Preliminary Procedure
Remove the front exhaust gas recirculation cooler. Refer to You are not
authorized to view the requested information.

| Fuel Pressure Relief Valve
Warning: Verify that there are no fuel leaks in the fuel system. Failure
to identify any leaks could result in no start, stall, vehicle damage, or
bodily injury.
Caution: Refer to You are not authorized to view the requested
information. (gm.com).
Procedure
1. Screw in the adaptor while holding the valve body.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
3. If the scan tool DPF Soot Mass is less than 30 grams, enable the DPF.
Refer to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration Enable.
4. If the scan tool DPF Soot Mass is 30 grams or greater, refer to Diesel
Particulate Filter (DPF) Service Regeneration.
5. While holding the outer hex nut 90 degrees to the torque wrench, tighten
the inner following specifications.
6. Check the fuel system for leaks.
Tighten:
First Pass 60 Y (44 lb-ft)
Second Pass Loosen 90 degrees
Third, pass 85 Y (63 lb-ft)
