In many cases, yes. The DIRECTV installation may require structural modifications that may be limited or restricted by the terms of your lease, rental agreement, or covenants, conditions and restrictions (CC&Rs). To avoid delays in your installation, we ask that you obtain written or verbal permission from your landlord, homeowners’ association, or property manager (or, alternatively, review your lease/rental agreement/HOA CC&Rs to confirm permission is not required) prior to scheduling your installation. Review the Installation Permission Form (available in English and Spanish) for more info.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has a rule that generally forbids local governments and homeowners’ associations from enforcing unreasonable restrictions regarding the installation of satellite dishes one meter or smaller. For more information, visit the FCC web site at fcc.gov.
Some apartment buildings are pre-wired for DIRECTV. Ask your property manager if your building is pre-wired for DIRECTV and if so, how to order.
