Trailer Brake Control Module Replacement (J95, J96)
Removal Procedure
-
Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
-
Lower and secure the spare tire and wheel assembly.
-
Disconnect the chassis control module and the trailer brake power control module electrical connectors.
-
Loosen, but do not remove, the chassis control and trailer brake power control module bracket bolts(1).
-
Slide the chassis control and trailer brake power control module bracket toward the right of the vehicle and remove the assembly from the vehicle.

Remove the trailer brake power control module nuts(1).

Remove the trailer brake power control module(1)from the bracket. Installation Procedure
Installation Procedure

Install the trailer brake power control module(1)to the bracket.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution. -
Install the trailer brake power control module nuts (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

Install the chassis control and trailer brake power control module bracket assembly to the frame.
-
Slide the chassis control and trailer brake power control module bracket assembly fully into the slotted holes of the vehicle frame.

Tighten the chassis control and trailer brake power control module bracket bolts(1)to9Y (80 lbin).
-
Connect the chassis control and trailer brake power control module electrical connectors.
-
Raise and secure the spare tire and wheel assembly.
-
If installing a new trailer brake power control module, program the module. Refer to Trailer Brake Power Module Programming and Setup.
