SETTING UP YOUR LIGHT STRIP

Shortening your light strip

  1. Decide how long you need your light strip to be. When measuring, make sure that you start from the side of the tape that has the controller box connected to it. The part of the tape that you cut off will no longer light up.
  2. Locate the nearest cut line, then cut with a pair of scissors. Cut lines are about 3.9 in. (9.9 cm) apart.
WARNING: Do not cut the silver solder markings. Only cut in the center of the copper-colored pads, as shown.

Attaching your lights
CAUTION: To avoid damage to the light strip, do not sharply twist or bend the light strip 90° or more.

  1. Peel the adhesive backing off the lights, then attach the lights where you want them.

  2. Optional: Attach the double-sided tape to the back of the RF controller box, then attach it where you want it.
    OR
Attach the RF controller box to a surface using the two included screws.
    Notes:

    • Make sure that the lightstrip is unrolled, otherwise it can damage the lightstrip or cause a fire.
    • Every surface is different, and additional adhesive may be used if the LED tape detaches from the surface. Small pieces of clear tape can be used.

Connecting to power

  1. Connect the AC adapter plug to the controller box.

  2. Connect the controller box to the light strip’s 4-pinconnector. Make sure that the arrows on the connectors are pointing to each other.

  3. Plug the AC adapter into a power outlet.
WARNING: Unroll before use. Never plug in the LED lights when rolled up, as this can result in product damage or a fire.

  4. Remove the plastic battery-saver tab from the remote control.

REPLACING THE REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY

  1. Squeeze the tab and pull out the battery compartment.

[ REVIEWERS: Is there a plastic tab in the battery compartment? Sometimes remotes like this have a plastic tab in there (for protection I assume). If so, it needs to be removed (can cause the remote not to work).]

USING YOUR LIGHT STRIP

[ REVIEWERS: If you turn off or unplug your light strip, will it remember your last brightness and color settings?] Aim your remote at the control box to adjust your light strip’s settings:

  • Press (power) to turn the light strip on or off.
  • Press a color button to change the color. There are 16 selectable colors, including white.
  • Press (brightness up) or (brightness down) to adjust the brightness when using a single color. There are eight brightness levels.
  • Press (speed up) or slow down) to adjust how quickly the lights cycle through colors. There are eight speed levels for the Sunrise/Sunset, Jump 3/Jump 7, Fade 3/Fade 7, and Flash/Auto modes.
