Standby Mode Amber – Solid

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for choosing DogFender, a safe and practical dog defence collar, designed to provide peace of mind to the conscientious pet owner. Unfortunately but thankfully rarely, our pets may suffer injuries, sometimes serious, as a result of unprovoked attacks from other animals. We at DogFender, sought to provide a defence to this potential threat and the DogFender Collar was born.

The DogFender collar is capable of repelling attacks from other dogs and protects your pet’s vulnerable areas – throat, head and shoulders. It does this in a user friendly and convenient package.

CHARGING DOGFENDER

Before use, fully charge your DogFender Collar and Remote Control Unit (RCU) in order to ensure battery longevity ( Fig 6). Charging status and subsequent battery levels are displayed on your DogFender (Fig 1). After charging the unit, the USB cover must be firmly closed to ensure a good water seal.

PAIRING PROCEDURE

  1. On the Remote Control Unit (RCU)
    first, press and hold down the LIGHT * button, without releasing this, press and hold down the DEFENCE  button, the Defence Level LEDs will flash (Fig 2), now release both buttons and swipe the RCU across the DogFender unit to pair (Fig 4).

  2. The DogFender Standby LEDs will flash amber (Fig 1). The Dog Fender Collar and the (RCU) LEDs will both pulsate for 3 seconds,

  3. the DogFender collar will then display solid amber. Your DogFender Collar and Remote Control unit are now paired. PLEASE FOLLOW OUR SAFETY GUIDELINES, PAGE 3.

MULTIPLE PAIRING

One RCU can be paired to operate more than one DogFender Collar, please repeat pairing instruction to each collar.

SAFETY GUIDELINES

DogFender is an innovative defence system, designed to repel aggressive dog- on-dog attacks by delivering a Static Pulse Stimulant.
DmgFender must only be used as a last line of defence and at all accordance with the and safety guidelites,
Safety guideline

  • DO NOT USE A DEFENCE STIMULANT LEVEL HIGHER THAN NECESSARY.
  • DO NOT TOUCH the collar contacts, when in defence mode ( Fig 1).
  • DO NOT USE DogFender for anything other than the purpose for which it was designed. Remember, most dogs are friendly.

Be a responsible dog owner and use your experience of another dog’s behaviour to appropriately assess each situation.

OPERATION & FUNCTIONALITY

TURNING ON (STANDBY MODE)

  1. Hold the Remote Control Unit (RCU), and swipe across DogFender to activate the Swipe Switch (Fig 1 &4) DO NOT press the DEFENCE and LIGHT buttons together, this was only necessary for pairing.
  2. The Battery Level LED panel will illuminate green indicating battery levels (Fig 1) , followed by solid amber LEDs. The DogFender collar is now in Standby Mode waiting for your command, see display panel (Fig la).

DEFENCE MODE

Using the RCU, press the Defence button once. The RCU LED signal indicator (Fig 2) will briefly illuminate, confirming a command has been sent to your DogFender collar. The Defence Level (Fig 2) will now indicate by the illumination of one LED, the lowest Defence Level has been activated. The DogFender Collar LEDs will confirm this setting by flashing 60 pulses/min. DogFender is now ready to repel an attack from a Small size dog. (Refer to Basic Safety Guidelines (Page 3).

Press the Defence button a second time. The RCU Defence Level will now indicate by the illumination of a second LED, the DogFender Collar LEDs will confirm this setting by flashing at 120 pulses/min. DogFender is now ready to repel an attack from a Medium size dog.

Press the Defence button a third time, the RCU Defence Level will now indicate by the illumination of a third LED. DogFender Collar LEDs will confirm this setting by flashing at 180 pulses/min. DogFender is now ready to repel an attack from a Large size dog.

DEACTIVATING DOGFENDER

Pressing the Deactivate Button (Fig 2) at any time will deactivate the DogFender Defence mode. The red LEDs will extinguish and be replaced by solid amber LEDs, indicating Standby Mode.

AUTO DEACTIVATE TIMER If D

ogFender is inadvertently left in Defence Mode, it will automatically Deactivate after 60 seconds and revert to Standby Mode.

TURNING DOGFENDER OFF

Simply swipe the RCU unit across the DogFender unit.

NIGHT LIGHT

Night lights will assist to locate your pet during poor light conditions (Fig 1). Effective up to 40 metres and activated/ deactivated by pressing the Light ON/OFF button on the RCU (Fig 2).

WATER SENSOR

Water Sensors (Fig 3) detect the build up of water on your dog’s fur and will prohibit Defence Mode. This will be indicated by flashing amber LEDs.

Once your pet has shaken itself, its fur will then usually be sufficiently dry in order for DogFender Defence Modes to be re-activated, this will be indicated by solid amber LEDs.

Please note the longer and more dense the fur, the longer the water sensors may require before use of the defence function.

After charging the unit, the USB cover must be firmly closed to ensure a good water seal.

  • Make sure DogFender has been paired, see pairing procedure (Page 2)

  • Press the reset button using the reset pin supplied for 10 seconds (Fig 3)
    DogFender still not responding to a command

  • Insert mini USB and charge (Fig 6).
    Does the battery LED meter indicate charging?

  • No… please change USB lead and charger. Still not responding, replace unit. Visitwww.ringfenrier.cmn

  • Yes… wait until fully charged. Still not responding, reset once again. Still not responding, replace DogFender unit Visitwww.dogfender.com

COLLAR FITTING ADJUSTMENT

Adjust the DogFender collar using the two finger method to gauge the correct collar fit, pushing through the collar hole that suits your dog size.

CHANGING THE COLLAR

Remove the eight screws securing the collar back plate, remove collar (Fig 5).
In reverse order, add the collar of your choice and clean area using a damp cloth being careful not to damage pins.

All packaging must be kept for the duration of the warranty.

PRECAUTIONS

Overhead electric cables, radio masts, high voltage and built up areas could interfere with the communication between DogFender and the Remote Control Unit.

If DogFender has been damaged in any way, we strongly advise to have the DogFender unit replaced immediately to eliminate possible malfunction.

If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
  • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
  • Consult the dealer or an experienced radiofTV techni-cian for help.
