- secure the air mattress to the bed mattress or frame using the nylon straps. Attach the straps loosely.
- Place the air pump on a table or hang from the foot of the bed with the attached hooks.
- Connect the inflation tubes from the mattress to the compressor pump’s inflating nozzles. Make sure they are properly secured. Tubes can be pulled apart if needed.
- Connect the compressor pump to a standard ll0v US outlet.
- Check the red CPR valve on the side of the mattress to ensure that it is sealed. Valve should only be opened if the patient on the bed needs resuscitation.
- Cover the mattress with a fitted bed sheet, if desired.
- Make sure all connections are secure and press the on/Off switch on the pump. The compressor pump will begin inflating.
- Adjust the pressure dial to your desired level of inflation, from firm to soft.
NOTE: The mattress will take 40 minutes to inflate fully at the highest pressure setting.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Pump: Disconnect the pump from the wall outlet before cleaning. Wipe down
with a dry cloth.
Mattress: Wipe down with a damp cloth pre-soaked with warm water or a
mild disinfectant. Air dry the mattress without direct exposure to sunlight
until the mattress is fully dry before returning the patient to the cleaned
area.
The mattress DOES NOT need to be disconnected from the pump to vent air.
The mattress will stay inflated even if pump power is lost, so long as the air
hoses are not disconnected.
