Important safety notes
Danger from bright light:
- The bright light of an LED lamp can damage eyes and lead to after-images. Do not look directly at the light source. When looking towards the light, a safety distance of at least 3 m (9.84 ft) must be maintained. Where necessary, use diffusers between lamp and model or object. Do not use the lamp to illuminate photographs of small children or babies. Do not use to illuminate people who are operating machines or steering vehicles!
Risk of electric shock, risk of burns
- Note that the device is still powered even when it is switched off. The device has a permanently installed battery that cannot be exchanged by the user.
- Switch off the device when not in use.
- Only operate the device in dry conditions.
- Do not throw or drop the device under any circumstances. The battery is shock-sensitive and inflammable.
- Make sure that the device is not dropped. If you have dropped the device, have it checked by a qualified electrician. Only then switch the device on again.
- If the device is damaged or broken, do not use it and do not open it. Never repair the device yourself. Only a qualified electrician may repair the device.
- Always maintain the device in accordance with these operating instructions. Only a qualified electrician may replace illuminants or the battery.
- Do not charge the battery in the device unattended.
- Check the charger and cable before charging. Do not use if the charger or cable is damaged.
Danger from small parts and fragments:
- Illuminants can break and splinter if you bump into the light panel. Splinters can injure eyes and skin. Handle the light panel carefully so that the illuminants do not break.
- Risk of suffocation from small parts! Keep the device and packaging material away from children and pets.

Prepare the device for use
Charging the battery
The battery can be fully charged within approximately 2.5 hours (23123) / 3.5 hours (23124). Before using the device for the first time, fully charge the battery via the charging port (9). The device features an automatic charge current cut-off function so that the battery cannot be overcharged. The unit can be used while charging, because of the strong heating this is not recommended in already hot environments. We recommend to disconnect the charger from the mains as soon as the charging process is complete. Charge the battery if you do not use the device for a long time or if the battery is discharged. Charge the device at least every three months. Avoid a deep discharge and charge the battery soon after it has been discharged.
Mounting on a tripod or bracket
The unit is equipped with several 1/4 inch threaded bores (7). This allows the lamp to be mounted on a stand, handle, magic arm or other brackets. It can also be attached to the supplied ball head, which in turn can be attached to the hot shoe of a camera or a smartphone holder. The tripod must stand even, securely and non-slip.
Diffusor
The luminaire 23124 comes with a removable diffuser. (Luminaire 23123 features
a fixed diffuser.) This can be snapped into the recesses in the housing of the
luminaire with its holders. Removal is done by gently lifting one of the tabs
at the corners of the diffuser.
The diffuser changes the light characteristics. The light becomes softer as it
is more widely scattered. The shadows are not as hard-edged when the diffuser
is used. The luminous efficacy decreases because the light is emitted more
widely.
Without the diffuser, the light becomes harder as it is more focused. The
shadows are more sharp-edged. The luminous efficiency increases because the
light is more strongly focused on the subject.
WARNING
Batteries can leak or explode if handled improperly. Do not place the device
in a fire or expose it to direct heat. If battery fluid comes into contact
with skin or clothing, rinse immediately with fresh water.
Operating and handling the device
Make the unit ready for operation as described in the previous chapters. Use the unit only in dry conditions and not at temperatures above 40° C. The unit warns you if the temperature is too high or too low. The performance of the battery depends on the ambient temperature. The symbols in the display show the brightness in percent and the colour temperature in degrees Kelvin. At the top left, you will find a forecast of how long the lamp can remain lit with the selected settings. At the top right, you will see the battery charge level and a charging symbol when charging. A temperature warning, if any, is displayed in the top centre.
CAUTION
Risk of burns due to hot housing parts, especially during prolonged use.
Switching on and off
To switch on, press the on/off/menu button (1) for 3 seconds (23123) or for 2 seconds (23124). The lamp turns on at 3200 K and 1% (23123) or 5% (23124) power. To switch off, press the button for the specified duration.
Luminaire control
Briefly and repeatedly pressing the on/off/menu button (1) toggles back and forth between the setting options for color temperature and brightness. An arrow on the display (2) shows which of the values you can now set. Use the rocker button for plus (3) and minus (4) to set the desired value. The brightness jumps in 5% steps, the color temperature in 100K steps.
Power bank
The battery of the lamp can also be used as a power bank. For this purpose,
the lamp has a USB-A output (23123) / a USB-C output (23124) to which a
corresponding charging cable can be connected. Please note:
While the light is charging its own battery, it cannot be used as a power
bank.
When the charge level is high, the light can be used as a power bank and as a
light at the same time. At medium charge levels, the maximum lighting
brightness is limited if the light is used as a power bank.
When the charge levels are low, the lighting is no longer available if the
light is used as a power bank.
Transporting and storing the device
- Switch off the device.
- Let the device cool down completely.
- Clean the device if necessary (see chapter 11).
- Place the device and all dismantled elements in the article packaging and transport or store as specified in chapter 13

surface, use a soft, dry cloth or dust brush and dab off any dirt.
