HKS 70020-AS002 Racing Suction Reloaded Intake Kit Instruction Manual

NOTICE

This manual assumes that you have and know how to use the tools and equipment necessary to safely perform service operations on your vehicle. This manual assumes that you are familiar with typical
automotive systems and basic service and repair procedures. Do not attempt to carry out the operations shown in this manual unless these assumptions are correct. Always have access to a factory repair
manual. To avoid injury, follow the safety precautions contained in the factory repair manual.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • Check to make sure that all of the parts listed in the Parts List are included in the
  • Reference the factory service manual for the vehicle when removing factory
  • Be careful when handling this product; avoid dropping or subjecting it to excessive Failure to do so may result in product damage or improper installation.
  • Use the proper tools when tightening nuts and If over tightened, the bolts will become damaged.
  • Keep the removed factory parts in a safe place for ease of re-installation at a later date (if necessary).
  • Replace the filter element at regular intervals: (Recommended) Replace every 3,000 to 5,000km/2,000 to 3,200miles or every 3 to 6 months. Replacement filter elements are sold separately. *Do not wash the filter elements as the filtration properties will be degraded.
  • However, there are certain conditions where, depending on dirt buildup, the filter may need to be cleaned/replaced earlier than the above recommended intervals.
  • If the vehicle and the product are not maintained properly as mentioned above, the product cannot perform properly, and the airflow meter sensor may not be able to detect the intake air volume accurately; it may lead to engine damage or bad

ADVICE

  • Installing this kit improves the engine output; therefore, it is recommended to upgrade to high performance spark plugs, especially for race
  • This product was designed based on and for the factory vehicle; however, additional fuel settings may be necessary depending on vehicle
  • If the airflow meter intake air temperature sensor is dirty (blackened, no visible shine) it can be assumed that the sensor itself is also Using the automotive parts cleaner, carefully clean the sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVAL OF FACTORY PARTS
  1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the vehicle’s battery.
    SWIFT SPORT
  1. Remove the engine cover. (Dia.1)

  2. Remove 5 bolts to remove the air duct, the air cleaner lower case, and the air element. (Dia.2)

  3. Disconnect the airflow meter connector. (Dia.3)

  4. Remove a bolt to remove the solenoid valve from the air cleaner upper case. (Dia.4)

  5. Loosen the hose clamp to remove the air cleaner upper case and the air hose. (Dia.3

  6. Remove the airflow meter sensor from the air cleaner upper case. (Dia.4)

2. INSTALLATION OF THE KIT

  1. Attach the supplied cushion tape at the position depicted in diagram 5. (Dia.5)

  2. Position the insulator to the vehicle avoiding unnecessary contact with the vehicle body. Once the

  3. position is determined, secure it to the vehicle using the supplied bolts, washers, and flange nuts.

  4. Position the insulator to the vehicle avoiding unnecessary contact with the vehicle body. Once the position is determined, secure it to the vehicle using the supplied bolts, washers, and flange nuts

  5. SWIFT Install the sealing hose to the throttle body. (Dia.7)

  6. Install the 65mm joint hose to the air intake pipe. Temporarily install the pipe to the throttle body using the supplied hose clamp. (Dia.7)
SWIFT When installing the hose clamp to the throttle side, adjust the position of the hose clamp to tighten the sealing hose as well.
ADVICE SWIFT Temporarily install the air intake pipe not to come in contact with the throttle cable. (Dia.8)

  7. Install the solenoid valve using the supplied 65mm universal bracket. (Dia.7 & 9) Adjust the position of the valve to avoid excessive force on the hose connected to the valve..

  8. Assemble the components as illustrated in Diagram 10. Ensure that the airflow meter sensor’s factory O-Ring is seated correctly, while taking caution that it does not get pinched in the airflow adapter pipe. Tighten with the supplied M4-6 screws. Do not over-tighten. Tightening torque: 2.0~3.0 N-m (0.2~0.3 kg-m). (Dia.10, 11)

  9. Temporarily assemble the filter and the airflow adaptor pipe to the air intake pipe using the kit parts. (Dia.9, 11)

  10. Temporarily install the cover plate to the suction bracket. (Dia.11, 12)

  11. Position the filter assembly to the vehicle avoiding unnecessary contact with other parts of the vehicle. Once the position is determined, secure the filter assembly to the vehicle using
the supplied hose clamps and bolts. Do not over-tighten the clamps and bolts. (Dia.13)

    DVICE:
Use of proper tools can help avoid overtightening of hose clamps. (Screw drivers are recommended.
Do not use boxed wrenches since they tend to use more force.) If over- tightened, the air cleaner may bend or become damaged.
    (Tightening torque: 2.0~3.0 N-m {0.2~0.3 kgm})

  12. Reconnect the airflow meter connector.

  13. Reconnect the negative terminal to the vehicle’s battery

Confirmation After Installation

Check the following after the installation process is complete.

  1. Check the following before starting the engine:
Make sure pipes and hoses are routed and connected correctly.
Make sure hose clamps are tightened.
Make sure the negative cable terminal is securely connected to the battery.
Make sure all bolts and nuts are tightened.
Make sure all installed components do not come in contact with other parts.

  2. Start the engine and check the following:
Make sure air is not leaking.
Make sure the RPM rises smoothly when revving the engine 2-3 times while in neutral.
Make sure the installed parts are not hitting each other.
Make sure there are no issues idling.
Make sure there are no loose parts after the engine is stopped
