Intended use

This product is a camera that connects to your network via Wi-Fi or LAN and can stream video and two-way audio. The built-in infrared LED lights will illuminate objects up to 20 meters away in the dark. The camera is equipped with motion detection that can trigger recording and push notifications to your mobile device.
You can access the camera remotely using a mobile device. The application is available for download from the App Store or Google PlayTM Store.
The product has an IP65 ingress protection rating providing protection against dust and light rain. If used outdoors it should be mounted in sheltered areas.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can result in other hazards. Read the instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Mobile application

Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property. General information

  • The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material for children.
  • Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, flammable gases, steam, and solvents.
  • Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
  • If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
    • is visibly damaged,
    • is no longer working properly,
    • has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
    • has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
  • Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
  • Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the appliance.
  • Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician or an authorised repair centre.
  • If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.

Power adaptor

  • The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
  • As power supply, only use the supplied mains adaptor.
  • Only connect the power adaptor to a normal mains socket connected to the public supply. Before plugging in the power adaptor, check whether the voltage stated on the
  • power adaptor complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
  • Never connect or disconnect power adaptors if your hands are wet.
  • Never unplug the power adaptor from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always use the grips on the plug.
  • When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp edges.
  • Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses a risk of injury.
  • For safety reasons, disconnect the power adaptor from the mains socket during storms.

Ingress protection

  • The device has an IP65 rating. It is protected from dust, and low pressure water jets from any direction.
  • To maintain the ingress protection rating:
    • The power cable should be connected to the adaptor in a weatherproof socket box or routed indoors via a weatherproofed cable inlet.
    • The compartment cover should be properly sealed.

Mounting

  • Risk of electric shock! Before drilling, check for concealed wires or pipes beneath the surface that could be damaged or cause harm.

Installation

Choosing a location

The power cable should be connected to the adaptor in a weatherproof socket box, or routed indoors via a weatherproofed cable inlet.
If the camera is placed behind glass, glare from infrared LED lights may over expose the image.

  • The camera recording angle and motion detection angle is affected by the placement of the device.
  • Check that the device is within range of your network access point.
    • Wi-Fi: within range
    • LAN cable: max. 100 m
  • You may need to set up a wireless repeater to improve the connection.
  • The power cable is 2.3 m long. Make sure there is a suitable power outlet close enough to your mounting location to connnect the USB power adaptor.

Power supply
Important

  • Do not use a USB port of a computer, keyboard, or USB hub without a power adapter as the current sup-plied by these ports is insufficient.
  • If used outdoors, the cable and the adapter must be protected against water and dust.

Antenna

Screw the antenna into the camera. For optimal signal strength, it should point straight up towards the sky.

Mounting

Check that the provided screws are appropriate for the surface material. If in doubt consult a professional.

  1. Use the holes on the mounting plate as a template to mark where to drill.
  2. If needed, insert the plastic dowels using a mallet.
  3. Fix the mount to the wall using the supplied screws.
  4. Screw the device onto the mount.
  5. Make sure the device is securely attached to the mounting bracket before letting go.

Getting ready for operation

Remove the camera screen protector film before use.

Remove/replace compartment cover Important

  • Always replace the cover after inserting the SD card or pairing the camera.
  • Make sure the rubber gasket is properly seated in the groove before replacing the compartment cover.

Install/replace microSD card

Important

  • The microSD card should be formatted using FAT32 or exFAT file systems. Refer to your computer soft-ware instructions for information about how to do this.

  • If needed, use a tool such as a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the cover open. Do not use excessive force and be careful not to damage the housing.

    1. Insert the microSD card into slot, it will “click” into place.

    2. Remove using the tip of your finger to press down until it “clicks”, then release to eject.
      Pair the device with the app before replacing the compartment cover.

    3. Replace the cover.

Operation

Power on

  • The camera will turn on when connected to the power supply.
  • It will take a few moments for the camera to load up.
  • A voice prompt will indicate the camera has fully started up.

If not paired with app

  • You will hear beeps at regular intervals.
  • The beeps will continue until the camera has been paired.
  • If needed, see section “d) Reset the camera” to enter pairing mode.

If already paired with app

  • If the camera is already paired with the app there will be no beeping.
  • The camera will function as usual after starting up.

Reset the camera
Perform a reset if the camera is not functioning correctly or you would like to put the camera into pairing mode.

Note

  • Any previous connections will be lost after resetting.
  • If previously paired with the app, you must also “Re-move Device” via the app after the device has been reset. Refer to the app operating instructions for infor-mation about how to “Remove Device”.
  1. Open the compartment cover.
  2. Press and hold the Reset button 4-5 seconds until you hear a beep, then wait a few moments for the system to restart.
  3. Repeat the pairing process after you hear the startup tone, and the camera enters pairing mode. See section “14 “Smart Life – Smart Living” App” on page 47 for information about the pairing process.
  4. Replace the compartment cover.

  • Pairing tips
    Note

    • This device is only compatible with 2.4 GHz networks.
    • Enter the exact network name (case sensitive).
    • Have the password for your router ready.
    • Connect the mobile phone or tablet to same network the camera will connect to.
    • The connection pathway is: “Add device” → “Video Surveillance” → “Smart Camera”.
  • Supported pairing methods
    Refer to the app manual for further details.
    Wi-Fi

    • QR Code: Supported

    • EZ mode: Supported
  • LAN

    • Cable: Supported
  • Low light recording
    A light sensor automatically triggers “night vision” when ambient light falls below a certain level.
    The recorded image will be in black and white.

  • Motion detection

    • With a microSD card inserted:
    • 15 second clips will be saved until the SD card is full.
    • You will receive notifications on your phone.
    • If no microSD is inserted, or if the SD card is full:
    • No clips will be saved.
    • When you receive phone notifications, open the app to view live video (with option to save to mobile device memory).

Care and cleaning

Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.

  • Disconnect the product from the power supply before each cleaning.
  • Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.
