Product Usage Instructions

  1. Open the battery cover on the back of the controller and insert 3 x 1.5V AA batteries with correct polarization.
  2. Connect the drone’s battery to a mains charger using a micro USB cable. The LED indicator next to the micro USB port will flash red during charging. When fully charged, the indicator will turn off.
  3. Remove the drone’s battery from the charger and reinstall it on the drone.
  4. If the drone’s backlight is flashing, it indicates low battery level. About 30 seconds after the low battery alert, the drone will automatically land.
  5. The low battery status will also be signaled with a sound signal.
  6. To prepare for flight, press and hold the drone power button until the backlight blinks.
  7. Place the drone on a flat surface with its back facing the user.
  8. Press the power button on the controller to turn it on. A beep will be heard and the status indicator will turn on.
  9. To pair the controller with the drone, use the left stick to move forward.
  10. To take off, press the take-off/landing button or use the left stick to increase flight altitude. To land, press the take-off / landing button or use the left stick to lower flight altitude until the drone settles on the ground. After landing, the drone’s motors will shut down.
  11. In case of emergency, press and hold the emergency shutdown button for about 3 seconds to instantly shut down the drone’s motors.
  12. The drone has various buttons on the controller for trim adjustments, speed changes, acrobatics, camera control, circle flying, video recording, headless mode, as well as power buttons for the controller and the drone itself.
  13. Make sure to install the propellers correctly according to the markings A and B indicated on the drone. Refer to the diagram shown if needed.
  14. Note that the camera does not have the option to be adjusted using the mobile application. The viewing angle can be manually adjusted by rotating the camera around an axis.

  • Choking hazard! Keep small parts away from children.
  • Never leave the battery unattended during charging.
  • Never dispose of battery into a fire.
  • Follow basic safety rules when operating the device.
  • Before using the product, make sure that the area you chose is free from obstacles. When operating the product always keep a safe distance from people and animals. Note, to avoid injury or damage, the device should not be flown at shorter distance than 2 meters / 7 feet from people or other obstacles.
  • Do not operate the product near power lines.
  • Take extra precaution while using the device.
  • Do not attempt to repair this device yourself. In case of damage, contact authorized service point for check-up or repair.
  • When the device is no longer in use, switch it off and then turn off the controller. If the device is not going to be used for a longer period of time, remove batteries from the transmitter.
  • Do not put the battery in high temperature or near heat sources.
  • Not suitable for persons under 14 years old. The users under 18 years of age can operate the product under adult supervision only.
  • Use only authorized accessories.
  • Don’t over-charge the battery.
  • Do not touch the motor during or after flights, as it may become hot.
  • Make sure that the replacement of propellers is done correctly.
  • Do not use the drone in rain or high wind.
  • Devices using radio waves can affect the shortened control range of a drone.
  • When flying a drone, please follow local laws related to unmanned aerial vehicle flying.

Markings A and B indicate the correct installation of propellers. If necessary, install them according to the diagram shown.

OPERATION

Battery

  1. On the controller, unscrew and remove the battery cover located on the back of the controller. Insert batteries with correct polarization.
  2. Remove the drone’s battery and connect it to the mains charger with a micro USB cable. During charging, the LED indicator located next to the micro USB port will flash red. When the battery is fully charged, the indicator turns off. It needs to be reinstalled on the drone.
  3. Low battery level will be indicated by flashing of the drone backlight. About 30 seconds after the low battery alert, the drone will automatically land.
  4. Low battery status will be signaled with sound signal.

Flight preparation

  1. Press and hold drone power button for few seconds. Drone backlight will blink.
  2. Place the drone on the flat surface with its back to the user.
  3. On the controller, press the power button. A beep will be heard and the status indicator will turn on.
  4. To pair the controller with the drone, use the left stick to move forward and backward. When paired correctly, the operating status indicator on the controller and the drone backlight will be on solid light and a sound will be heard on the controller.
  5. The gyroscope inside the drone should be calibrated before each launch. Push two sticks down to 45° as picture shows, propeller backlight will blink and turn solid that indicating the calibration is completed. Correct calibration will be indicated by the solid light of the two propellers.

Take-off and landing

  1. The drone’s motors can be turned on in two ways:

    • by pointing the sticks down towards each other at an angle of 45°
    • the engines will start to rotate, but the drone will remain on the ground. Then use the left stick by pushing it upwards – the drone will take to the air.Rebel-ZAB0119-Drone-Dove-Pro-Camera-FIG- \(5\)
    • by pressing the drone’s take-off / landing button – the drone will
      rise to a height of about 1,5 m.
  2. To land, press the take-off / landing button or use the left stick to lower its flight until the drone settles on the ground. After this action, the drone’s motors will shut down.
    Note : To emergency shut down the motors in flight, press and hold emergency shutdown button for about 3 seconds. The engines will shut down instantly and the drone will fall to the ground.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

Acrobatics

  1. Raise the drone to a height of about 2 meters on the ground.
  2. On the controller, press the acrobatics button.
  3. Then push the right stick in the direction you want the drone to turn.
    • Note : this function is unavailable if the drone’s battery is low.

Headless mode

  1. Press headless mode button to turn on this function.
  2. Once the headless function has been enabled, no matter how you rotate the aircraft, the direction to which the user is currently facing when the headlock mode was initialized will be always the heading / forwarding direction for aircraft (Front of the drone will be dependent on the remote control). In this way, users don’t have to always keep watching on the aircraft to classify which side is front or which side is back.
  3. To deactivate this mode, press the headless mode button again.

Circle fly

  1. To trigger the drone’s automatic circle flight, press and hold the circle flying button.
  2. The drone will fly in a circle and its camera will point inward.
  3. To deactivate this mode, press and hold the circle flying button again.

Changing drone moving speed

  1. To change the speed of the drone, press the speed change button.
  2. By default, the drone is set to a low speed.
  3. After the first press, the drone will enter medium speed mode – a double beep will be heard from the controller.
  4. A second press of the button will activate the high-speed mode – a triple beep will be heard from the controller.

MOBILE APP

  1. Download REBEL TOYS mobile app from Play store or App Store. It is also available under a QR code:
    • Google Play
    • App Store
  2. Turn on the drone.
  3. On your mobile device, turn on the Wi-Fi option and search for the DOVE by REBEL network and connect to it.
  4. The final step is to turn on the REBEL TOYS app. The screen of the mobile device should display the image from the drone’s camera.
    • Note : The camera does not have the option of adjusting with a controller or app. The viewing angle is adjusted by manually turning the camera in one axis.

Gestures
When enabled, you should be in the field of view of the drone’s camera. To take a picture, show two raised fingers with your hand. To start video recording, show an open hand.

Controlling the drone with a gyroscope
When this mode is enabled, you need to use the gyroscope built into the mobile device to control the drone – you need to tilt it according to the direction you want the drone to move.

Flying mode along a drawn route
In this mode, there will be a blank space on the application screen in place of the virtual right stick. To set the drone’s route, use your finger to draw a path at this point. After completing this action, the drone will stop.
