Frequently Asked Questions

What distinguishes this hub tiny from the Hub Plus?****

Due to its small size, the Hub Mini’s performance is comparable to that of the Hub Plus. The rainbow light on the SwitchBot Hub Mini is no longer present, and it is now micro-USB powered. Because it is smaller, square, and white, it blends well with the surroundings.

Does using it remotely require a paid subscription?****

No subscription is required to use SwitchBot at all.

Does anyone know how to add a pause or delay between actions in a scene? Like turning on the TV and pausing for 10 seconds before sending the next IR?****

Possible Workaround: I’m not sure if this would work, but maybe you could create a button that is inactive and use it as the instruction to execute anytime you wanted a pause. Since there appears to be a 2 second delay between buttons, you would have to provide the instruction twice if you desired a 4 second delay. Just an idea. If so, you could use a different remote, an outdated one, or perhaps from a device in another room. It could require an actual IR signal to “learn” a button.

Is this product compatible with SmartThings?****

What voltage does the switchbot run on?****

Where must this hub be placed to manage several IR devices for a home theatre?****
