Wireless Luminaire Controller
OVERVIEW
The Wireless Luminaire Controller (WLC) enables standard DALI drivers to be
integrated as part of an Encelium X Wireless Lighting Control System. The WLC
is able to individually address and control up to 2 DALI drivers and can
provide group control for up to 8 DALI drivers. For more information on

PRODUCT SAFETY
READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT
When using electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
- Do not mount near gas or electric heaters or let power supply cords touch hot surfaces.
- Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not readily be subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel.
- The use of accessory equipment is not recommended by Encelium as it may cause an unsafe condition.
- All DALI channels are internally connected together to the control unit. Make sure to consider this when installing.
- Do not use this equipment for other than the intended use.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
WIRELESS SYSTEM OVERVIEW
This illustration shows how each component is easily integrated into the Encelium X Lighting Control System.
STEP 1 The WLC is intended for luminaire integration which enables the luminaire to be controlled wirelessly. The WLC is to be installed in dry, indoor locations ONLY. Secure the WLC to the luminaire using a screw (not included).Recommended input voltage is 220 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz. Integrated Wireless Communication, with a typical connectivity range of ≤ 15 m (49 ft). Maximum of 300 m (984 ft) total wire length for DALI.
STEP 2
INDEPENDENT CEILING INTEGRATIONIndependent Ceiling Integration is possible
with installation of the ECO CI KIT (ordered separately), a strain relief
housing kit. The WLC requires the installation of an ECO CI KIT to ensure
protection from electrical contact. The WLC is to be installed in dry, indoor
locations ONLY. Recommended input voltage is 220 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz.
Integrated Wireless Communication, with a typical connectivity range of ≤ 15 m
(49 ft). Maximum of 300 m (984 ft) total wire length for DALI.
STEP 3 Remove cable guards from the ECO CI KIT base and place ECO CI KIT base onto the WLC. Push the center of the cable guard down and bend, enabling the cable guard to wrap around the cable.
STEP 4 PASO 6With the cable guards installed on the LINE IN and DALI cables, connect the wires into the WLC ports. Place the ECO CI KIT cover onto the WLC and tighten the screws.
FEATURES
The WLC is a bidirectional converter with DALI Interface that features an LED
Indicator and Reset Button. The LED Indicator is OFF when the WLC is not
powered and ON when powered (see the WLC LED Indicator details below). To
reset factory default settings, press and hold the Reset Button for a minimum
of 10 seconds. This will remove the WLC from the network. When reset is
successful, the LED will rapidly flash.
Note: Resetting to factory default settings will delete the DALI short
address and require the device to be re-commissioned.
WLC LED Indicator Lights
- Steady On: Device is connected to a network (there will be a slight flicker of the LED indicating it is communicating).
- Slow Blink: Device is not connected to a network.
- Rapid Flashing : Device has been successfully reset.
RADIO TRANSMITTER
For the radio transmitter to work properly do not place any mains voltage or LED supply wires within a minimal distance of 10 mm (0.4 inch).
