LASER 5639 Soldering Iron Instructions
Safety First. Be Protected
Instructions
Before use:
- Do not heat up the soldering iron without ensuring the soldering tip is in place
- Check the setscrew is secure which holds the tip in place and the tip is pushed fully into position.
Warm up the Iron
Warm up the soldering iron thoroughly. Make sure that it is fully up to temperature.
Tinning the soldering tip
Before use, the soldering tip must be tinned. “Tinning” is the process of coating the soldering tip with a thin coat of solder. This aids in heat transfer between the tip and the component you are soldering, and also helps the solder to flow
Thoroughly coat the tip in solder
Any part of the tip left uncovered may tend to collect flux residue and may not conduct heat properly.
