Function Operation

  1. Power Button: Press and hold for 3 seconds to switch it on/off. In the playback state, press to mute or turn on the speaker.

  2. Mode Button: Press to switch the AM/FM/WB mode (WB mode is only available in the U.S. standard); In AM/FM mode, press and hold to auto-scan all bands and will store the accessible channels in the list.

  3. > Button: In AM/FM mode, press to the next radio channel, press and hold the > button to move forward the next channel quickly; In WB mode, short press to the next weather channel.

  4. < Button: In AM/FM mode, press to the previous radio channel, press and hold to move forward to the previous channel quickly; In WB mode, short press to the previous weather channel.

  5. + Button: In AM/FM mode, press to the next channel in the stored list, press and hold to turn the volume up; In WB mode, short press to turn the volume up.

  6. Button: In AM/FM mode, press to the previous channel in the stored list, press and hold to turn the volume down; In WB mode, short press to turn the volume down.

  9. Charging Indicator: SW5-W supports hand crank charging, solar charging, and USB charging. If the indicator turns red that means it is charging in one of three charging ways. Flashing red light means charging; GREEN means fully charged.

  12. Light Control Button: When the reading light is not lifted up, the first press: high beam. The second press: flashing. The third press: turn off the light; When the reading light is lifted up, the first press: the reading light turns white. The second press: the reading light turns orange. The third press: the white and orange lights are both on. The fourth press: the reading light turns off.

  22. S.O.S. Alarm Button: Press and hold to turn on the SOS, and will make a siren over 90db.
    Function Operation

S.O.S.

  1. The S.O.S. button is at the button (18).
  2. If you need to use this function, please press and hold the S.O.S. button for 3 seconds, and the device will make an alarm to send a distress signal to people around you.
  3. To switch off S.O.S. function, please press and hold the S.O.S. button again for 3 seconds.

FM/AM

  1. Pull out the antenna in FM/AM mode.
  2. Press button M to switch the FM/AM mode. (Current mode will show on LCD).
  3. Press and hold the button M for 3 seconds to scan the channels automatically. The device will save all the accessible channels without manual saving. (In the scanning status, users can not switch stations by pressing the button M. Please wait patiently until the scanning end.)
  4. When the scanning completed, press the + button or button to switch to the next/previous channel.
  5. Next time you use the FM or AM function, you don’t need to scan the channels again.

Volume Adjustment

  1. When turn volume down, please long press (5) for 3 seconds.
  2. When turn volume up, please long press (6) for 3 seconds.

Hand Crank Charging

It is a backup charging function, and is only recommended to use in an emergency.
Note: When the crank is generating power, please switch off the device.
Hand Crank Charging

Please take out the crank as shown in the picture above, rotate it clockwise, and turn it for 3-5 minutes to activate the internal battery and start using it. When charging, the battery symbol on the display will light up in red. Rotate the crank at 130-150RMP/MIN to generate power. After rotated for 30 minutes, the internal battery has 300MAH capacity.

Solar Energy Generation Function

Direct the solar panel of the device to the sunlight. The battery symbol on the display will light up in red when charging. The function is only recommended for flashlights, radios and SOS, because the charging efficiency is lower. It is mainly used to extend the battery life and use in emergency situations.
Note: When solar charging, please turn off the device.
