VIBOCOLD TM 700 Freezer
Installation
Placing
When the freezer is in operation, all four sides become hot. The freezer must
therefore be installed so that 5 cm of free space is left on all sides for
the air to cirCulate freely and conduct the heat away
Place the freezer so that it is not heated by direct sunlight or heaters. Low
ambient temperatures and good room ventilation reduce energy consumption.
Operation
G-models
Thermostat, fast freeze switch and control lamps are placed in control panel
at bottom right front of freezer.
Thermostat
The temperature in the freezer is controlled by the thermostat. The themostat
button is operated with a coin or similar.
- Pos. 0: power to compressor is disconnected
- Pos. 1: warmest thermostat setting
- Pos. max.: coldest themostat setting
Fast freeze switch
When the fast freeze switch is turned on and the yellow lamp lights, the
compressor runs continuously, and the temperature will stabilise at approx.
-30°C.
When the fast freeze switch is turned off the thermostat assumes control of
the temperature. The fast freeze switch is used for freezing fresh foods.
Red lamp (not mounted in model G)
The red lamp lights when the temperature in the freezer is more than 3°C above
the temperature for which the themostat is set.
Green lamp
Remains on as long as there is power to the freezer.
T-models
The thermostat control is in the cover plate of the compressor compartment.
Thermostat

button is operated with a coin or similar.
- Pos. 0: the power to compressor is disconnected
- Pos. 1: wamest thermostat setting
- Pos. max.: coldest thermostat setting
The freezing button and control lamps are placed in the handle on the lid
Fast freeze switch
When the fast freeze switch is turned on and the yellow lamp lights, the
compressor runs continuously, and the temperature is stabilised at approx.
-30°C.
When the fast freeze switch is turned off, the thermostat assumes control of the temperature. The fast freeze switch is used for freezing fresh foods.
Red lamp A
The red lamp lights when the temperature in the freezer is more than 3°C above
the temperature for which the thermostat is set.
Green lamp
Remains on as long as there is power to the freezer.
Before you use the freezer
Before use, the interior of the freezer should be cleaned with tepid water.
Temperature control
The temperature regulation can be turned using a coin or similar (fig, 4)
The correct setting depends on the temperature in the room where the freezer
is placed.
During the first weeks you should check the temperature frequently until it is
stable at 18°C (recommended storage temperature for food).
Operation of the freezer
The freezer is now ready for use and can be switched on. Wait 5-6 hours before
placing goods in the freezer. Hereafter the frozen goods can be placed in the
freezer. See para grapf »Quick freezing instructions«
NB: T he freezer should not be filled above the load line near the top at
the back of the food container. This line is the load limit line. All de luxe
models are fitted with a lock in the handle.
Warning
Sealed containers with carbon dioxide may not be placed in the freezer as they
can explode. lce creams should not be eaten immediately after removal from the
freezer as the lips may be injured.
Note! At times the lid can be difficult to open if it has been opened
shortly before. The explanation is that hot air enters the box when the lid is
opened. The air will then condence when coled and create negative pressure in
the box. After some time this negative pressure will be equalised and the lid
is again easy to open. If you should need to open the lid before the negative
pressure is equalised, the gasket along the lid may be loosened carefully from
the frame with the use of a thin blunt object.
Freezing
Switch on the fast freeze switch. After 24 hours the freezer is ready for
freezing foods.
Place the fresh goods in the freezer so that they have good contact with the
walls and do not touch already frozen goods. Freezing is complete after 24
hours. Turn off the fast freeze switch and then set the thermostat button so
that the temperature in the freezer is maintained at -18°C.
Never freeze larger lots at one time than stated in the enclosed infomation
sheet.
Defrosting
As times goes on frost wili build up in certain areas, i.e. on the sides just
below the lid. This frost should be scraped away periodically using a wooden
or plastic scraper or a stiff bristle brush. Never use a metal or sharp
instrument. f possible, move existing foods to one side of the cabinet- scrape
off frost and then move foods back in order to gain access to the other side.
Complete defrosting will in the course of time become necessary. This should
be carried out if the frost built up, cannot all be scraped away, or if it
begins to interfere with the foods storage. Choose a time when the stock of
frozen food is low, and proceed as follows.
-
Take out the frozen food, turn the freezer off at the mains supply and leave the lid open. ldeally the food should be put into another freezer or refrigerator. If this is not possible, wrap it in a compact block, first in several sheets of newspaper or large turkish towels, and then in a thick rug or blanket and keep it in a cool place.
-
Scrape away as much frost as possible, thawing of the remainder can be accelerated by placing bowls of hot water inside the cabinet. As the solid frost loosens, prise it away with wooden or plastic scraper.
Excess water can be drained off into a receptable placed under the drain plug located on the front of the cabinet (the seperation can be used as shown in figs. 4-5). -
Ensure that the drain plug is not fully withdrawn and that the pointer on the plug is turned downwards.
When defrosting is completed, wipe over the interior of the cabinet with bicarbonate of soda and water and dry thoroughly as described under »Before you use the freezer«, -
When the cabinet is completely dry and clean close the lid, switch on both mains supply and fast freeze switch. Proceed as for instructions on »Operation of the freezer«.
The plastic scraper is placed in the lid lamp cover. It is removed by pushing in the direction of the arroWA(up).
- WARNING – Keep ventilation openings in the appliance enclosure or in the structure for buinding in, clear of obstruction.
- WARNING – Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than recommended by the manufacturer
- WARNING- Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
- WARNING Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage of the appliance, unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.
Warning
Keys for the freezer must be kept out of reach of children. Aways disconnect
the power at the powerpoint before replacing the light bulb in the lid.
When replacing the light bulb in the lid, first remove the lamp cover by
pushing in the direction of the arrow(up). You may have to loosen it along the
sides first using e.g. a Screwdriver.
Warning
Keys for the freezer must be kept out of reach of children. Aways disconnect
the power at the power point before replacing the light bulb in the lid.
When replacing the light bulb in the lid, first remove the lamp cover by
pushing in the direction of the arowA (up). You may have to loosen it along
the sides first using e.g. a screwdriver.
WARNING
Always make sure that the plug has been taken out of its socket before
removing the grid in front of the compressor compartment. If the freezer is
altered in any way, e.g. changing the mains wire, or tampered with by
unauthorised personnel, the manufacturer disclaims all responsibility for any
damage caused to property and persons. Therefore, in the interest of
everyone’s safety, ALWAYS use authorised staff for all forms of service or
alterations to your freezer.
Scrapping
It is the owner of the freezer who is responsible for a secure scrapping of
the cabinet according to present legislation.
When scrapping the cabinet the lid must be dismounted and the keys to the lock
must be scrapped elsewhere than the appliance. In order to protect the
environment the refrigerant and the compressor oil must be drained by a
refrigerant engineer, or the appliance must be delivered to an authorized
centre for receiving refrigeration equipment for re-cycling of refrigerant.
Has the freezer stopped working
First check that the following are in order:
- Has the power been disconnected?
- Has the fuse blown?
- Is the plug pushed into the power point?
- Is the power switched on?
- Is the thermostat knob set for the desired temperature range?
- Is the frost layer too thick?
