: adjust the temperature
- Allow cooling properly, clean
Recipes
Bacon – Cheese – Toast
- 4 Slices of toast
- 2 Slices of chees
- 2 Rashers of bacon
- 1 Ring of pineapple
- Put in lower slice of toast
- Lay cheese/bacon on top
- Add pineapple (well dried) on top
- Add top slice of toast
Chicken Sandwich
- 4 Slices of toast 1 Tin asparagus tips
- Chicken pieces, cooked 2 tbsp of béchamel sauce
- Put in lower slice of toast
- Heat sauce with spiced cheese spread over top
- Lay on top chicken, and asparagus (dried off)
- Add top slice of toast
Banana Sandwich
- 4 Slices of toast ½ Banana (sliced)
- Chicken pieces, cooked 2 tbsp of béchamel sauce
- Put in lower slice of toast
- Heat sauce with spiced cheese, spread over top
- Lay on top chicken, asparagus (dried off)
- Add top slice of toast
Crab Sandwich
- 4 Slices of toast 2 tsp of butter
- 2 tbsp of crab, cooked 2 tbsp of parsley
- Put in lower slice of toast
- Butter, garlic and parsley mix together, spread over top
- Add on top prawns (dusted with curry powder)
- Add top slice of toast
Warranty information
With this appliance, you get a 5-year guarantee starting from the date of purchase. Under the guarantee, in the case of material or manufacturing defects, the appliance will be replaced or repaired. Replacement with a new appliance or a money-back return is not possible. Excluded from the guarantee is normal wear and tare, commercial use, alterations to the appliance as purchased, cleaning activities, consequences of improper use or damage by the purchaser or a third person, and damage, that can be attributed to external circumstances or caused by the batteries. The guarantee requires that the faulty appliance be returned at the purchaser’s expense along with the retail outlet dated and signed guarantee card or a sales receipt.
